Vagabond Panorama Camp offers something truly special. Set your rig up and kick back at our hilltop campsites, with stunningly beautiful panoramic views of the Flinders Ranges and Spencer Gulf. The location is hard to beat. Fantastic for swimming, kayaking and fishing, with a nearby boat ramp. There's also a community garden and public BBQs close to camp, as well as a sandy beach with mangroves, and a walking track that takes you around the island. Campers must be self-contained as we don't have toilet or shower facilities. You'll have access to water onsite. And you're welcome to bring your pet along! Town is just 10-minute drive away for your essentials.

The property is fairly central to the localities of Laura, Stone Hut, Wirrabara, Melrose and Wilmington. Port Pirie is about 50km away if you need any major conveniences or supplies. You will need to be self-contained with your own camping toilet/shower and drinking water supply. We grow veggies on our land - if you would like some for your campfire dinner please ask me. Campfires are allowed. Dogs welcome.

You may meet any of the three different species of kangaroos, echidnas, or 85 species of birds including wedge-tail eagles and peregrine falcons who call Spear Creek home. The owner operators of this tourism business are fourth generation, whose families have been farmers and graziers on this land for over 130 years.

Enjoy a short hike to the Wind Turbines and see up close how magnificent these green energy windmills work. Or enjoy a hike along the famous Heyson Trail at the top of the range. Host approval required at booking. Pit toilet available, BYO toilet paper. Bin provided for waste. Please use this or take it home with you. There are livestock on the property, please do not approach livestock unless Host is with you. Just a short drive of 30 minutes to the town of Burra you can enjoy the Passport Key and see the rich heritage of the copper mining era. Jamestown is 25 minutes drive where you can explore the bundaleer forest or see the tesla battery.

Your site will be near a dry creek bed near large trees in an open space where you may explore freely within the Creek Paddock which is about 5 acres. This is a horse property, so getting close to a horse is a strong possibility. Sunset and sunrise on the Flinders Ranges are beautiful, as are the morning clouds when they push up over the ranges. Mt Remarkable and the range running northward is what you will see. You will be greeted by wildlife, including Kangaroo and Euro, bird life, and many smaller critters who may be surreptitiously checking you out. This is a natural space so the ground is undulating. Vans and campers will be able to level without issue providing you carry items to help you with this. The access is year-round with the exception of extreme fire danger periods. In summer it is dry and dusty. The site is located about 200 meters from the main house. **Please respect our privacy and that of my other guests and keep your wanderings to the Hipcamp Site of creek paddock boundary. This is also for your safety. **Check out is by 9am. This is important as I hold other activities onsite including Equine Assisted Learning and Rewilding Retreats, that require no interruptions or observers. **Pets must be physically restrained at all times. e.g. lead, crate. This is for the pets safety and that of the horses, livestock and wildlife on the property.
