The Scrub Campsite located in remnant vegetation (14 minutes from Victor Harbor ) is a rustic self check in campsite as the owners do not reside near the campsite.
Campers choose their site in the designated camp spots. Sites are not allocated unless by prior arrangement.
Persons under 18, youth groups, school groups or scout groups etc. are not permitted to book at the campsite.
A communal camp kitchen, water tanks and compost toilet is available for campers use. Fire pits are located at each site. Campers will be advised of fire bans.
Wood can be purchased from the self service white ibc container for $15 for 20kgs.
Please adhere to the camp rules which are posted at each campsite.
The campsite is located on the Heysen Trail and close to many Lower Fleurieu Peninsula beaches and attractions. The popular Belicious Cafe is a 45 minute walk.
Whole campsite bookings can be made by contacting the owners.

This is a campsite for those who want the best of both worlds, the serenity of the Australian Bush, but close to all the modern conveniences and holiday activities.
Surrounded by the Hindmarsh Valley National Park and a working sheep farm, you’ll be sharing this campsite with the local kangaroos, and if you’re lucky, an echidna or two. There’s a creek running through, and vibrant bird life.
Nearby is a beautiful bush-walk through the Mount Billy Conservation Park.
Situated half way between Myponga and Victor Harbor, only 15 minutes to either, there are many activities available. Kayaking on the Myponga reservoir, or surfing, swimming and sun bathing at either Horseshoe Bay or Waitpinga.
Urimbirra wildlife park is less than 10 minutes away, and around the corner is the Softfoot Alpaca Farm, with the on-site Swagman Restaurant. Also in Hindmarsh Valley is the lovely restaurant Lost Phoenix Farm.
Over your stay, you will likely encounter our two dogs, Lola and Sherlock, who very much enjoy meeting our guests. Lola is particularly fond of children and loves to play fetch with them, whilst Sherlock will try charm you out of your sausages. Despite what he says, he is well fed at home. They are both good at giving high fives. If you would prefer not to see the dogs, please just let us know and we will keep them under strict supervision.
An RV dump point is located on Adelaide Road, Victor Harbor, within the tourist information bay, 200m south of Waterport Road, approximately 10 minutes from the site.

We are located walking distance from lake alexandrina, we’re there are plenty of activities to do such as fishing, boating, and more. There is abundance of wildlife with our resident mob of kangaroos stoping by daily it’s a bird watchers paradise.
This site is a 4 minute walk from the main house and is completely private. The property has its own private road so plenty of room for kids to ride their bikes, we have horses and cows that guests are welcome to feed over the fence. Dogs are welcome lots of room for them to run around, we also have paddle boards for hire.
The town of milang has its own mini mart and cafe and on weekends the train museum is open for viewing.

This property is located at the rear of the owner's land and is essentially a large paddock bordered by trees. Access was straightforward, following clear signage from the main road to the gate. During our visit in summer, the grass was dry, and a fire ban was in place. I can imagine this would be an ideal spot for a winter getaway, with a fire.
Over the weekend, we had the entire area to ourselves and found a beautifully shaded spot to relax. We explored the property, including walking around the dam, and enjoyed encounters with a friendly horse and sheep. Our cat especially loved roaming the grounds and embraced his wild side.
The temperature was about 10 degrees cooler than Adelaide—if Adelaide was 35°C, it was about 27°C here. In the evening the weather became even cooler, needing warm clothing.
Shannon, our host, stopped by to greet us and was both friendly and welcoming. The property is very quiet, with the sound of the sea in the background. There are picturesque views of the surrounding hills and old grapevines.
I would recommend this location to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat away from caravan parks. The site is suitable only for self-contained visitors.
Thanks Shannon, will be back in the cooler months.

Site 1 was perfect for us with kids as both the kitchen and toilets were really close by. We didnt have to lug the gas stove, tables and chairs with us as the Kitchen had all these. It has a gas flat grill plate BBQ which was great for us. The space is huge and the kids had a blast running around. It did get a bit cooler there at night time which we didn't expect so pack some warm clothes (we went 2nd weekend of Feb). There are 3 adorable dogs that visited on and off and we played "fetch" with them. Kylie was lovely - she popped in to say hi and also gave my friend duct tape to fix her pole which accidentally snapped. And she also handed my friend some fresh eggs which my friend enjoyed thoroughly 😊 All in all, a great stay and I'll be coming back soon when we can have a fire.

Had a great stay at Cooinda! Definitely recommend the fenced sites if you have pets or little ones. It was a nice change not to have to worry about my bub wandering out on to the road like most campgrounds. The view was also amazing and facilities were clean. We did have a lot of wasps swarm in while cooking in the evening, that’s nature! But I’d definitely check in on that first if you have allergies. I also wish I realised that groups also use the property. While our site was away from the groups they were quite noisy. The school camps were having a great time in the mornings and evenings which was fine but the footy club blasting music past 10.30pm was a little unexpected. No one’s fault, I just didn’t realise they would be there and it was a bit tricky getting the little one to sleep lol. Overall it’s a beautiful property and we had a great time, would recommend 🙂

This is a not for profit company and although there were groups of children present it did not effect our peaceful stay at all

This was an amazing place to stay really pretty views, nice and quiet, close drive to everything you could wish for!
As a young solo female traveller I felt really safe!
Ammenities were more than amazing, really clean and comfortable!

Wonderful secluded campsite with excellent privacy between sites. Lots of bird life. We didn’t use the shower or kitchen, but the composting loo was great.
We’ll definitely be coming back to spend more time just relaxing away from the city.

Beautiful little spot if you like having your own space away from others. Everything was clean and tidy. The main road is nearby but traffic is minimal, so it stayed nice and quiet. Great base for exploring Deep Creek, Second Valley, Rapid Bay and Victor Harbor.

Great space for many campers and the hills and trees provide a well protected area from the wind. Very private space with no sign of houses or any residential buildings. The horse and his best friend the Ram was a pleasure to witness running all over the fenced off paddocks, as both were very well behaved when I entered their paddocks for a meet and greet. "Very Funny Friend Team"
Hosts were fantastic showing myself the best place to setup to protect my camper trailer from the sun and nice to be advised the direction of sunrise and sunset for my camper trailer solar setup.
The beautiful Port Elliot Horse Shoe Bay is only 15mins away and that includes the famous and very popular Port Elliot Bakery, but best to go before peak time lunch, as the line up is insane, but worth the wait! Lol
Hosts leave you with extreme privacy, which was pleasant to know the only eyes and ears belongs to a Horse and Ram, which is pleasant unlike some caravan parks. Also no quiet time rules at 8pm or kids screaming all day long, so it was awesome feeling to be left to your own sensible rulings.
Even though there is no amenities shops and service stations are only 5 mins away with everything you need including an IGA!
I am in love with Port Elliots beach, so I will definitely be back and I thank you for the stay!!! 🤠😜

Was a perfect spot, lots of trees kept the temperature down on the really hot, long weekend. Was a great spot to enjoy the peacefulness of nature. Easy to find and not too far from a great distillery and short drive to Victor Harbour. Would definitely come back again.

Classic camp spot with beautiful surroundings in the idillyc Inman Valley! Great central location between Victoria Harbor, Normanville & some of the best beaches in SA! Kylie and her daughters are gracious hosts and welcomed me with open arms! Definitely recommend for those seeking peace and quiet and a restful night under the stars! - also, don't miss brunch at Bellalisious , a roadside crepe house , just two minutes drive down the road for good coffee, ambiance and friendly staff and locals!!

Unfortunately due to hot weather we haven’t actually been able to stay at the site. However the team have been brilliant in understanding and have allowed us to rebook. We look forward to staying in April. Inman Valley is a prime spot so I’m sure we will love the site.
