30 acres fenced off for Hip camp. other 40 acres fenced off for cattle. 6 private sites on or near sandy creek bed. Lots of bird life and views of the odd cow. Closest hip camp to Dubbo township and Zoo. 5 to 7 kms to Zoo and Town centre. 5 minute drive to the Zoo. 5kms to 27 hole golf course. 3 kms to Delroy Park Shopping centre. Some days you can hear the lions and monkeys from the zoo Lots of Kangaroos on site. Lots of Birdlife ( Eastern Rosellas , Grass Parrots, Willy Wag Tails, Kestrals , Currawongs, Quail , Kookaburras, Magpies , Blue wrens etc). Land was previously a sheep station but nature is slowly reclaiming it. We have been here six years and have seen hundreds of native trees come back through not overgrazing and fencing off bushland. Dry sandy creek bed (good for kids to explore) , except during floods. Lots of shady gumtrees. 2km grassy walk around fence line for those looking to exercise during their stay.

The sites are self-service with no amenities currently available, so best suited to those happy to be self-sufficient and with a 'leave no trace' approach. All sites offer bushwalking options (maps can be provided via email), an abundance of native flora and fauna including wild birds, the occasional echidna and wombats. You'll also find sheep and cattle meandering around the paddocks, along with our horses and free ranging peacock. We also have a super friendly kelpie and dachshund pup making the farm feel complete. Dogs are welcome & we have stables or individual paddocks available if you'd like to bring your equine friends (no riding on the property due to insurance). The campground is 800m off the Newell Highway tucked in on the Marthaguy Creek out of highway sight. Yarralla is a working mixed farming enterprise running sheep, cattle and cropping. Burrill Banks is a 35-acre hobby farm just off the Newell Highway, approximately 33km from Parkes, NSW, home to the famous ELVIS Festival (8th- 12th January). Just a few Km up the road is the famous Parkes telescope, or "The Dish". Large cropping and sheep farms surround us. We have 35 sheep and 2 dogs. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from the Harvey’s Ranges to the east of Goobang National Park. The creek is often dry through the summer. The camping area is about 7 acres with open and treed areas. It is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accommodate up to 8 caravans. Alectown is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. You can visit an open-cut gold mine in Peak Hill 15 km north of Burrill Banks. For walking and bike tracks plus tonnes of sites and activities, visit the Parkes Visitors Centre. Beautiful cleared safe and peaceful site. We stayed on site 1. Slashed walking track to creek. Our dog loved this walk and it was very cool under the trees by the creek for an Arvo drink after a long travel day. Huge site with a fire pit. Easy access for caravans. Flat site. No over hanging trees. Loved it 🫶

Weekend Trip to YARRALLA on the Marthaguy

Sally and Pete have an amazing setup here, picnic table, shelter with lighting and bore water, outdoor baths, shower... and soon a toilet. Located immediately off the highway it's location is extremely convenient. Highly recommend stopping at Johnson's gourmet butcher for an amazing piece of meat and bbq in your own little piece of paradise.

Spent a couple of peaceful nights camped by the river. Matt's map & directions made it super easy to find. We had to place to ourselves and didn't see a sole of the entire stay. Would definitely look to revisit if passing through.

Sally was very helpful and quick to respond to our last minute request, and on arrival Peter came over and went out of his way to make sure that we had everything we needed on a cool and rainy evening. The shelter and other facilities were very useful, with the campsite tucked away from the Newell Highway. There is a bit of road noise still, but it proved to be an excellent option for our overnight stop.

We were met by Alison & shown to a beautiful location on their property for setting up camp. We were the only ones there & felt safe & very comfortable on their lovely property. We’ll defiantly return & had a great 2 night stay, with a day trip to Dubbo zoo.
