I'm sorry to all, we have to reiterate this, but we have to due to some filthy campers. NO TOILET, NO ENTRY. We are disgusted to have to pick up used toilet paper. Sorry for the bluntness. A shovel does not cover as a toilet! Our place is a beautiful place and we will not allow this kind of degradation.
The Beach is classified as a Green zone under Qld law which means fishing is excluded along the beach. You can fish at the creek mouth to the north. There is also creek access through the property but no camping there. A small boat can be launched and retrieved.
Self sufficient camping only. No toilets, showers, dump points or power provided at this time.
Horse yards are available if you wish to bring your horse for rides along the beach, obviously all at your own risk.
Well behaved, quiet dogs are allowed, and must be kept within the campsite unless your walking them. Be respectful of others.
Things to do here include, beach access (walks, drives), horse riding, bird watching, Fishing, Crabbing, A small wet land walk. Or just sit back and watch the beach change with the tide.
What to bring and not bring, Insect repellent or be prepared to cover up when sandflies and midges are out. Torches, Sunscreen, rubbish bags. No hunting allowed, No ATV's, side by sides, drones, guns or chainsaws. Generator usage only in the afternoon and early evening.

If you want to get away from the rat race for a while this is your ideal location. We take one booking at any one time. You have the site all to yourselves. Your site is three acres of privacy and seclusion, rainforest and a beautiful freshwater creek. Close to walks to Araluen Cascades and the Wheel of fire falls at Finch Hatton Gorge.
There are no facilities here, so you need to be fully self-contained. No wifi. No mobile coverage (great to get the kids off the screens). There is plenty of water, firewood and wildlife though. Sometimes you won't be able to access the site as creek floods in heavy rain - can be cut off.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.
Please note check in is between 2 pm and 5 pm unless arranged otherwise.
Access is best suited to 4WD or High Clearance vehicles. Not suitable for small cars.

The Beach is classified as a Green zone under Qld law which means fishing is excluded along the beach. You can fish at the creek mouth to the north. There is also creek access through the property but no camping there. A small boat can be launched and retrieved.
Self sufficient camping only. No toilets, showers, dump points or power provided at this time.
Horse yards are available if you wish to bring your horse for rides along the beach, obviously all at your own risk.
Well behaved, quiet dogs are allowed, and must be kept within the campsite unless your walking them. Be respectful of others.
Things to do here include, beach access (walks, drives), horse riding, bird watching, Fishing, Crabbing, A small wet land walk. Or just sit back and watch the beach change with the tide.
What to bring and not bring, Insect repellent or be prepared to cover up when sandflies and midges are out. Torches, Sunscreen, rubbish bags. No hunting allowed, No ATV's, side by sides, drones, guns or chainsaws. Generator usage only in the afternoon and early evening.

If you want to get away from the rat race for a while this is your ideal location. We take one booking at any one time. You have the site all to yourselves. Your site is three acres of privacy and seclusion, rainforest and a beautiful freshwater creek. Close to walks to Araluen Cascades and the Wheel of fire falls at Finch Hatton Gorge.
There are no facilities here, so you need to be fully self-contained. No wifi. No mobile coverage (great to get the kids off the screens). There is plenty of water, firewood and wildlife though. Sometimes you won't be able to access the site as creek floods in heavy rain - can be cut off.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.
Please note check in is between 2 pm and 5 pm unless arranged otherwise.

We loved staying Platypus Bush Camp site 4 with our two dogs. The layout was ideal to give people the feeling of seclusion as the creek running drowned out noises and there was plenty of areas to walk around and spend time in the creek alone, or you could choose to cook with other campers in the communal kitchen. It was a perfect spot.

Geez we love it here!! This is our third trip and there is nothing not to love. We spent our days floating down the creek and sitting around the fire. It was a busy weekend being Australia Day and yet still felt secluded and private. As usual Gary was great and checked to see if we had fire wood and were all ok. Absolutely stunning, large camping areas, cows walking past the window with a beautiful creek to cool down in. Fire places at all sites. The owners are very generous and friendly! 100% recommend!

It was absolutely fantastic, a suprisingly very Built up camp, with a wonderful camp kitchen/area, clean toilets, and a hot shower with a spectacular view!, not to mention the huts which looked fantastic, as well as the flowing creek for a lovely refreshing swim
Shane is absolutely lovely and super accommodating and helpful
If you are ever in the area (or not. It’s worth the drive) staying here is a must

Awesome! Very accomodating host and phenominal spot along the beach. We had the place to ourselves (thanks to TC Koji), and we spent our days exploring the beach with our dogs. Paul came to check on us throughout the stay (probably thought we were a little looney) and brought his own dogs around for a play as well. All in all a lovely stay

Feels a million miles away from the cares of the world, but conveniently close to Sarina and Mackay if needed. Was good to have a single site camp to ourselves. Is in a rural lifestyle area, so heard mowers and dogs barking in the distance, but no real concern. Is a good spot if birding is your thing as there is a variety of habitats, increasing the variety of birds seen and heard.
