Located 19 km due east of the famous historical village of Tenterfield the working, cattle breeding, property "Mindoo" has recently opened its gates to campers.
Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others.
For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done.
Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided.
Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart.
As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans.
If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction.

Trackside at Undercliff Farm is designed with motorbike riders in mind, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy the thrill of riding on our expansive 325-acre property. The 10 designated sites, marked by tyres around plane trees, provide a comfortable and accessible base to rest after a day of adventure.
Located a short walk from our amenities and shelter, Trackside offers easy access to everything you need while remaining immersed in nature. While there are no powered sites, we do allow generators.

One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking.,
Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. But if your dog is not friendly or is likely to venture into someone else camping area, than will have to be on a leash.
If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them.
One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities.
Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m high waterfall, nature at it's best. In the vicinity you have the Clarence river at Paddy's Flat Road and Hootons Road within minutes drive from the property.
The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road.
Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away.
Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km.
Once a working cattle property, in 1993 was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise.
Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property.
The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

Bajimba Eco Camp is part of our stunning family property nestled in the surrounds of Mt Bajimba in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, 40 minutes south east of Tenterfield.
Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm.
Accommodation options include "West View “situated at our highest elevation with incredible views from the deck, and "Bullock Camp" which can accommodate tents, caravans or motor homes.
When making travel arrangements, note we are in NSW and therefore are 1 hour ahead of QLD during day light savings months. It is encouraged if possible that guests arrive before 6pm to ensure a smooth and stress free check in to camp. Being able to experience the sunset is all a part of your Bajimba stay!
Amenities for both sites include an ablution block with hot shower and composting toilet, with steam sauna and wood-fired hot tub available by appointment. Please call at time of booking if hot tub and sauna facilities are required (especially for same-days bookings). Wood fired hot tubs require four hours to heat appropriately. Also note that all toiletries are provided to ensure that our critical farm ecosystem is maintained.
When staying at “West View”, we supply Tea, Coffee, Muesli, Full Cream Milk, fresh Eggs from our Hens, Salt & Pepper, Olive Oil, Cast Iron cook ware and a portable sink for cleaning Utensils etc. Also supplied are Plates, Knives & Forks etc. Portable Gas Cooker also supplied if not using the Fire Pit.

What a hidden gem of a place. We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin, from the moment we arrived we enjoyed every second. It’s such a private, peaceful spot and the scenery and river were simply magnificent. Both kids and adults had a blast spending the whole day in the river. For off-grid campers we were spoiled and appreciated the hot shower, flushing toilet and water for washing up. Jess was lovely and took the time to come and meet us, bringing some lucerne for the cows. We were also lucky enough to have a resident peacock visit who clearly loved his watermelon treat. So sad to leave and we can’t wait to return.

Really great cabin in an even better location! My partner and I loved our stay in the cabin. There was plenty of space inside with everything you need and we felt very secluded with lots of privacy. There was cows roaming around which you could feed and a beautiful peacock walking about. The property has plenty lots to offer and explore with a walking trail we found and an unbelievable creek which was great for a swim and to explore. Jess was super helpful and friendly too and even checked in on us when a storm rolled through. Would highly recommend!

Our extended family had a great stay at Brushtales cabin with lovely spots next to the cabin to pitch tents.
Having all the facilities of the cabin made camping so easy and comfortable. Its a beautiful spot by the river. The kids loved everything about it and feeding Colin 110, was a highlight. We'd definitely come again. Thanks Jess

Beautiful night spent in the Bell tent up the top of the property! Stunning views and so lovley watching the storm roll in!
We hired the wood fired hot tub which is 300mtrs down from the tent next to Merv's cute little home!
The bed was so comfortable, they have everything you need to enjoy your stay!

It is so quiet and picturesque, the view is amazing. Jess has kept it simple yet everything you need is there. We went gold fossicking down the road for a bit of fun. There is a local shop nearby with the bare necessities at a reasonable price. Loved having a fire place .

Weekend Trip to BAJIMBA Eco Camping and Farm Stay
One of the most thoughtful, private & romantic escapes! Merv and his wife have done a beautiful job at creating a unique escape that mixes comfort & romance with nature & back-to-basics.
Fresh eggs from their chickens and a bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely touch. The tent comes equipped with everything you’d need to enjoy your stay, including warm ponchos for the cooler months. The hot sauna & hot tub under the stars is a MUST DO! We didn’t want to get out!
The absolute cherry on top is that this is all dog friendly - such a rare find but it made our stay even more special to be able to share it with our fur-baby.

Weekend Trip to BAJIMBA Eco Camping and Farm Stay
Best few days away we've had in a very long time. So private, so beautiful and such a thoughtful and generous host. The bell tent setup is perfect, so many kind and luxurious additions. The woodfired hot tub was a highlight, at sunset, with lanterns set around on far-off fence posts and the steam and smoke from the tub ~ ugh just magical ✨✨
Thank you so much, I still love looking at all our photos and remembering.
