We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.
This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here.
No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

We are a working cattle farm with wide-open valleys and beautiful hills and ridges that beckon explorers. The peace and quiet here will fill your soul.
Guests are welcome to walk the property or fish in one of the farm dams. Swimming and paddling are perfect on a hot day, or simply relax and watch wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead and shy whiptailed wallabies grazing nearby. If you’re observant, you might even spot a koala dozing in a tree.
Our accommodation is a quaint old shearer’s shack — The Shack — lovingly refurbished and now featuring indoor amenities including a kitchenette, shower, and flush toilet.
It comfortably sleeps 4–6 people, with extra camp beds available for larger groups or two families holidaying together. The open-plan space features polished hardwood floors, comfortable furniture, and a cozy fireplace perfect for chilly winter nights.
Outside, there’s a firepit with firewood provided. There’s no electricity at The Shack, but solar lights, a solar-powered fridge, gas hot water, a gas BBQ, and a small gas stove ensure all the essentials are covered. Mobile reception is patchy — we encourage guests to put their phones aside, unwind, and let the outside world drift away while you reconnect with nature.
Dogs are welcome but must be secured at all times. There’s a dog-proof fence around The Shack, but it is the guests’ responsibility to ensure pets remain within the fenced area or on a lead when walking on the property.

Hidden Gem is a 600-acre cattle property just a stone's throw from Kilkivan and only three hours from Brisbane.
We are a working cattle farm with wide-open valleys and beautiful hills and ridges that beckon explorers. The peace and quiet here will fill your soul.
Guests are welcome to walk the property or fish in one of the farm dams. Swimming and paddling are perfect on a hot day, or simply relax and watch wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead and shy whiptailed wallabies grazing nearby. If you’re observant, you might even spot a koala dozing in a tree.
Our accommodation is a quaint old shearer’s shack — The Shack — lovingly refurbished and now featuring indoor amenities including a kitchenette, shower, and flush toilet.
It comfortably sleeps 4–6 people, with extra camp beds available for larger groups or two families holidaying together. The open-plan space features polished hardwood floors, comfortable furniture, and a cozy fireplace perfect for chilly winter nights.
Outside, there’s a firepit with firewood provided. There’s no electricity at The Shack, but solar lights, a solar-powered fridge, gas hot water, a gas BBQ, and a small gas stove ensure all the essentials are covered. Mobile reception is patchy — we encourage guests to put their phones aside, unwind, and let the outside world drift away while you reconnect with nature.
Dogs are welcome but must be secured at all times. There’s a dog-proof fence around The Shack, but it is the guests’ responsibility to ensure pets remain within the fenced area or on a lead when walking on the property.

Connect with nature and our wildlife, located on a picturesque 5 acre property with forest and dam views, very private, adventurous and romantic getaway for couples or friends. Solar powered eco cabin, requires 4WD to access. Top of property parking available for 2WD cars, requires approx. 100m walk to cabin. (luggage trolley available). One small well trained dog welcome, no dogs on furniture inside the cabin or extra cleaning fees might apply.
Enjoy the serenity, forest, creek, fire pit, watch the kangaroos and endless bird life from the outdoor daybed and cabin or a indulge in a relaxing soak in the hot tub. (Hot tub is about 50m away from the cabin, bit closer to the house as solar power would not cater, its private with amazing views. Needs to be pre-booked 24 hours in advance to allow heating)
Only short drive of the highway, close to Pomona, offering a wide range of cafes, restaurants, Distillery, Saturday markets, Majestic Theatre, best pub with regular live music and all other essential shops.

A lovely and peacful cabin at the bottom of the property and on the edge of the forest. Loved waking up to the birds and the frogs at night. Well equiped and nicely fitted out. Really enjoyed the fire pit.

This farm stay was the perfect escape for a night! The animals are all so friendly, and a nice surprise at the back door when waking up in the morning. The cabin had everything we needed with very comfortable beds, and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunset while sitting by the fire. Can't wait to come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the family bush cabin at Hope Valley. Anita is a very kind and hospitable host and the property is great to explore and to see animals including both domesticated and wild. The kids particularly enjoyed the animals and playing in and adventuring up and down the creek.
The family cabin is well appointed and has everything we needed to make the stay a great one. You definitely need a 4WD to get up the driveway to the cabin itself.
The outdoor hot tub (optional extra) is also great if of interest.
Hope Valley is a great location to get away from it all and to relax - we hope to return again in the future. Very highly recommended.
