Gumridge

40 sites · RVs, Tents50 acres · Rathdowney, QLD
We have a 50 acre elevated bush block with space for approximately 80 people with tents, camper trailers or caravans. We have a range of different sites with two main camping areas and many smaller semi isolated spots. Caravans are best set up on the lower campground where the main view is, and we send noisier groups in tents or swags to our upper campground. If you want to be away from the main groups you can choose one of the quieter spots. There is a council maintained 2 km gravel road which provides access & most vehicles can make it here reliably in any weather. Please note that you are unlikely to make it up our road due to the lack of grip on the gravel if you have a front wheel drive vehicle with any significant sized trailer. Our campgrounds can also be very slippery if wet but dry out within a few hours. WE ASK OUR CAMPERS TO BRING A TOILET IF THEY'RE STAYING MORE THAN ONE NIGHT. We now sell bagged firewood for $20/ 20kg and fill LPG bottles, cash only. We're happy for campers to gather firewood from the bush around the campgrounds, bring your preferred method of cutting it. We are dog friendly but ask that campers keep their pets on a lead to stop them wandering onto adjacent properties or chasing our wildlife. The camping area has no amenities, however it shares a spectacular view south across the QLD/NSW border from 300 meters above sea level, with Mt. Maroon 6 km away. Also visible are Mt. Barney and Mt. Lindsay. The nearest toilets and showers are at Maroon Dam or Rathdowney, 15mins away. The local area has a tourism focus with plenty of opportunities to explore the Scenic Rim. Mt. Maroon and Mt. Barney offer walking trails to the top, Lake Moogera and Maroon Dam are not far away for jetskis, kayaking and swimming and we also have several eateries within 25 minutes. Scenic Rim website has more details. Dog friendly. We have an abundance of wildlife from Wedge Tailed Eagles to Bettongs and Koala. We also get some dangerous snakes and 2.5mt Lace Monitors (Goannas). I often have campers bring telescopes and big cameras to take advantage of the long range views and dark night sky. Kids are classed as age 10 and under. If aged 11 and over, please book at adult rate.

Camp Canungra

5 sites · RVs, Tents50 acres · Witheren, QLD
This beautiful paradise is located in the Scenic Rim on the Gold Coast Hinterland and surrounded by World Heritage-listed national parks. We have 6 sites. Site 1 is very close to the quiet country road, very private, 5 minutes from Canungra village. Site 2 is a little harder to access and very secluded. We would recommend 4WD or AWD (especially when wet) for easier access, but not essential. Site 3 is a flat area, close to the homestead but still private, and is accessible for 2WD vehicles. Site 4 is an all weather site, for any kind of vehicle or camping rig/ equipment. Grass and gravel surface with a nice bush land outlook. Site 5 is a newly developed site. We would recommend a 4WD particularly after rain. Site 6 is a small level area amongst the trees, more suitable for a roof top tents, camper trailers, tents/ swags. Site allocation will be dependent on type of rig and availability. Please note- Due to damage from the recent tornado, site 3 and 4 are not currently available. There are no shower facilities, however camp toilets can be hired for $15 a night. There is a solar lit gazebo, picnic table and fire pit and drum on most sites. Most sites are equipped with water tank, sink and toilet tent. All areas are open and grassy, and great for games during the day. In the evenings you can sit back and enjoy the warmth of the campfire. People friendly pets are welcome, but must be tethered at all times because of our abundant wildlife. If you have any questions or would like more information about Camp Canungra before booking, please message Paul via the app.
