Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans. If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Find us on a large property on the banks of the Timbarra River, located 20 km / 30 min south of Drake Village (an old gold mining community). We share the property with lots of wildlife, and with our resident cows. There is currently only one camping site accessible by car (the River Block), but if you're up for a trek we can point you to the back hills where you'll find a whole other world. Your hosts live further back on the property so you can find us if you need help. Please note there is no mobile reception, so it is a great way to get away from it all. There are no bins here... please remove all your rubbish on departure. Campfires are welcome (when no fire ban). You can bring your own firewood, or gather what fallen timber you can find. Find us on a large property on the banks of the Timbarra River, located 20 km / 30 min south of Drake Village (an old gold mining community). We share the property with lots of wildlife, and with our resident cows. There is currently only one camping site accessible by car (the River Block), but if you're up for a trek we can point you to the back hills where you'll find a whole other world. Your hosts live further back on the property so you can find us if you need help. Please note there is no mobile reception, so it is a great way to get away from it all. There are no bins here... please remove all your rubbish on departure. Campfires are welcome (when no fire ban). You can bring your own firewood, or gather what fallen timber you can find. The estate features over 200 acres of native forest, creeks, several swimming holes, and an extensive network of walking trails. The two adjoining houses are constructed from timber logs and beams, all harvested from the property itself. The accommodation includes kitchen facilities, a hot shower, and a toilet. You have to try the Brushtales Bush Cabin hosted by Jess to believe it. My son and I planned on camping, but the long range weather forecast predicted ridiculously low temperatures and a chance of showers, so we upgraded to Jess' cabin. Talk about having everything we needed. Hot showers, wood fire, warm beds and everything that the fully kitted out cabin had to offer. We really didn't need to bring anything! I was very disappointed when my son discovered NBN internet access. My son, not so much! 😀 Like others before me, I am already planning a return trip in the near future. Thanks. John.

Very overpriced for a cabin with no toilet or shower and we were slugged an extra cleaning fee of $30 which was not disclosed when I paid and booked. We booked a pet friendly cabin. Our family stayed in the cabin as well as a tent and van on the Koala camp site. We had a great time eventhough the weather was showery. The property is beautiful. We explored the rock pools when it wasn’t raining and hung out in the cabin when it did rain. The cabin was fantastic and had everything that you need from a full kitchen and bbq, washing machine, a cosy fireplace and even a tv to watch a footy game one night. There’s all the toiletries you need, condiments, board games, everything is there for you to cook and serve food for a big family. Prue and Bruce are great hosts who were available whenever we needed them, sent excellent instructions on how to get to their place (maps and service aren’t great close to the property), made sure we had everything we needed for our stay from firewood, a back up generator for the rain days and even a tractor assist with the van when leaving one of the campsites that got a bit wet. We hope to return again for another family break sometime soon.
