Mugul Mountain Wilderness Retreat

Mugul Mountain Retreat is a 300 acre property adjacent to Mt Colosseum (or Mugul as it is called by the local Indigenous peoples). The property borders the national park of Mt Colosseum. Mugul is a sacred Indigenous site.Our property is home to a multitude of pretty face wallabies, kangaroos, bandicoots, goannas, possums and birds. A serene and peaceful place Mugul is a place where you can experience the energy of a sacred Indigenous site.Accessible for all types of vehicles. Dog friendly. The property offers basic camping without facilities. You will need to be self-sufficient. We have a bush toilet but no showers. At the house there are toilets and showers available for an extra charge please see us if required. Campfires permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place. You can purchase firewood from us (see Extras).  We prefer you to bring your own water, emergency supply can be arranged (we are on tank water). Patchy mobile reception.

Behind The Pines Kalpowar

Our property is an old school with a large oval, pine plantation, plenty of shade, tennis court and cricket field. Room for tents, vans, etc. Family friendly.Dog friendly. Toilet available (no shower). Campfires permitted in firepits when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood free.We are on the Bicentennial National Trail (BNT) and we are registered host for the Bicentennial National Trail users. It's a great base and we often have guests staying with lots of great stories to tell.We have farm animals guests are welcome to feed. We can loan you tennis racquets, balls and cricket equipment at no cost. Outdoor cinema available! Help in the garden in return for free produce.Splinter Creek is less than 500m walk and we are always lucky enough to spot the resident platypus whenever we go for walks. We live 18km from the beautiful Kolan River. Interesting disused train tunnels 2km from the property.

Montaban Farm Camping

Montaban Farm is 280 acres of rolling hills. You can set up on a flat, grassy site nearby a seasonal creek. You can chose to camp in the gully near the creek or from the top of the hill with a view of the hills. Access for all vehicles and camping set ups. 

In 5 minutes drive you'll find yourself in the town of Mulgildie where there is a great pub and a grocer.

Small fires okay, please bring your own firepit. 

In the centre of Mulgildie stands the sculpture of the Mulgildie Bunyip. Tourists are encouraged to visit the Bunyips watering hole approximately 10 minutes drive from Mulgildie, a place renowned for strange bubbling and churning waters.

There are national parks n the area which you can explore, where there is plenty of native wildlife and bush walks.

Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail

Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trailis an incorporated association aiming to facilitate a proposed development of the rail corridor from Taragoola (near Gladstone, Central Queensland), through the Boyne Valley, on to Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera and south through Gayndah.The corridor is an inland link between Gladstone and Gayndah, which has great potential to attract tourists in numbers. In time, our website will showcase all the attractions along the trail.

Off-grid Farm Camping

Pitch your tent or park your caravan on this beautiful block of land in country Queensland. 

Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. 

Guests are welcome to enjoy a campfire in the evenings and view the star filled sky.

The campsite onto council parkland and is located on the outskirts of town. It is a 5-10 min walk to shops and local pool with showers and toilets. 

Pets are welcome but please ensure you clean up after them.

Longer term stays are welcome.

Our property is a new permaculture farm on 20 acres in the stunning North Burnett Region. Enjoy total off grid camping just a stone's throw from the Burnett River. 

Bring your fishing gear and catch your tea at the nearby Kirar Weir and enjoy some of the best sunsets you will ever see. If bird watching is more to your taste, perch yourself on the top of the hill and spend the day spotting eagles, finches, parrots and more. Our wide open spaces make finding the local wildlife a breeze. 

We are located in the heart of cattle country and our local town of Eidsvold (only a few minutes away) showcases our long history. Visit the R.M Williams Bush Learning Centre and discover this heritage for yourself. Explore the local businesses and experience the very best of what country life in Australia is all about. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Leave no trace - there is no facilities here, guests will need to be self sufficient and bring their own camping toilet. There is no water or power provided. 

Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided.

Pets are allowed on leash.
