In Queensland, just north of the NSW border, in the Running Creek area of the "Scenic Rim". The nearby National Park is Mt Chinghee, which is part of the Shield Volcano Group of the World Heritage Site Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.
We have grassed valleys and forested hills, which provide the perfect setting for bush walking, bird watching, star gazing, or just relaxing. All of our camp sites are well separated from each other. If it's total seclusion and privacy you're after, "Fig Tree" and "Ridge Top" would be perfect for you. While "The Old Hut", and "Washout" are closer to the road, they are not visable to each other. Our newest addition., "The Reserve" is tucked away on the banks of a special shady grassed area with lots of room to spread out.
Guests staying with us must have their own toilet/shower facilities and take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. The sites are accessible for 4WD only.
Get back to nature and explore.
Many native animals have been spotted on the property wallabies,
possums, echidnas, goannas, bandicoots, dingos, and koalas as well as a large variety of birds. Also a variety of frogs i.e.. Red/orange eyed tree frog, desert tree frog, white lipped tree frog, striped and spotted marsh frogs, striped rocket frog and stoney creek frogs. ( see how many different calls you can hear)
This beautiful 200acre property in Camp Creek is part of the original
"selection" by William Dimmock in 1895. It was a dairy farm, and at one stage the family grew market garden crops on a plateau high up the mountain, using a flyingfox to bring the crops down.
Originally the property took in "Screw Gully" from Glenapp up to Tartar Creek Rd. In the 60's Jim Dimmick (grandson to William) sold out and the land was sub-divided. The property now supports up to 40 head of breeding cattle and 2 retired horses.
Scenic Rim hosts local wineries; restaurants and coffee shops, and Mt Tamborine, all within an hour drive. Only a 1.5 hour drive to the Gold Coast.

Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee.
Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp.
Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent.
Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east.
Campers & Day Trippers Rules:
The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple
guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park.
By using this park you agree to the following rules.
All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed
limit.
Fires must be extinguished prior to departure.
Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all
rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so
the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish.
It must be taken with you!
The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in
fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the
creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem!
Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set
up on top of other campers.
Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of
2pm to 6pm.
Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all
times.
No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users.
No antisocial behavior.
No camping on creek banks.
No playing around toilet block area.
No livestock to be kept on the park.
No cutting down trees.
No person to travel in the load area of vehicles.
No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between
your campsite and the road.
No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones
or fireworks allowed in the park.
No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek.
No washing dishes or clothing in creek.
No hitting of Golf balls.
No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok).
No swings to be tied to trees.
Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance
will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for
trespassing.
Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use
of the park.

We do try and clean the camp sites but sometimes they do there business after we have cleaned up. So if you don't like cow poo maybe our place is not for you.

Campgrounds were clean and the view was insane. Perfect weekend getaway. Barry is also super nice and takes great care of his campground.
P.S. Some campers left their floaties in the creek, we retrieved them and put them near the toilets, hopefully they find them.

This place is phenomenal. The surrounding area and views are stunning, the grounds are very well kept and tidy. On site toilets are clean and the provided hand soap is a nice touch.
We were not bothered once during our camp, and felt very comfortable.
Had so much fun exploring along the creek and dipping our feet in.

The grounds and amenities were very well kept and Barry was a great Host. We had a caravan and arrived on Saturday morning for a one night stay. Unfortunately it made getting a flat site a little tricky, but apart from that a great weekend. Running Creek across the road was gorgeous and a great place for a cool dip.

This is our first Hipcamp experience. It was so easy and stress free. Heather is a lovely host. She escorts you to the site - so you can't get lost. The Washout site is great. Freshly cut grass, clean & quite private. Hiking tracks around the property too. The cows & calves are such a joy. Waking up to them eating away behind the fence was a highlight for our daughter. Our dog also loved it, lots of grass to run around on.

Beautiful open area, with a mixture of shade for tents and seating and full sun for solar panels. Both within the vicinity of your space. Scenery was amazing and while being only a stones throw to the creek. The sound of the running water while enjoying the unobstructed view of the night sky was bliss. Would definitely go back and stay longer next time

1. Loud music (stopped before cut off time though).
2. Torches to and from toilet block into our camp

Creeks are lovely. Flowing. Deep enough.
Can get flat spots. Great to disconnect, only phone service with Telstra.

Beautiful well kept grounds. The creek has lots of nice spots to set up for the day. The groundskeeper was super friendly and even helped us with our flat tyre before leaving. Lovely family friendly space with lots of room for kids to run and play. Would definitely recommend and return to this spot.

Camp Spot 3 is a great flat spot to set up camp on tucked away in the bush. The views of the mountains in the distance make for a good back drop while you’re sitting back at camp, Daniel was a great host to deal with we will definitely be back sometime in the future.
