Situated 15 minutes from the North Queensland town of Tully, on record as being the wettest places in Queensland. We also encourage you to explore our 350 acres of bushland, rainforest and open grasslands or used us as a base to explore the surrounding environment including the stunning Tully Gorge National Park or the beautiful Mission Beach and Dunk Island or just chill out and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding farmland. Our campsites have near 300-degree views of the surrounding Tully Valley, down private gullies or open grasslands.
Other options in the area include sky diving, white water rafting, bush or coastal walking, swimming in pristine fresh or saltwater or star gazing this region has it all.
Pets are welcome but must be under control at all times.

We are fully off-grid, so you will need to be fully self-contained, a dump point and laundry mat is available in Tully if required.

You will have access to our beautiful peaceful surroundings, with adequate shelter under some lovely big trees park your camper or pitch a swag. We also have a nice running creek that you can enjoy watching our many wildlife that are present throughout the creek, fish, eels and turtles.
It's truly a very private and relaxing spot to chill out and enjoy camping for a few days or whatever suits your needs while passing the area. Plenty of fantastic swimming holes nearby including Josephine falls and Babinda boulders very popular spots for tourist and the locals.
Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ.
Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night.
Swimming in the creek is not recommended.
So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area.
Onsite we have our shared outhouse porta toilet which is positioned in the middle of both camping areas for everyone's convenience.

Our Hipcamp, (owners on site), is small scale to minimise environmental impact with six sites spaced well apart for privacy with each site catering for up to two adult guests only (18+) and one vehicle. (No pets because of wildlife). Solo travelers are encouraged to book, many who have commented how much they enjoyed staying, not feeling overwhelmed by large groups or too isolated.
If you are booking for others please let them know they will need to set up at their booked site. Please do not invite additional guests to enter the property.
You will need to be fully self-contained: own toilet, drinking water, shower.
Our Hipcamp is situated in a cool climate, away from the humidity of the coast. A highlight is beautiful permanent Flaggy Creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles and an abundance of bird life (we are close to an ebird hotspot) with towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. There are walks on mowed tracks around the property (look for large eastern grey kangaroos in the top paddock) including along a dam wall where you might spot herons or rainbow bee eaters (seasonally) and we can give you directions to a fire-trail to hike up to the Bluff. Herberton (10 mins) also has many excellent walking trails.
All camp sites have their own fire pit (local conditions and/or state fire ban season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own. Please do not bring firewood for biosecurity reasons.
During the wet season (December-April) we recommend 4WD to access the property as there is a concrete causeway creek crossing and on rare occasions this can become impassable with an extreme amount of rain but does go down very quickly once rain has eased. Please take care and go slowly on unsealed roads.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Nisha’s beautiful property. She was very friendly and accommodating and the kids really enjoyed helping feed the chickens and checking for eggs. Location is nice and peaceful and a great base for exploring the numerous local waterfalls.

What an amazing little hidden gem, the three campsites are so private, all on the creek and surrounded by nature. Right in the heart of the beautiful rainforest of far North Qld tablelands. So many birds, the weather is so much cooler than the coast and the hosts Alan and Sue are super friendly and make you feel at home on their gorgeous property. Suitable for totally self contained campers. We will definitely be back.

Stunning location, beautifully managed with gorgeous surrounds. I even got a luxurious massage off Miyuki-the owner. We DEFINITELY plan to come back (if there’s ever a vacancy - it’s generally booked up). Great weekend.

Great site - especially for children! Our preschool aged children enjoyed feeding the chickens and spotting for wildlife at night (though they were too loud to see much!) I was incredibly impressed that there were no mosquitos!!! Shame we only had one night - but it was worth it and the area surrounding is beautiful - stunning waterfalls, and they’re quiet with no other visitors first thing in the morning!

Fantastic stay at Platypus Lagoon!
We had a great experience here — the site was quiet, private, and easy to find. The area is spacious, flat, and beautifully shaded, making it really comfortable for camping. Perfect spot if you’re after a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature. Would definitely stay again!
