There is also a fresh water (rainwater) tap on the side of the amenities block for the filling of containers etc.

We run horses, sheep and other farm animals. We have several vacant paddocks at any one time. Camp any ware on the property you wish (depending on weather and stock) or in a parkland type setting within view of the house. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. You must have your own amenities. Tank (drinking) water is available at the house. Relax around the campfire in the evenings as you enjoy the stars in the night sky. The country is reasonably flat and accessible for any type of vehicle. There are areas of mown parkland settings or rough paddocks. You can choose where to set up, the paddock areas can be slashed if required.Pets are welcome.

There is water available to top up tanks however no discharge of grey or blackwater permitted.

Burrill Creek Camping

Burrill Banks is a 35-acre hobby farm just off the Newell Highway, approximately 33km from Parkes, NSW, home to the famous ELVIS Festival (8th- 12th January). Just a few Km up the road is the famous Parkes telescope, or "The Dish". Large cropping and sheep farms surround us. We have 35 sheep and 2 dogs. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from the Harvey’s Ranges to the east of Goobang National Park. The creek is often dry through the summer. The camping area is about 7 acres with open and treed areas. It is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accommodate up to 8 caravans. Alectown is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. You can visit an open-cut gold mine in Peak Hill 15 km north of Burrill Banks. For walking and bike tracks plus tonnes of sites and activities, visit the Parkes Visitors Centre. 30 acres fenced off for Hip camp. other 40 acres fenced off for cattle. 6 private sites on or near sandy creek bed. Lots of bird life and views of the odd cow. Closest hip camp to Dubbo township and Zoo. 5 to 7 kms to Zoo and Town centre. 5 minute drive to the Zoo. 5kms to 27 hole golf course. 3 kms to Delroy Park Shopping centre. Some days you can hear the lions and monkeys from the zoo Lots of Kangaroos on site. Lots of Birdlife ( Eastern Rosellas , Grass Parrots, Willy Wag Tails, Kestrals , Currawongs, Quail , Kookaburras, Magpies , Blue wrens etc). Land was previously a sheep station but nature is slowly reclaiming it. We have been here six years and have seen hundreds of native trees come back through not overgrazing and fencing off bushland. Dry sandy creek bed (good for kids to explore) , except during floods. Lots of shady gumtrees. 2km grassy walk around fence line for those looking to exercise during their stay.

YARRALLA on the Marthaguy

The Marthaguy Campground on 'Yarralla' is located on the Newell Highway 5 km south of Gilgandra - The town of the Windmills. 55 km North of Dubbo with easy access to the Dubbo Western Plains Zoo and 80 km South of the Warrumbungle National Park. The campground is 800m off the Newell Highway tucked in on the Marthaguy Creek out of highway sight. Yarralla is a working mixed farming enterprise running sheep, cattle and cropping. The campground also overlooks a large dam with a Jetty. The campground offers a safe and secure location to camp away from town with a shelter shed with water over a sink, a picnic table and a hot shower. Wood is available for a camp fire during winter months.
