The retreat is located 20 minutes west of Nowra and is set on 17 secluded acres on the banks of the beautiful Shoalhaven River, surrounded by natural bushland, mountains, cliffs and dairy pastures. This makes Grady’s Riverside Retreat an ideal place to bring your friends and family to relax, unwind and enjoy the scenery. Grady’s has over 500 metres of direct access to the Shoalhaven River. The river is deep and also is tidal which means we have a large variety of fresh and saltwater fish that inhabit these waters. Majority of our well maintained grassy sites are located along the river or have uninterrupted river views. With a boat ramp and beach areas for you to utilise at your leisure.
Grady's is a pet friendly Retreat and we also allow campfires. We strongly believe these few extra things are essential to create a true camping experience.
The park grounds are well maintained throughout the year. The amenities are fresh and cleaned daily. Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround.
It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views.
As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.
Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks.
We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with.
Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround.
It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views.
As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.
Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks.
We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with.
Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

We really enjoyed our stay. The surrounding bushland was peaceful and beautiful. Friendly farm animals. The accommodation is simple but has everything you need, and the hosts are good communicators. House warmed up very quickly with the fire. Very nice sauna however the pond not accessible by the wharf as broken but you could get in from the side if you wanted. You can expect a few creepy crawlies given the setting. Thanks again!

It's a beautiful place and worth the drive.
Be sure to pack food that you can cook or put in the fridge or heat.
There's 2 patches of road towards the end that are a bit rough but nothing my tiny MG couldn't handle.
It's a great place. Lots of other things to do as well like pool, billiard, table tennis. Shared bathroom area is very very close and very convenient. Plenty of water.
The help there is a pure gentleman and happy to help off times as well. It was a great trip overall.

Lyrebird was the perfect retreat for us to recover from a stressful year. A quiet and tranquil space where we could relax with our dogs and watch the birdlife on the deck, wander through the olive grove and say hello to the horses and goats, or potter down to the lily pond where the sauna was located.
The hosts were so welcoming and helpful; creating the perfect the first Hipcamp experience for us all, including some treats for us to feed the horses who were so friendly.
The cottage contains all you need, and is full of light and birdsong. We appreciated having a hot shower and absolutely loved the deck. Did not want to leave and wished we had booked a third night. I have not slept so soundly in a long time.
We used a portable dog fence to secure our dogs on the deck while we transported items to and from the cottage, and had long leads for walks so they could have some space without bothering livestock or wildlife. There were a lot of kangaroos when we went for a walk up the road, plus birdlife and cattle.

I stayed in the beautiful Bell Tent at Mellows Ridge and absolutely loved it. The setting is incredible, surrounded by tall trees, birdlife, rocky outcrops, and stunning views. It’s so peaceful, with plenty of wildlife around. I even spotted a diamond python and echidnas!
The Bell Tent itself was spacious and luxurious, with lights, music, power, and a private toilet - everything you could need. Enjoying delicious wood-fired pizza and wine in the hot tub overlooking the valley was just perfect. My dog had the best time too and even made a new friend, Lana (Ian’s lovely dog), who took us on a tour to the waterfall!
Sitting by the campfire listening to the birds was so relaxing. It feels wonderfully secluded yet it’s just a short drive from town. The customer service was exceptional - having a strong coffee delivered at 7am was amazing. I really didn’t have to bring a thing.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for peace, comfort, and a touch of luxury in nature.

Stayed for 2 nights on the weekend with the family, it was lovely and my girls had the best time.
The tent was spacious & clean.
The host made the space very aesthetic and cozy. And out stay comfortable
There was Double bed and 2 single bed all with beddings, pillows and duvet covers perfect for family of 4 or any group of 4.
Everything needed for camping is there, Bbq, fridge, kettle toaster, so really we only need to bring some change clothes. The host also prepared some torches for my girls, lantern and spare batteries incase we need them, very thoughtful :)
And there’s a beautiful river nearby which was lovely for water play, quick dip, or just simply enjoy the nature . There’s also some beautiful pools with waterfalls cascades that require abit of hike 15-20 mins, we chose not to go because we have a 4yo with us.
The highlights for my daughters was the farm animals, Melissa lets them join in every feeding while we were there - lots of animals feeding & patting time, it was truly an experience for them.
This place is truly gems! Only abt 1 hour from Sydney
But feels secluded & private, shops are only 5 mins drive from the property. Its the easiest most convenient camping experience you’d have! Highly recommended! We will be back for sure

We had such a lovely stay at Hope’s view cabin! Carol was very warm and sweet. She even let us picked grapefruits from her garden and gave us some eggs from her hens, which was such a thoughtful touch. Her hospitality is truly exceptional. The cabin itself is cozy, spotless, and feels like home. There’s so much to explore and do on her beautiful property, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Unbelievable spot! The furry friends are a great added bonus. Mel was a fantastic host and had thought of everything we needed. We were spoilt with pure sunshine and magic stars both days. Loved exploring mermaid pools and having a dip at see thru pools highly recommend.

Our family trip to riverside glamping was fantastic. In the tent everything was neat and pretty with a welcome treat, and Melissa was super helpful and made sure we had no issues. Kids loved feeding the animals, and we even explored few of the recommended places that was mentioned in the file at the tent. The view from the tent is amazing, and wake up mornings with many different bird songs.

The tent is set up in a beautiful location with a view on the campfire and the gorge. But most of all our family loved the pygmy goats. It was so great to be able to pet, hug and play with them all day long. The host display super hospitality, when the next guests canceled we were allowed to do a very late check out, basically getting another day at the farm. Thanks so much!

Glamping at rosewood was a great experience, perfect spot for a weekend getaway that is secluded but close enough to shops and restaurants. Mel was a great host that made sure our stay was most comfortable. The hike to the mermaid pools is a must do!

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at Rosewood Farm! It is a stunning spot and the hosts were very kind and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved sitting around the fire pit under the stars at night and exploring their length of the pristine Bargo river below by day. We're hoping to come back in summer!

We loved camping at Rosewood, having the fire pit roaring and the river in the background makes for a perfect experience. We had fun making friends with the goats and the location was handy for a lazy weekend away. Our hosts made sure we had everything we needed, and apart from being cooold (that’s midwinter camping for you) nothing went awry.

2 nights at Rosewood Farm's Riverside Glamping
This camping spot is set in the stunning bushland along the Bargo River. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature and the river, made for a perfect escape. The goats and alpacas added an extra layer of charm to the experience and the short walk down to the river made it feel even more special.
The tent is cozy and comfortable, and the toilet and shower are just a short walk away, Having access to hot water and electricity only a stones throw away was an extra bonus!
it was the ideal blend of nature and convenience.
Our wonderful hosts were attentive and welcoming, and the location was conveniently close to town for any supplies we needed.
This glamping experience is a perfect getaway for anyone looking to relax and connect with nature with the camping experience, and without having to pitch a tent or sleep on the ground!
We will definitely be back again!
