We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Dead Tree Alley. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Guy, our friendly and down-to-earth host, who went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. He was warm, hospitable, and happy to have a chat, which added a personal touch that made the experience even more special. The campsite itself was incredible — private and peaceful, with just the right amount of distance from the amenities (the toilets and showers were clean and easily accessible). Waking up to panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys was breathtaking, but the real magic came at night. The clear skies lit up with stars, offering a dazzling show that we’ll never forget. We loved wandering around the property, meeting the curious and friendly farm animals, and soaking in the serenity of nature. There’s a sense of freedom and connection to the land here that’s rare to find. Whether you’re after a peaceful retreat or a bit of adventure, Dead Tree Alley ticks all the boxes. We’ll definitely be back — and we can’t recommend this little slice of paradise highly enough. Thank you, Guy, for sharing your beautiful space with us!

This is a beautiful spot for a relaxing, calm trip away. The views are beautiful, sites are great and amenities are well kept. There are animals and a creek and plenty of space so it’s a great place for kids and families! Bear in mind it is close to a highway so you do hear a little road noise but besides that it is great! The host is lovely and very accomodating! I would definitely recommend One Tree Hill!!

We had a fantastic stay at Red Gum Hill. Guy was a lovely and welcoming host, and the campsite was beautifully maintained. We stayed at a private spot tucked away at the back—peaceful and perfect for a quiet getaway. There were easy trails along the creek where our dogs had an absolute blast exploring. One of the highlights was meeting Guy’s beloved rescue animals—such a special and heartwarming experience. We’ll definitely be back!

This is our second time visiting Guy’s land, that was still very wonderful trip. Guy’s family are very friendly, nice and easy to talk with. We can see more animals compared to last time we visited, kids had fun with animals and especially for the new born little sheep, she is really super cute, my daughter can’t stop to talk about it.

Weekend Trip to Nine Mountains Glamping

No hotel, hostel, airbnb, campground or anywhere we've ever stayed has come close to the level of care and thoughtfulness that Nine Mountains Glamping has been created with. From little nooks in the table next to the hot tubs for your wine glass, to extra hooks on the bathroom door for robes, to citronella candles for any bugs (which weren't an issue at all), a choice of matches or lighters for the fire, the butter being pre-cut up into usable knobs, turf outside the tent entrance so you can put your shoes on comfortably, the world's most comfortable hammocks with pillows included...the combination of Greg's beautiful woodwork and clever craftsmanship with Lou's eye for every detail of comfort and practicality you could ask for and the beautiful pocket of the world they have here is an absolute recipe for a joyful weekend. The guest book is full of all sorts of people saying "this was just what we needed" - in this crazy world with the bustling lives we all live Lou has generously poured her heart into creating a wonderfully peaceful sanctuary.

2 nights at Nine Mountains Glamping

We recently stayed at Nine Mountains Glamping to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was an experience we’ll never forget. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by serenity—it truly is nature at its most peaceful and soul-nourishing. The setting is absolutely breathtaking. Tucked away in the heart of the Glasshouse Mountains, this glamping retreat offered us the perfect blend of luxury and stillness. Every detail, from the cozy furnishings to the outdoor bath under the stars, has been so thoughtfully designed—it’s clear that a lot of heart has gone into creating this space. A special thank you to our incredible hosts, Lou and Grey. They were so welcoming and warm, and they’ve genuinely thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and unforgettable. From the little touches to the big comforts, nothing was missed. Sipping coffee with a mountain view, unwinding in the outdoor bath, and simply breathing in the beauty around us—it was the perfect way to celebrate someone I love so deeply. We left feeling relaxed, inspired, and so grateful for the experience. Nine Mountains is a true sanctuary. We can’t wait to return.

The Black Stump area was fantastic, huge area. Felt nicely isolated from other campers. Will be returning. Had some early morning rain and it is definitely 4wd only. Towing small van I was in low range and locker on.

Had the best over night camp at the Rustic Resort. Stayed at campsite dolittle. Was perfect for the two of us. Had afew campers around us at other sites but didn’t take too much notice of them. Had the full on camp experience, beautiful fire going, damper, drinks under the stars, in bed then it rained during the night. Upon rolling up our swag out came a centipede and a baby red belly black snake, from underneath thankfully😅 would 100% stay again. Beautiful property and get away from busy city life.

The property and campsite was beautiful. I would give this place 5 stars! We loved our stay here. From Gus the friendly sheep to all the other beautiful animals which we got to see be fed. We stayed at Moreton Bay Ashgrove campsite and enjoyed a beautiful view. The trails around the property and hammock swing were a nice touch.

Cool property with well designated spots, fun tracks, right next to Wamuran, clean toilets and in summer has to be great to go for a swim in the dam. Owners are a welcoming and friendly. Will go again if I want to camp close to home.

Absolutely loved camping by the dam and getting to meet the lovely cows and seeing the two goats and listening to all the different birds aswell as absorbing all the beautiful scenery. Doris and Pete are so lovely and you can really see the passion and love they have put into the land, 10/10 would recommend and have already spread the news between family members. Will definitely be returning. Thank you for all the hard work you both do, it really shows :)

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are just an hour - a stones throw - from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. It's now a family hobby farm and a bush camping venue. We currently have two dogs, a handful of cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of (unpowered) sites, ranging from elevated with views of the valley, or closer to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley and are the preferred choice for the free range horses and cows to spend their time. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. These sites are not suitable for caravan access. LOWER SITES are closer to the creek and to facilities such as toilets, a powered shed, kettle, microwave, fridge and a sink. Most of these sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. So we are able to allocate you the most suitable site, when submitting a booking request please include your vehicle make &model, camping setup (tent/swag/4WD camper trailer/caravan etc) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs) . Include your preference for an elevated or lower site (please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant). Other things to note: • Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. • We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. • No 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved booking through Hipcamp. • Phone reception is patchy. • Firewood is available for purchase on site. Cash preferred. • This is a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you. • Fires must be properly extinguished prior to departure.

Welcome to 'Bares Hideaway', a 43 acre property nestled away from prying eyes in a secluded valley along the Liverpool Ranges in Grandchester. We are a short 1 hr drive from Brisbane and Toowoomba surrounded by acres of bushland. We are a 10 minute drive from Rosewood and Laidley where you will find cafes, supermarkets, fuel and a variety of other things to enjoy. Our lovely campground will accommodate swags, tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We also have ice for sale. We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. Things to do and see: The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality. Spicers Hidden Vale is approximately 6km away and perfect for bike riders. Rosewood train museum showcases steam locomotives and Grandchester scale model rail rides run once a month. All sites are unpowered. Generators are welcome between 7am and 9pm. PRICE. $25 per night Max 2 people. $10 per night for any extra people on that site. $5 for kids 5 years to 12 years. We are a 90acre private property who raise cattle and goats and have opened up to campers who, like us, prefer and love peace and nature. We have all of our sites on Booking request ( Reserve). Please check that you are ok with our property rules before you book. If you are one of our valued regulars, thank you, we love hosting you on the property and always look forward to see you again. If your preferred site is not available , shoot us a message , we may have an alternative for you:) Our rules are really not rocket science, don't take things that are not yours, use the toilets instead of our bush, don't cut down trees or damage things, that includes damaging trees, don't leave anything but ash in the firepit ,make sure the fire is fully extinguished, remove your rubbish and respect and consider your fellow campers and our neighbours. Axe throwing has recently become popular within the city, if you must try it on the property , bring a board, our trees are not to be used as targets. Stay out of our gated paddocks. This is for Biosecurity and your safety. We are trying to create peace and tranquility that people crave so much when they get out of their busy lives. We are not the place for rowdy parties or large groups ( unless you would like to book out the entire property) Most of our sites are nestled on different levels between trees and bush so you will feel like you are the only ones there. You are welcome to have a campfire in the provided fire pit or drum when there is no fire ban in place, however due to the unique surroundings we offer, we do require you to be extra vigilant with fire safety. You are most welcome to use your own off the ground firepit anywhere in your site. Please read site descriptions carefully as we have sites that are substantially different in access, privacy , level ground and distance to a toilet. We affectionately call our property "The Rustic Resort". This is a tribute to the rusty water tanks and dilapidated animal shelters that were left behind when we moved in. Our farm was once part of a thriving rural property in the 1920's. It used to be a dairy farm and then a banana farm. We now raise goats and cattle. Our property is dog friendly to responsible dog owners, we are happy for your pups to be off lead as long as you are the one in control. We have a large farm dam that never runs dry, (NO fishing please as we use this for livestock and swimming, and the last thing we need is hooks in peoples or animals feet. ) It is wonderful for a refreshing swim, there is a ladder to make it easier to get into the dam and during the summer months there are floating noodles for your use. Feel free to bring your paddle boards and canoes. We are centrally located to explore the Glass house mountains ( 20mins), Stoney creek (15min), Rocky holes (35min), Bribie island (40 min), Woodford (10min), Mt Mee (10min), Montville, Maleny (40min) and much, much more. We are 10 minutes from Woodford and the wonderful Woodford Folk Festival. "White Ridge Farm" in Elimbah is only 20 minutes from us, and the kids will love the interactive farm experience and cuddling the baby animals. Wamuran town centre has has an IGA, a wonderful butcher, bakery, bottle shop, 24 hour servo, a rural supply shop, fish and chip shop, a new pizza place and a Thai/Indian take away that is sensational. Wamuran holds a local country market every 4th Saturday per month from 7am to midday. There is a Woodfire pizza van in town 2 out of 4 weekends, look up Deadwood Pizza Wamuran to check the dates. We love them. If you would like to stay longer but feel like you need a shower occasionally, there is a public pool in Woodford and a public pool on King Street towards Caboolture , both are about a 10/15 minute drive from us. Wamuran is less than an hour north from the city, yet you will feel like you are far away.
