The Bega river is clean fresh water and is well worth a visit on a hot day to cool off. Your hosts can show you a secluded area of the river that you can access easily. The whole area has an array of beautiful spots to explore both on the property and along the riverside. Jackie is always willing to give fresh produce from her veggie garden during your stay just to make you feel welcome. There are horses you can pat and a few sheep that are very friendly and love to be given bread. The historic Bega Cheese Factory and Heritage Center is just a couple of minutes away. The main shopping center and mall in town is just a five-minute drive. On our property, we can offer you a relaxing quiet stay in a secure area. A haven for many species of birds and wildlife, sea and wedge tail eagles nesting close by a bird watchers and canoeists paradise, also many species of fish so if you want to wet a line a Victorian fishing licence is needed, the river has a 5 knot speed limit from the campsite to Gypsy Point, if your more into bushwalking or sightseeing there are several national parks within a 30 minute drive or boat trip, or just have a swim, chill, relax and enjoy the peace and serenity. one site has small tinny access to the river and the other is good for a 20 ft boat, can accommodate up to 10 at one site and 5 at the other, camping and fires are only allowed in designated areas, bring your own firewood or it can be supplied for $25 per wheelbarrow when booking in, at both sites you cannot have fires or camp in fenced off river frontage, you will have to provide your own camp toilet, shower, etc and take all waste away when you leave, I can arrange if needed by prior notice, bulk firewood, launching of boat, etc. No firewood collection, motorbike riding, shooting or 4x4ing on site, some pets on leash may be allowed by prior arrangement, if having trouble booking or any other inquiries please send message cheers John.

One of Australia's two aquatic mammals, the platypus being the other. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. IF NO CHEMICAL TOILET, DIG A HOLE AT LEAST 30CM DEEP . There is access to a drinking water supply (mountain river water), or you can bring your own water. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area. Pets allowed but be aware it is a running cattle farm and it's expected that you know your pets whereabouts at all times. At 1200 metres elevation it is often colder than the surrounding areas and sometimes very foggy. A second site is available near our house at the "hayshed". Let's say you're travelling between Bega and Cooma or Bombala, it's getting late and you need a spot to spend the night which is safe and you can plug into power. Next morning buy some fresh eggs, have breakfast, check your vehicle over, top up a bit of water and back to the main highway in a few minutes.

We loved camping here. Perfect for exploring the area and chilling at the same time. It feels more like a rural campsite than a bush camp being a stone’s throw away from the main road. Super friendly and easy going hosts. Respectful owners mindful of our dog’s needs. Enjoyed chatting with both Julie and David. Dunny is exactly that - a dunny! But we didn’t mind. And our pooch loved the place. Stunning views and amazing campfire set up, both for warming up and cooking. So much wood provided, makes the nightly fee very much worth it. Be wary of ticks, we saw several and I got bitten but we were prepared and so wasn’t an issue. A great experience and wonderful hosts!

The site was well maintained and ready. Composting toilet is well lit and very clean. The gate and path to river let us feel extra secluded and really take advantage of the solitude. We loved being able to sit by the fire and watch the kids having fun paddling on the river 😀 This was a great spot that we hope to return to in future.

Beautiful, flat green field perfect for tents, or any kind of camping, clean toilet, good fire place with something you can cook on and a picnic table. She had some firewood already for me to use. Short walk down to pristine , private , river with afew chairs. I can confirm there are definitely platerpus in the river. She acceptes pets , I had my dog and bird with me. There alot of wallies, roos, rabbits ect. So it your dog likes to chase, keep them on a leash. There is little phone coverage, my navman took me to the place down the road but the place is well signed. Trying and fuel up well before you hit the gravel road. But overall a beautiful place to camp 5 stars.

It was so nice to stay at such a well appointed and maintained site. Our children absolutely adored the animals, and a huge thank you to Dave for so generously showing us around! So much fun! Super happy Michael and his family were super welcoming and accommodating. We were met with a carton of eggs and escorted to our campsite to which was clean and comfortable. Michael provided us with a map which allowed us to freely explore on our motorcycles. Would definitely recommend staying here and will absolutely be back.

Had an absolutely wonderful, relaxing time. We were a group of 3 families with dogs, had 2 x pop top campers and a caravan and we had no problems with access or setup at all. We stayed 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The view at the site was lovely and the kids even got to pat some cows that stopped in for a sticky beak at camp on the last morning. Julie the host was very kind and helpful from the moment we booked until we left the site and was very responsive to any questions we had. Only half an hour from Tathra beach and the whale watching which was nice and less than 20 mins from Bega.

Great camp spot, easy access to the river (two chairs provided next to the river for nice riverside bevvo), very clean toilet and heaps of firewood provided. A road runs past the paddock but we've only seen 2 or 3 cars passing all day, so it's very quiet. Only 45m to Eden so good for a day trip. Would recommend to all.

We had a lovely time staying at this campsite, the location is stunning, especially with the river so close by with beautifully clear water. It's a really beautiful setting for a peaceful getaway, and the composting toilet here is honestly the best we've ever encountered, better than my own, super clean and thoughtfully maintained. One thing to note, which wasn’t clear from the listing or reviews, is that the site is in a fully fenced paddock right beside a dirt road. While it’s not heavily trafficked, there were occasional cars and some people who slowed down or looked in, which made it feel slightly less private than expected. The host's house is also within sight of the campsite, which might matter to those looking for full seclusion. It would have been nice if the hosts had made this a bit clearer in the listing. That said, it’s still a very special spot – just something to keep in mind depending on what kind of experience you’re after. We'd absolutely recommend it for anyone wanting natural beauty with basic comforts, just know it’s not completely tucked away from view. It would be suitable for a large group, or family wanting open space where they can keep an eye view on the little ones.

This is a perfect location for a family looking to relax with their dog(s) or for groups with pets. We had hesitation and anxiety about one of our dogs, but the large space and laid back feel allowed us to have a stress free trip, particularly as we had the site to ourselves. The campsite has an impressive view in the morning as the sun stretches over the valley and at sunset. We had a mob of kangaroos bounce through the paddocks one morning, which was a tranquil sight for us all. Julie, Kirk (great name) and David were great hosts, allowing us free access to walk through the massive propriety and offering farm experiences for our boys. Thanks for being such accommodating and welcoming hosts. We home to be back with a larger group.

Lovely spot, not far off the bitumen of a private no through road so pretty quiet. Good for non offroader. It's along a ridgeline with open space for camping but bushwalks down either slope. Wombats everywhere!

This site was excellent… communication and directions were friendly and helpful. On arrival the fire pit was prepared and ready for us. The site was peaceful, serene and picturesque. Hosts Julie and David were lovely … and welcoming…. giving advice and tips on the beautiful surrounding area. The location of the property was excellent for us to explore both further south, and surrounding villages. We would not hesitate to recommend for people wanting off grid experience and enjoying the solitude. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you Julie and David for sharing your amazing property .

I loved it here. The views from the campsite are beautiful. There is the “Dunny”, a fire pit and plenty of firewood. Dave and Julie were very welcoming and the most helpful, friendly people. They went out of their way to help and it was so much appreciated. My dog was in his element being allowed to explore off lead, it was sensory overload! If you are looking for a peaceful piece of paradise to stay, with Merimbula and Pambula close by, I recommend this place. Thanks Julie…and Dave…you are a legend!

We loved our stay at Wolumla bushcamp. They only take 1 booking for their site so you have all the views to yourself. Dave dropped in for a chat and a beer and gave some recommendations about things to see and where to eat. The view across the valley is stunning and the kangaroos are good company.
