Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Please consult hosts regarding fires during dry summer months even when no fire ban in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet. A scenic drive following the Murrumbidgee and Tumut Rivers can be taken as an alternative route to Tumut or Gundagai. The site can be used as a base camp for fishing, wineries, bushwalking, and ski fields. There is free firewood for campfires. Friendly, well-controlled pets are welcome, as long as they don’t disturb other campers. Please be mindful that cattle and sheep may be grazing nearby. Water sports, hiking, horse riding and skiing are all available in the nearby area. Also only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga. Pets are welcome but must be contained to protect nature and wildlife. Great host, clear directions and local knowledge in abundance. Camping is easy with clean facilities provided, on the water and undercover kitchen area. Dogs thoroughly enjoyed their time, plenty of space to run and sniff. Access road clear and easy to find.

Easy access into site, private and peaceful. Amenities were clean and well thought out, nice personal touches in bathroom. Host stopped into to run as through how the gas shower worked, he was friendly and polite and gave us handy directions for our travels. Would recommend to anyone passing through or for a trip away.

Wonderful open area with plenty of options along the riverbend. Fishing difficult due to snags but we definitely gave it a good crack. Very steep decent down to river camping area. We had heavy caravan and luckily dry weather allowed us to get out ok. Also an awesome winery 🍷 2 mins away.

3rd time visiting Karoola Station. This time we stayed at River Bend as the grass was too high at The Lagoon. There were 3 of us with caravans plenty of room and nice and peaceful spot. We had 4 dogs with us and they were pretty happy too!
