1 night at Barrine Farmstay And Camping

Lovely peaceful farmstay surrounded by cows and chooks, and it was so good to hear roosters crowing in the morning. Not to mention fresh laid eggs! The weather didn't allow us to have a campfire unfortunately - maybe next time. A nice short drive from Cairns with plenty of contact pre-visit.

Fabulous site near the creek. So peaceful and relaxing! Beautiful butterflies, birds and fish in the creek.

3 nights at Hectic Valley Farm

We camped at Pandanus which was a large, partly shaded site. Access is via a shorter, 4WD track, or the chicken track around the dam. There are no facilities so self sufficiency is a must. We had a lovely time; fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, petting cute animals, but most of all relaxing. The night sky is unbelievable.

3 nights at Hectic Valley Farm

We loved waterside campsite as the view of the dam was lovely. It was a great site to introduce kayaking to the children. They loved the animal feeding and wanted to take home the baby goats and chickens. Kirsty and her parents were helpful and friendly. We can't wait to come back to stay again.

Loved camping at Hectic Valley - water lily campsite. Was private and most of the time peaceful. Could definitely hear the road noise at night, but overall a beautiful spot close to Mareeba to getaway 😊 Thank you Kirsty!

3 nights at Tropical Woopen Creek Camping

We had a great time at Tropical Woopen Creek Camping, the camp area is huge with a creek wrapping around it. Heaps of room for the kids to play frisbee and cricket and only an hour from Cairns. There is even a toilet to use. We will definitely be back!! Thank you Larry and Miyuki!!!

Had the best girls weekend here, so peaceful and great atmosphere, couldn’t recommend it enough. The facilities were a 10/10 and Will definitely be returning again one day and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway. Thank you Emma for having us!

Great spot, camping on a cleared paddock in a quiet hilly area. Good clean shower and toilet facilities. Limited shade so best to byo. A couple of other campers were sharing the paddock of approx 2 acres but had plenty of room. Had fun patting the cows and feeding the chooks. Recommended if you're just getting started camping and want to ease your way into it, testing your camping setup or if you just want the feeling of camping without the hassle of making your own toilet and shower. Good for a couple of nights. Take a good book, comfortable chair and relax.

We absolutely loved our time at Barrine Farm stay. The rolling hills in the background, the small dam with swimming ducks, it was so serene. Just the spot we needed to relax for a peaceful trip. Our daughter had a wonderful time saying hello to the resident cows and chickens and also enjoyed watching the birds and ducks around. The facilities were kept well too and were easy to access from our campsite. The logs for fire were also a bonus! Emma and Steve were so lovely and welcoming, true hospitable locals! We would've stayed another night but couldn't due to personal reasons. Just means another trip in the future is due!

3 nights at Tropical Woopen Creek Camping

A peaceful and quiet paradise, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Every morning, we enjoyed feeding the fish and turtles, which my little one absolutely loved. The availability of toilets was a great convenience during our stay. The area is teeming with wildlife, including possums, butterflies, and birds. Nearby, we explored Etty Bay, a fantastic spot to encounter cassowaries and goannas. It's also a secure place to leave your valuables while you venture out on excursions during the day. Highly recommended—though the wood bundle was a bit pricey.

1 night at Hectic Valley Farm

We stayed with our camper trailer at cattle creek. It was so beautiful. We had lots of fun with our kayaks on the water and spending time with the animals in the morning. We enjoyed that there is limited sites and that the sites arent to close to each other. Absolutely love this spot and will be back.

Had a really great camp over Easter at Chhaya. The site is really beautiful, the dog had a great time, the the facilities are very nice! The site having posts and solar lighting made setting tarps up and lighting at night really easy. kanwal, the host, is very friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back again!

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Happy Valley despite the wet weather - truly a hidden gem! Carl was very helpful and accomodating in the lead up, and the creek was absolutely stunning.

5 nights at Hectic Valley Farm

We spent 5 nights at Waterlily Campsite over Easter. Great spot for a large group. Very private. Would not know there were other campers until you go out to the dam. The little folk had a great time at the animal feeding.

Hectic Valley Farm is located at Mutchilba on 100 acres within the beautiful Atherton Tablelands, North Queensland. Spacious campsites are beside or near a massive dam that attracts a great variety of bird life and the amazing sunsets are different each day. 🌅 Three spacious spots are available a few short meters from the edge of a large dam (sites can be seen from the farm road) with another completely secluded site amongst the bushland. Bird watchers dream with the constant residents and seasonal birds flying in for the dam. Swim, kayak, catch and release fish, throw in a RedClaw pot or hunt for mussel clams. Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks. Meet the Farm Animals where campers can chat with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, buffalo, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo. We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer. Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s. You will have access to our beautiful peaceful surroundings, with adequate shelter under some lovely big trees park your camper or pitch a swag. We also have a nice running creek that you can take a cooling down soak in or just enjoy watching our many wild life that are present throughout the creek, fish , eels and turtles. It's truly a very private and relaxing spot to chill out and enjoy camping for a few days or whatever suits your needs while passing the area. Plenty of fantastic swimming holes nearby including Josephine falls and Babinda boulders very popular spots for tourist and the locals. Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ. Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek but still with your own small dirt track down to the creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night. So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area.
