Coober Pedy Views

13 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents2 acres · Coober Pedy, SA
Coober Pedy Views is located on the fringe of Coober Pedy and offers a unique outback camping experience for guests who are more adventurous and prefer privacy and a secure location. New Driveway is completed.... In 2019 I was sitting in my Alfresco Area feeling that the beauty offered in front of my property should be shared to people I thought might appreciate a different aspect to Coober. Since that time I have probably had 600+ guests enjoy what Coober Pedy Views has to offer. Whilst it remains a rustic type setting, with campers needing to be SELF SUFFICIENT (NO PUBLIC AMMENITIES AVAILABLE) I can offer Power (subject to availability) to 6/8 sites. Bookings can be made via Hipcamp.com and more information via WikiCamp.com

There is also an additional rubbish bin for convenience. Our glamping setup is for 2 adults only, perfect for romantic couple’s getaways, or two friends wanting to share some quality time together. There is a flushing portable toilet with handwashing facilities and small mirror, and a large shower area with a 20 litre solar camp shower. The homestead is approximately 500 metres away and screened from view by the flower paddocks for your privacy. *** No open fires permitted from 1 October to 31 April*** Guest Access We would like our Glamping guests to truly enjoy the experience on the flower farm. The area around your tent, bathroom and car parking space has been prepared for you to enjoy. The flower paddocks and other general paddocks are Private property and not accessible to guests. Please refrain from taking a stroll amongst the bushes and flowers as there are hazards such as irrigation lines, taps and not to mention the rabbit burrows and holes dotted around the property. You are on the property at entirely your own risk. We also operate farm machinery across the other areas of the property as we are a working commercial flower farm. Other details to note Please note - please take care when walking around your glampsite as there are areas of uneven ground and rabbit holes! No manicured lawns or picket fences here! No open fires (firepits) permitted from 01 October to 31 April. Please note - there is no power or electricity to this site. Please note - there is no running water to this site. Strictly Adults ONLY. Bugs and other unwanted guests! As our tents are in the heart of the flower paddocks and vineyards you will likely find some harmless insects sneaking into the tents from the vines; the main culprit is the tiny Portuguese millipede. While we thoroughly clean before/after each guest, we want you to know that you're likely to see them during your stay. These are totally harmless insects and can either be left alone (and they'll leave you alone) or you can use the insect spray we provide/pick them up in a tissue, or the dustpan and brush, and drop them in the waste bin, or outside. This is a normal part of life for anyone living on property in McLaren Vale with lots of open indoor/outdoor space. We hope you'll appreciate it as part of an authentic, real experience! To eliminate anything getting into the tent we strongly advise to keep all doors zipped up. We live in the homestead on property (but out of sight!), and far enough away to ensure your privacy. Our property IS NOT the one as you enter the property at the top of the track. We are happy to answer questions, offer local recommendations (some are already in our Welcome Pack for your information). Although we are not always available in person, we are available by phone.

Marron Bush Escape

7 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents250 acres · Western River, SA
Welcome to Marron Bush Escape, located in Gosse, in the Western River area (western end, near Flinders Chase National Park) of beautiful Kangaroo Island! This is a beautiful, remote, rural 250 acre private property, it is home to a number of sheep, features dams that have Marron and boasts the best that nature has to offer. Rest assured, you will not see any neighbours on this property; just picturesque landscapes everywhere you look! It is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from Penneshaw, where you get off the ferry. We offer powered and unpowered camp sites, as well as a bush, cabin. Camp fires (small) are allowed when fire restrictions allow. There is a fire pit that can be used when there is no fire ban, with barbecue plate and camp ovens for old-style bush cooking or cooking up your fresh organic Kangaroo Island Marron. There is a drop toilet at the back and external lights and an external kitchen sink with hot and cold water. There is one drop dunny and limited rain water (you are welcome to bring your own drinking water if you need extra). For your convenience, there are recycling and rubbish bins at corner of Snug and Colman’s Rd for all waste disposal. On half of our property we have sheep and lambs in the paddocks. Bring your camera, and you just might be lucky enough to see little lambs playing and even being born. We may also be shearing and invite you to see how this is done. The other half of the property is untouched natural scrub with grass and trees 12 foot tall. There are koalas, eagles, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and lots of other native animals and a creek with small waterfalls. In winter time the ground can be boggy, so a 4WD is desirable and will allow you to explore further. From the cabin, make your way down past the dams and go through the shiny gate at the bottom of the hill (please close the gate behind you). Here, you'll discover 125 acres of untouched Kangaroo Island wilderness with walking trails to explore. Keep an eye out for koalas, kangaroos, wedge-tail eagles, wallabies, large grass trees etc We also have two small lakes that you can have a picnic by or drop some Marron nets in for a fresh feed. There are weighing scales provided at the shed so you can pay for them. This is on an honesty system- so please do the right thing, as we have already been burnt from the fires. You must contact me if you wish to fish for marron prior to catching any. There are no shops or restaurants close by (stock up before arriving!) and you will need to travel down dirt roads but you will really have the opportunity to get off the grid, get back to nature and make memories in the stunning, untouched, Kangaroo Island wilderness! Local attractions include: Kelly Hill Caves Flinders Chase National Park Stokes Bay Cape Borda Lighthouse Middle River Western River

Mypolonga Sunshine

1 site · Lodging7 acres · Mypolonga, SA
Mypolonga is a small, diverse rural community (we won the Ag Town of the Year Award in 2022) between Murray Bridge and Mannum on the Murray River, with lots of birdlife. About 15 minutes up the road is Mannum Waterfalls - a beautiful place for enjoying nature, walking, climbing, and paddling in the rock pools. And, for interstate visitors, we are about an hour and a quarter from Victor Harbour, Adelaide, or the Barossa Valley. At Mypolonga Sunshine, I offer The Old Stone Dairy, a building that is over 100 years old and has been converted into a comfortable space to rest up for a night or several. It's not a luxury destination, but has a historic charm, and provides a farm-stay style experience. The property is 7 acres, and there are 3 horses, 2 dogs and 10 chooks also residing here. Dogs and other pets are welcome - you are even welcome to bring your own horse. We have a yard available for your horse, at a small additional cost per night (please add to booking via Extras).
