4WD Recommended - dirt/gravel road and two creek crossings (through the creek bed) to get here. We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest. There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. Bunya Red Farm is a 160 acre mixed farm in the South Burnett, with awesome 360 degree views looking out to the beautiful Bunya Mountains and over farmland. We have cattle; alpacas; grow capers, peanuts and other seasonal crops. The farm also enjoys a sky full of stars at night with the lights of Kingaroy and wind farm sparkling in the distance. Bunya Red Farm is 8 kms off the Bunya Highway, with the last few kilometres of gravel road accessible by 2WD, motorhomes or buses. TV and mobile reception is excellent. Pet friendly (see rules). Campers must have own amenities for their chosen site and leave no trace. Campfires permitted but check with hosts first regarding local fire bans before lighting a fire. 4WD required for some sites only if camping in the wet.

If you want to bring the family - PERFECT - as there is rock pools, floating pontoons, diving boards and modern play equipment located on-site. No need to worry about packing the fridge, as there is a Local town 7kms for essentials. The rocky creek lodge is a fully equipped area with all your essentials for cooking BBQs from an indoor open BBQ to an outside fire pit or a simple oven. The lodge consist of two double beds, a set of bunks and a fold out futon in lounge room. The lodge has a fully equipped toilet, shower and basin which consist of a hot water system. Spend your time enjoying all types of water sports - kayaking, relaxing on a floaty or just a lovely swim- and a spot of fishing as we restock the dam every couple years. Some of the most popular catches are Golden Perch (or Yellowbelly) and Australian Bass with Silver Perch also stocked in the dam. Our family had such a wonderful weekend away at Anita’s beautiful property. It was so peaceful, we explored the area on foot, along the creek and also in our 4WD up to a lookout high on the ridge. The horses visited us at our cabin several times, which was a highlight. The cabin was so private we felt like we had the property to ourselves. Definitely need a 4WD! And the drive to Anita’s property is so beautiful too.

What an amazing place to stay. The house's were very nice. We stayed 2 nites and it was just so relaxing. The creek behind was great to take our chairs to and sit in. Wasn't much water as not much rain but was still beautiful. We definitely will be back

The firepit area is shady during the day and close to the creek. Lots of birdlife and we spotted possums, marsupial mice, platypus and wallabies. Host Jimmy is very helpful and welcoming and his directions are clear.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing stay! The tent was cozy and beautifully set up, with all the comforts we needed while still feeling close to nature. Honestly the nicest cabin we have ever stayed in. Exceptionally clean and very comfortable and cosy. Plenty of open space outside and great big firepit which we enjoyed. Cleanest composting toilet i have seen so far, can't say I'm much of a fan of them due to bad experiences but this one was very clean and well maintained. The property is beautiful and we had a great time exploring and hiking up to the Ridge, what a view! We had such a wonderful trip and will definitely be back again and again.

I loved the retro caravan, it was like camping in nature but with a comfy bed and a patio with comfy furniture overlooking the beautiful creek. My dog loved being off leash at the creek and on walks. There were also quiet private camp spots. Paul was a great host, very welcoming and helpful and has kept the land natural and peaceful. I'll definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabins were clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room around them for our caravan and campervans. The fire pit is surrounded by a concrete slab, which was great. It's a lovely property, which is within easy reach of lots of great parts of the region. We hope to be back for a summer trip to enjoy a sit in the creek!
