15km or 20 minutes from Cairns City Centre and 10 minutes from Coles or Woolies in either direction. (Please note Gordonvale Woolies is closed on Sundays, Mount Sheridan shopping centre has Kmart, Coles and Woolies).
A cane train line runs across the front of the property so during cane season the trains come past a few times during the day and night. They can be noisy but are fairly quick.
Fresh and crystal clear swimming hole/ creek at the end of the road if you continue west down Maitland Road. Please stay in the front block and before the horse stables. Guests must be self-contained with their own toilet facilities.

Absolute hidden gem, Kris and Emma are the best hosts, so accomodating and friendly. They helped us with some local knowledge and made sure we were all set up and comfortable during our stay. We came during some heavy rain and they were more than happy for us to drive into their barn and stay in there so we had some cover for our stay. We were only supposed to stay one night but ended up staying 3. So central to everything you could need and lots of amazing things to see around here. Would 100000% recommend!!

Nice grassy campsite with plenty of room, unfortunately no direct access to river at the site but can access river near the house. Hosts are genuine lovely people and very welcoming. Short drive into Malanda for supplies. We purchased their firewood for our portable pit which was great. Bunch of friendly cows may visit and our dog loved playing with Connie the border collie, will stay again soon.

Our stay with Allan was absolutely beautiful.
He greeted us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome and safe!
The land was beautifully maintained, flat and gorgeous to relax in.
We have two little kids (5&3) and we also have a 22ft caravan and this stay was perfect for us.

Oh boy, this place has such special nurturing energy. I loved every moment spent here and was sorry to have to leave!
Al is an excellent host and the space is truly so beautiful and soothing. One of my all time favourite places to camp for how well I rested! The creek is beautiful, a perfect walk for a morning cuppa or lunchtime escape from the sun. The grounds themselves are so well maintained and are stunning and spacious.
The nature envelopes you here in a way that truly makes you feel held.
I really cannot recommend this hipcamp enough hey. Definitely book this place if you are thinking of doing so, u will be SO happy you did!

Allan was a wonderful host, the site is fantastic, clean and well maintained. Wildlife is close to Mission Beach which makes it an awesome bascamp for exploring the region and all its offerings. The wildlife was plentiful with wallabies and lots of birds. Put this one high on your list if you’re looking for a quiet Basecamp retreat for exploring the Cassowary Coast.

Lovely bit of land next to some curious horses, the guy who owns it came down and spoke to us and was brilliant and so friendly, he told us some places to go visit nearby (which we did and they were beautiful). No flies/mosquitoes bothered us and a lovely sunset here. Would definitely stay again, thank you so much!!! We wish you all the best 😊😊

Exceptional private property surrounded by hills and sugar cane farmland. Plenty of room to spread out on beautifully manicured grounds with electricity hook up only. No amenities.
Easy drive to Cairns CBD, 20 mins.
Host very accommodating, gave exact directions/info once booked. Definitely recommend and will revisit if in the area.
