Weekend Trip to Middle Camp Berry Springs

We absolutely loved our stay at Middle Camp! It’s a fantastic place to camp with dogs, and we really appreciated that they allow more than just one or two—we were able to bring our three pups without any hassle. The owners clearly take pride in maintaining the campground, as everything was beautifully kept and spotlessly clean. Unlike most places at this time of year where the grass is usually dry and crunchy, the grounds at Middle Camp were lush, green, and soft—an absolute treat! The amenities were outstanding—clean, modern, and comfortable. The warm showers had a fresh, updated feel, and it was great to have access to a washing machine if needed. It made the whole camping experience feel a bit more luxurious. We also loved the location. It’s super close to Berry Springs Tavern, making it the perfect spot to set up camp while exploring Berry Springs and even taking a trip to the wildlife park. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, with enough space and privacy that we hardly noticed our neighbors. We felt comfortable and safe throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back! Middle Camp exceeded our expectations and made for a memorable and enjoyable getaway.

1 night at Wells Creek Retreat

We were Mel's first guests and she couldn't do enough for us. She was super welcoming and her property is a gorgeous oasis about 2kms from Coles, Woolies, Kmart, mechanics and fuel at Coolalinga. Not far from Darwin city and Berry Springs. Easy day trip to Litchfield from here too. Site 2 is huge and offers lots of shade or open grass areas depending on what you prefer. Bit of bushland seperating the two sites on offer, so feels private. Gorgeous little creek to splash in and some lovely green grass for my pup to roll around on, as only just coming out of the wet season. Designated fire places to relax by. Walking tracks nearby too if you fancy a stretch of the legs. We even saw two kangaroos at dusk! Dog and tent friendly which is great! We will be back for sure! :-)

What a great oasis in a suburban area of Darwin. Pete went out of his way to assist us. The enterance is hidden and looks tight for van, but all good as Pete guides you in. It's very private and safe with a beautiful range of trees and birds. Highly recommend stay at urban retreat.

We love rolling out the swag at Middle Camp! Our family loves camp 3 closest to the dam, it's a favourite for the little ones. The amenities are always clean and convenient. I am pretty sure I have camped at all 4 sites, as a family and solo.. and absolutely will go back during the dry season, as it's not too far out from the city. The camp is well looked after and it's close to berry springs pub and all the water spots in Litchfield!

What a fantastic spot for a getaway, short walk to the beach and local country club. Stephen’s property was incredibly spacious and well-equipped. We had two vans, four adults, and three dogs, yet there was still plenty of room. The fully fenced yard was perfect for letting the dogs run free. Highly recommend!

The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have currently 3 sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book both sites. Please note Pool site is open all year round and has permanent cover. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

In the neighbouring paddock is our two resident Water Buffalo, a very friendly mother and daughter pair. You're welcome to feed them carrots over the fence - they'll love you for it! Campers will have access to a shower and compost toilet (located in the self-contained cabin - which will not be occupied while we have campers here). The property is 40 minutes to Darwin city, just off the Stuart Hwy, and ideally located to be your base camp whilst you head out on day trips to the National Parks, popular tourist spot, Berry Springs Nature Park, Florence Falls, Buley Rockhole, Adelaide River, Noonamah tavern, and more. Conveniently located, we're a 30 minute drive from Darwin CBD , 15 minutes from two major shopping centres, 1 hour from Litchfield National Park , 1.5 hours from Kakadu National Park, 20 minutes from the public dump point, and only 5 minutes from the local IGA, chemist and post office, and the family friendly Howard Springs Nature Reserve and excellent pine forest mountain bike trails. We have only two sites, to give you great privacy and space. The sites are level and grassed, with dedicated water and power access. You are welcome to share our refreshing plunge pool. Wander the yard to enjoy the gardens or spot small lizards and frogs, pick fresh herbs, tropical flowers. We have fantastic recycling and compost facilities, in a small effort to reduce our collective impact on the environment. Kids will love having plenty of space to run, ride and explore. There are small lizards and frogs to be hunted, a kids cubby and kitchen, sandpit, swings and a climbing frame (all to be used at your own risk). You will need to be fully self-contained with your own camping toilet/shower. No pets please.

We’re a young couple who’ve called the NT home since 2009, living a laid-back lifestyle and always happy to swap stories over a cold drink as the sun goes down. During your stay, you’ll have full access to power, water, our refreshing pool with spa jets, and laundry facilities.
