It's a lovely spot. My site (area 2) had no shade, so a tarp is essential.
I'll definitely revisit.

The view is spectacular. Absolutely stunning.
The campsite is incredible. We’ll set up with shade, fire pit, portaloo and cleared land, enough for plenty of tents, swags or camp trailers. The bath tub was amazing, nice and hot with the best view in the valley.
Road in and out was a bit of fun. Easy enough for novice 4x4 drivers but not to be underestimated.
We had an amazing stay and will definitely be doing it again.

Beautiful campsite with some of the best views we experienced in the region. Amenities were clean, practical, and appreciated after long days exploring. A short drive to Christmas Creek where you can swim in the creek. Sites are spaced well apart. Highly recommend having experience with a proper 4wd though. Ruts are deep and the journey up to the look out isn’t for a basic road vehicle with highway tires… lots of birds, butterflies and kangaroos 🥰

Great campsite at Sundown! Had awesome views, particularly for sunset, and even with other sites nearby, you felt like you were alone. A 4WD is required to explore the tracks around the property. Amenities were awesome - the shower shed was a quirky and fun touch!

Site 7 – Sundown at Larapinta
What an unforgettable camping experience. The views were absolutely stunning, especially at sunset — worth the trip alone.
Our beautiful (and very nosy) cow visitors provided top-tier entertainment. A few decided to sample our tent, and when firmly told that tents are not on the menu, one cow kicked the front bumper of our 4x4 in protest. Clearly unimpressed. All cows were gorgeous, healthy, and very well cared for — just a little cheeky.
We also had kookaburras silently judging our hamburgers at dinner and then inviting themselves to breakfast the next day. The amusing audacity.
The campsite itself is very spacious and nicely distanced from other sites — we didn’t see another camper the entire time, which made it wonderfully peaceful. The ground isn’t perfectly flat but still perfectly suitable for a tent. The fire pit is well set up with plenty of rocks to contain the fire.
A few things to note: definitely bring your own shower and toilet, as the provided facilities are over 500 metres downhill. There’s minimal natural shade near the campsite, so an awning or gazebo is essential. The access tracks are very rocky and are strictly 4x4 only. We loved taking a quiet drive to and from our site.
Falling asleep to birds, cows and cicadas and waking up to uninterrupted views was pure bliss. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would happily return — cows, sass and all.

Second time here, beautiful pier of property with amazing views and good facilities. The climb up is not for beginners I’d definitely bring someone along with you who knows what they’re doing, 4x4 is a must. Great site, very clean kangaroos and cows everywhere it’s tranquil

My daughter and I loved our stay at Larapinta. The view from site 2 was great. Nicely elevated with good shade. Loved the drive around the property, just take it nice and slow. Will definitely come back and try other sites of the property.

We only stayed one night, but it was well worth it — definitely a place we’d love to return to for at least 2–3 nights. The outlook across the lake was beautiful. The whole family, adults included, loved the waterslide and rope swing at the small dam. We wish we’d had more time to explore the big lake as well. There was lots of birdlife and turtles around. Campsite well spaced from others and spacious enough to spread out.

Fantastic spot! Beautiful lake for swimming and paddling. Awesome slip and slide into the water (BYO petrol for generator for water pump). Can have well behaved dogs and fires. Mostly unpowered, all BYO water. Probably the best thing is the large camp sites - I hope they don’t change this too much. Owners very friendly.
