Set in a gully with a winter creek (Willow Creek) running through (dry in warmer months). Conveniently located within walking distance to the main street of Clarendon - five minutes to the Bakery and 10 minutes to the Royal Oak Hotel and General Store! The property offers the best views of Clarendon via a short walk to the top paddock. There is a limit of 2 private, protected campsites near the creek, each well-maintained and level, with scattered gum trees that provide lovely shade in the morning and afternoon. Camp Toondilla is set up for self-contained campers who bring their own camp toilet and take all waste with them when they go. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Plenty of options in the area to keep the outdoor enthusiast busy, including: nearby wineries (some dog friendly), beaches (Moana and Aldinga/Silver Sands can be driven on), reservoirs (Mt Bold - hiking and views) and (Happy Valley - hiking, running, kayaking, fishing), Onkaparinga National Park and Scott Creek Conservation Park, ForestrySA land (including TreeClimb, Bone Gully MTB and parkrun on Saturdays at The Avenues - Kuitpo (Your host is the Event Director). Bakery, General Store, Clarendon Bowling Club, Riverbend Reserve, Op-shop and Emprades (antiques shop) and Royal Oak Hotel all in the mainstreet of town. Along with historical buildings, you can relax in the local town or venture further.

We live in a beautiful hidden valley on 30 acres, We're joined by friendly dogs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, 2 lovely Camels, 2 cheeky pigs, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use. We run a sheep and cropping farm which creates beautiful camping grounds at the foot of the hills, just below the Heysen Trail. The campsites are located on the pasture paddocks of the farm with sheep roaming the area, so dogs on leashes at all times, and please pick up after them. With large distances between other campers, each site can cater for large groups, with no close neighbours. The sites are at least 2km away from busy roads, so absolute peace and privacy! There's a beautiful push bike ride from Riverton to Clare Valley and all the wineries are along the way. Plenty of room at the property for kids to ride their push bikes. Fantastic sunsets and sunrises from all sites, and at its best at the SUNSET BAA. Beautiful bird noises, including the kookaburras having a laugh. There's a very very basic "long drop toilet" pit toilet located near the Gumtree paddock and 5 others shared, down close to the camping paddocks, if not wanting to use shared toilets, please bring and supply your own portable toilet. Great Hotels/pubs to dine in at Tarlee and Riverton. Emporium cafe for the best coffee in Riverton Important Information to know before ALL GUESTS/VISITORS MUST BE BOOKED IN BEFORE ENTERING OUR PROPERTY!!! All campers must check in BEFORE 8pm. We are a Poll Merino sheep stud and a wheat/barley cropping farm at Emu Downs in the Mid North of SA. We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). Bring your own bedding. There is a flushing external toilet and a bush shower (ie: a shower bag, provided). The room with the open fire can be utilised as a kitchen/living area. We've provided crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles and a camp oven. There is running cold rainwater into the sink. Cooking can be done on the open fire, or use the small camp gas cookers. There is also a gas BBQ in the outdoor room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. There is no power, only lighting provided from a small solar panel/battery. Extra guests welcome in tents, swags or vans adjacent to the cottage. To ensure only one group of campers at a time, THE COTTAGE HAS TO BE BOOKED FIRST, then book the extra campers through the additional campsites listing. Eckert's Old Place is within an easy drive to the Clare Valley wine regions and historic Robertstown, Burra and Eudunda. Campfires welcome when not in fireban season. Thompson beach is approximately 20kms where you can put your boat in and enjoy some great fishing. We run a sheep and cropping farm which creates beautiful camping grounds at the foot of the hills, just below the Heysen Trail. The campsites are located on the pasture paddocks of the farm with sheep roaming the area, so dogs on leashes at all times, and please pick up after them. With large distances between other campers, each site can cater for large groups, with no close neighbours. The sites are at least 2km away from busy roads, so absolute peace and privacy! There's a beautiful push bike ride from Riverton to Clare Valley and all the wineries are along the way. Plenty of room at the property for kids to ride their push bikes. Fantastic sunsets and sunrises from all sites, and at its best at the SUNSET BAA. Beautiful bird noises, including the kookaburras having a laugh. There's a very very basic "long drop toilet" pit toilet located near the Gumtree paddock and 5 others shared, down close to the camping paddocks, if not wanting to use shared toilets, please bring and supply your own portable toilet. Great Hotels/pubs to dine in at Tarlee and Riverton. Emporium cafe for the best coffee in Riverton Important Information to know before ALL GUESTS/VISITORS MUST BE BOOKED IN BEFORE ENTERING OUR PROPERTY!!! All campers must check in BEFORE 8pm. If you are unable to arrive before 8pm, please make a booking for the following day instead. Generators are allowed on the unpowered sites, please respect other campers with turning them off by 10 pm at the latest. No chainsaws on property. We are a Poll Merino sheep stud and a wheat/barley cropping farm at Emu Downs in the Mid North of SA. We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). Bring your own bedding. There is a flushing external toilet and a bush shower (ie: a shower bag, provided). The room with the open fire can be utilised as a kitchen/living area. We've provided crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles and a camp oven. There is running cold rainwater into the sink. Cooking can be done on the open fire, or use the small camp gas cookers. There is also a gas BBQ in the outdoor room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. There is no power, only lighting provided from a small solar panel/battery. Extra guests welcome in tents, swags or vans adjacent to the cottage. To ensure only one group of campers at a time, THE COTTAGE HAS TO BE BOOKED FIRST, then book the extra campers through the additional campsites listing. Eckert's Old Place is within an easy drive to the Clare Valley wine regions and historic Robertstown, Burra and Eudunda. Campfires welcome when not in fireban season. Had an excellent time at this spot, tucked away on a nicely grassed area. Steve was more than welcoming. There was a zipline and swings for the kids to play and there are also some resident koala’s you can spot in the trees. We would definitely stay again if we head to South Australia again!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The whole farm is very tidy and well maintained, with lush green grass that was soft and comfortable underfoot. The campsite itself is flat and spacious, with plenty of trees providing great shade. Access was easy — we arrived in a sedan with no issues at all, and there were many convenient spots close to the campsite where we could park. Setting up our tarp and swag was effortless. The views over the valley were beautiful, and the site felt very quiet, private, and peaceful. The dogs on the property were friendly and lovely to be around, and the owner, Waren, was incredibly welcoming and kind. As a special highlight, we were even able to pick fresh cherries before leaving on our second day, which made the experience extra memorable. Overall, this was a perfect camping experience. We would absolutely love to come back again in the future.

Excellent spot at the cutting - u really do camp amongst the vines. Great location for exploring the surrounding location. Make sure u book the tasting with Belinda, which was excellent and interesting. Cheers

Great little spot off the main road and perfect distance to Clarendon township which offers a great pub and bakery. We were able to allow our dog to wonder without issue and would be great area for families. Would stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Toondilla 1. Beautiful spot, a wonderful nature getaway. The instructions were very helpful and accurate, the 2 sites are well maintained and far enough apart to ensure peace and privacy. There was plenty of level space for the set up of our camper trailer and annexe. Steve was a very welcoming host and provided great suggestions for exploring the surrounding area. We walked to the bakery for a coffee and pastry each day and enjoyed a meal from the hotel one evening. Would definitely recommend as a lovely camping spot and keen for another visit in the future.

I really loved the farm camp. The host was very kind and had a great sense of humour. They took us on a tour of the whole farm, and we got to pet most of the animals. The guinea pigs were super cute, and there were also calves, piglets, and little ponies! I absolutely loved the farm life. 🐮🐷🐹

Friendly welcome by hosts. A quiet location for our 5nt stay on an elevated grassy site with firepit provided. Plenty of room for our big rig (10m caravan & Ram 2500). Close to Adelaide CBD (20min drive). Perfect location to explore Adelaide Hills including Mt Lofty Summit & Uraidla Pub. Nearest dump point at Balhannah (10min drive) and close to major shops at Stirling (10mins).
