Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance.
Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

Welcome! Lovely to see you here. Our property is located in Arcadia, just 45 minutes from Sydney CBD. The campsite is located on the high side of the property that looks over into the valley & has stunning views of the Berowra National Park.
There is a multitude of walking, hiking and mountain bike trails. There are also many nearby horse riding trails. The property backs on to Calabash Creek which is like a rain Forrest once you get down to the valley floor.
Berowra waters is near by, whereby many fishing, canoeing, boating activities are available, coupled with some great cafes/restaurants.
Campfires are allowed as long as there are no restrictions in place and they are supervised. Pets are welcome and can be off leash, however are the responsibility of their human parents.
The property has ample room to accommodate larger groups that might want to hold milestone celebrations such as Birthday parties, whereby all sites will be closed to accommodate such events. Recently Calabash Haven hosted a party of 50 people for 50th Bday celebration. Feel free to inquire to see if we can accommodate your needs.

Originally settled in 1889 "Bobs Grant" this lovely property and the surrounding land was originally used for farming but is now mostly turf farms.
Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river.
Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are loving welcoming back our guests.
Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not.
Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney.
We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice!
We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water.
You can bring your dogs, but they must be on a leash at all times. We have three little puppies that love to roam their property. We lock them up sometimes but most of the time they are just running around having fun. Minimum of 2 dogs per booking and they must be noted on the booking.

ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Drive down the driveway to the Hipcamp sign on the right, enter and set up next to one of the available fire pits. We'll visit you in the afternoon.
Misty Mountain Farm is a family run working beef cattle property and horse training facility situated at the base of picturesque Coolangatta Mountain.
Camp grounds are well maintained grass paddocks surrounded by beautiful picturesque scenery.
Campfires are permitted when local restrictions are not in place
Fire pits are provided - firewood to be kept within firepit
Kindling for cooking supplied
Firewood for evening fires available on arrival - 20kg @ $20

A tiny home is on private bushland acreage, right on the edge of the Royal National Park.
If you love to wake to native bird calls, while snuggled under a fluffy doona, walk to iconic ocean lookouts or hike the many trails, followed by a twilight barbeque on the deck or marshmallows over the firepit - this is the tiny stay for you!
Nestled between the iconic Bald Hill and Otford valley , and alongside the famous Grand Pacific drive, there is much to do, or luxuriate and do nothing!
Our tiny house is compact but abundant in anything you may need.
- All on one level, accessed by just 3 steps and approximately 20m wood chip covered slope between your car and the cabin. If mobility is an issue for you, please talk to us first
-Queen sized bed with soft mattress topper. firm pillows, soft pillows. Doona, blankets and throw rugs and optional soft waterproof pads. Large skylight over the bed to view the stars at night
-Two adults maximum can stay in the Tiny House but the sofa bed folds out to be a comfy double bed too for small children. So if you'd like to bring your young children too, please message to discuss suitability
-Bedside tables feature lamps, power access and double USB power points.
- A Walk in shower big enough for two .
-Gas BBQ features not only a grill but also a burner for outdoor cooking with wok and fry pans.
- Large microwave and electric rice cooker
- A portable electric hot plate.
-Coffee, tea and milk provided. Espresso machine for an awesome cappuccino and instant if you prefer
-The large merbau deck has full sun all morning - to soak up the rays on the sunbeds or relax in the deep shade of the large market umbrella

There is no sink in the studio. There is a sink in the bathroom only.
Location is in the backyard of the owner’s cottage residence which was established in 1938, “The Printery” once operated as a printing factory and housed printing presses and machinery up to the 60's. The local newspaper “The Manly Daily” was printed on the property from 1940-41. Separate private entrance.
The studio rental has a 4.6 star review on Airbnb. Quirky and unusual, Little Cat Oasis Garden Glamping studio offers something a little different to the usual local accomodation offerings. This is a fantastic space, a little piece of paradise. We had a great time, facilities could not have been better and the owners are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend this space more, they've got everything you need. The undercover area was perfect. Great for dogs and groups wanting a private space. Camping with added luxuries.

First time at Jila Campground and definitely not the last. We stayed two nights (Feb 2026) — the grounds were clean, facilities were ample, and the natural bush setting is stunning. The highlight is easy access to the Grose River — absolutely beautiful.
Sites aren’t all perfectly flat, but that’s part of the charm — it’s nature as intended. Choose a spot that suits your setup and plan ahead.
Plenty of firepits. Firewood was $20 per bag from a ute onsite, or you can forage (bring a handsaw/hatchet; chainsaws aren’t allowed).
Flushing toilets — simple but functional. A blessing nonetheless!
Wash-up sink near the main campground (down from the glamping area). We brought our own potable water supply (20L jerry can - lasted 3 days for 3 families); each family brought their supply of drinking water separately.
Kayaks available for a gold coin donation supporting Beyond Blue — get in early or you'll miss out!
Grose River is shallow for the most part, making it extremely kid friendly. There are arrows pointing to entry. Soft sands - some areas have stones as expected.
Central bins provided.
Access road is steep, clay-based and unsealed. 4WD or AWD recommended; plan load carefully if driving FWD or RWD. Check the forecast, plan and have contingencies.
Mobile and Internet - intermittent availability for Telstra and no service for Optus and Vodafone from our experience this weekend.

What a stunning place to pull up, set up a tent or campervan, sit under the sky, the stars, on the soft grass. Admiring and taking in the views of the surrounding mountains, trees, horses, cows and bird life.

Plenty of space for kids to ride bikes and good access to water for swimming or fishing.

A well maintained site with fantastic facilities. The huge undercover area was fabulous during our stay as we had rain on and off and we were all able to gather together. The undercover fire place and pizza oven were also enjoyed. We brought along our inflatable SUP and Kayak and were able to use these in the river, however be mindful there is motorised watercraft using the river also. We had a really enjoyable stay with our family. (3 couples)

Absolutely loved this site. The shack, toilet and shower made this glamping for us. Having easy access to the Hawksbury water on a scorching day was pure bliss. Enjoying the long weekend with our dogs as well was the cherry on the top. Trevor and Megan were so easy to deal with.

5 stars for the stunning setting (beautiful river with clear water, sandy bottom, big gum trees and various birdlife) and for the proximity to Sydney. 2.5 stars for the camping facilities: the electric fence (for cows in the next door property) wasn't turned off until a few hours after our arrival for the long weekend, and there were a lot of cow dung patties and attendant flies. Nice to have flushing toilets with toilet paper but these had no lights to see in them, a few broken locks and no vacant/occupied signs on the outside. There were very few kayaks and paddles but this wasn't advertised so we hadn't brought alternatives. No firewood though that was promised. And as other reviewers experienced, falling tree branches including green leafed ones (ie not just dead branches you could check for before setting up tents). We had a lovely time on a hot summer weekend, with kids and adults hanging out in the river most of the day. But for the price, it would be good if these things could be sorted. Overall, still recommend as a great nearby camping option, but come prepared.

Where to go
Symbio Wildlife Park
Campers with families will want to plan a fun day at Symbio Wildlife Park. This private zoo and wildlife park offers opportunities to feed kangaroos, cool off in a splash park, or run off energy at an on-site playground. Reserve a pitch nearby at holiday parks that welcome pets, allow campfires, and provide toilets and water hookups. Or find cabin rentals near the beach for a cosier stay. Families who want to see the animals at their liveliest can visit during spring or autumn. However, the park is open year-round.
Dharawal National Park
Take an easy day trip from Stanwell Tops to Dharawal National Park. View the mystical waters of Madden Falls in winter after a short bush walk that is perfect for families, or pedal down the 10B cycling trail in spring to catch a glimpse of a yellow-tailed black cockatoo in the outback. Private campsites are abundant near the park with tent sites or glamping options at holiday parks that give campers access to hot showers at vacation rentals, power hookups for caravan sites, and beachfront cabins for families and groups.
Royal National Park
Campers will find almost too many outdoor activities at Royal National Park. Home to kookaburras, beaches, waterfalls, and coastal bushwalking trails, the park offers nearly 60 square miles of natural Australian outback, including a challenging trek to Figure Eight Pools. Cycle down trails, watch whales from clifftops, or spend a lazy day fishing from the shore. Then find unpowered private pitches inside the park as well as powered sites for the caravan or trailer. The campgrounds also provide picnic tables, drinking water, showers, toilets, and BBQ facilities.
When to go
Summer months bring crowds to Stanwell Tops for its sunny skies and hot temperatures. Hipcampers looking for a holiday at the beach during the school break will enjoy visiting in December or January.
