We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area. We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums- surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags. The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully. We are 45 minute drive from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region. We are only 30 minutes drive from Monarto Conservation Park which is a popular spot for walking trails and picnics. Monarto is also home to a Safari Park which is the largest Safari Park in Australia and home to lots of interesting animals. We have 2 toilets available but please BYO toilet paper. Sorry, no pets. At times, wake up to the sounds of sheep bleating and drinking from the trough a few hundred meters away. We have a central campfire area for each site and a double sink connected to river water for washing up and a large prep area on sites 1 & 2. Also on site 1 & 2, just a short walk from the camp fire is an outdoor flushing toilet with hand basin-a luxury for a station stay! Often there are things happening on the farm. Feel welcome to ask if there is anything you can be a part of to add to your holiday experience! Seven Sisters is a hilly grassland with wooded areas, creeks and rocky outcrops to explore. Anywhere within our boundary fence is there for you to explore. Our sites on the property are easily accessed. 2 sites on our farm road with a 4th site set at the back of the property which is very secluded. All sites have seasonal fire pits. Please don’t enter the fenced area around the house or go outside our boundary. Ideal for families or just a quiet stay.

We are a small vineyard, winery and cellar door set on 45 acres of land. It's mostly pasture with 7 acres of vineyard. Guests are welcome to park during the week in the cellar door carpark. On weekends we have a grassed strip, 8 metres wide, between a vineyard block and a windbreak. Which overlooks the valley behind and distant hills to the front. Being self contained is essential. Our toilets are only accessible when the cellar door is open. On weekends guests are welcome to come for dinner on Friday or for lunch on Saturday or Sunday, and then stay overnight, so they can enjoy a few drinks without worrying about driving home!

Only 25 km from the small historic town of Gawler which is a lovely place to visit and close to a horse riding club and equestrian centre. The ground is level allowing for an easy camp set up and the site is located at the back of our property and there is minimal little human movement most of the time so you will enjoy a peaceful stay. Thompson beach is approximately 20kms where you can put your boat in and enjoy some great fishing. Campers must be self sufficient with their own toilet and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Sorry, no pets.

In every town you will discover many historical facts and buildings, machines etc. We even have histroy right here on our property!-ruins of an old school. Oh, do I hear you love taking your horse out for trail rides? Well, here's the perfect place for that too! At the campsite - approx 2km away from the farmhouse - you have the privilege of being surrounded by natural scrublands and habitats on the plains. See our mallee, acacias, sugar woods, grevilleas, honeyeaters, wrens, finches, kangaroos, emus & more. And don't forget the stars!! Our night sky is amazing due to very low light interference. At times, wake up to the sounds of sheep bleating and drinking from the trough a few hundred meters away. We have a central campfire area for each site and a double sink connected to river water for washing up and a large prep area on sites 1 & 2. Also on site 1 & 2, just a short walk from the camp fire is an outdoor flushing toilet with hand basin-a luxury for a station stay! Often there are things happening on the farm. Feel welcome to ask if there is anything you can be a part of to add to your holiday experience! We may be moving sheep, shearing, crutching, fencing, feeding the farm animals, milking our house goats etc. Even come for a horse ride (further info in 'Extras")! Tanah Merdeka is a 184 acre cattle farm currently stocked with Black Baldies, Speckle Park, Angus and Hereford. The creek line paddocks are dedicated to Hipcampers, so you can be assured your campsite won't be interrupted by curious cows during your stay. We can't say the same for the wild kangaroos that call Tanah Merdeka home though. Please be respectful of the working nature of the property and shut any gates you go through except for the automatic gates. Please respect our privacy and don't venture up the driveway towards the house. You are welcome to walk through and explore the paddocks containing the creek line. Do not drive across the creek - walking and bicycles only. Please do not feed the wildlife or the cattle and practice leave no trace camping. We recently stayed at Tilbrook Estate Vineyard. While the campground could have used a bit of a mow, the beautiful views from the campsite made up for it. Annabelle’s warm and welcoming manner set the tone for a lovely visit, and our meal at Pica Pica restaurant was an absolute highlight — incredible food paired with a delicious sangria that quickly became a favourite. Overall, the stunning setting, friendly hospitality, and fabulous dining made our stay truly worthwhile. 🍷✨

Great spot to stay off grid with 6-7 individual sites on the property. Some sites are close enough together that you could stay with a group but still have your own space. Only one other caravan there when we stayed so we were very secluded and couldn’t see them directly from our site. Good size long drop toilet area with motion lighting for night use. Very clean. Hosts were friendly though we rarely saw them. $25 for a decent size container of firewood delivered to our site seemed pretty reasonable. It’s a natural area, so the sites have a small slope and you might need some extra caravan levellers pending your setup and site. Easy drive to Clare and Burra. Our dogs loved the property’s dam! Our favourite Hip Camp so far. 😊

Weekend Trip to Harry’s Rockleigh Bush Camp

My husband and I had a lovely visit to Harry’s Rockleigh Bush Camp, just a one night stay to try out a new swag tent. Harry is a great host, welcoming guests with information about the property and facilities. Toilets are available, as well as a camp kitchen. The property is located on a hillside, giving views across the hills, and is a nice quiet place for a recharge away from the city. It was nice to get a visit from the inquisitive hens that live on the property and chat with other campers. Big thanks to Harry for being an excellent host and helping us with a jump start when we needed it! We look forward to camping here again in the future.

Weekend Trip to Hallmark Farm Equine Retreat

We had a wonderful stay! The host was friendly and quick to reply, which made everything easy and welcoming. Our boys absolutely loved the horses — it was such a highlight for them to watch some horses being ridden and to be able to give them all pats. The property itself is beautiful, with lush green grass and open fields that gave the kids a real sense of freedom. The location was perfect too — close to gorgeous cafés and plenty of fresh local produce. We had a great time and would definitely love to come back!
