Our Glamping Van's are Set direct on lakefront and our BYO camp spots are in the flower plantation. Oakdale is a lovely rural area; you will pass cow paddocks, mountains and beautiful country vistas on your drive to the property. The area is a mix of houses, hobby farmers, homes on acreage, equestrian centres, produce growers and National Park. There is a glorious look-out in the National Park overlooking the Warragamba dam. Some days it is swept with clouds; enveloping you into the majestic heavens. It’s an easy ten min drive away. There is local towns 15mins drive for eating out and getting coffee.

We welcome you to stay at the unique Hideaway Oberon - an off grid experience in a log cabin just 10 minutes from Oberon town and 2.5 hours from Sydney. A tranquil location in a naturally wooded area, with a running creek just a few minutes walk. The log cabin features a double bed, table setting, a cosy pot belly wood fire inside, camp chairs, board games, an outdoor fire pit (with plenty of firewood). In an adjoining building you will find a toilet and a shower with a view to remember! There is a rustic outdoor kitchen with sink, and camp cooking stove. Things to keep you entertained: • Mushroom hunting in the adjoining State pine forest • Blackberry picking • Try your luck fishing for trout in the creek or at the Oberon Dam • Drive to Mayfield Gardens for a bite to eat and to explore their world famous gardens • Stay during the Oberon Rally or Bathurst 1000 • Book a tour at Jenolan Caves Dogs are welcome, on lead, as there are cattle in the neighbouring paddocks. Things to note: Shut gate after yourself Please bring your own plates, cutlery, Fire pit hot plates or grills. Bed linen is provided, please bring your own towels. We didn’t end up getting to stay at the cabin as we couldn’t get into the drive way. Would definitely recommend taking a four wheel drive if you are going after rain. Annabelle was lovely and did everything she could to help but it just didn’t work out. So would definitely recommend Annabelle as she was friendly, kind and helpful.

The perfect hideaway!! We had a lovely weekend and saw so much wildlife. It was so nice to dip our feet in the stream on a warm sunny day. And the shower was luxury when it was chilly in the evening! The cabin was so cosy and comfy. Would definitely recommend, and hope to come back one day. Next time will have to bring binoculars to watch the birds. Thank you Annabelle and Drew.

This is a magical place, where a lot of effort has been put into detail - not only are the caravans themselves vintage, so are the interiors and accessories (including a sunburst clock). We had a lovely relaxing time with many photo opportunities!

Highly recommend silky oaks. I was in the retro Glamping and there was everything you needed. Bed, bbq, outdoor chairs, fridge, kettle, fan and heater if needed. Outdoor shower with hot water and toilet. Great location close to Sydney but still peaceful and private. Lots to do wander around the farm, feed the horses (bring carrots) or explore the area. Highly recommend. The camping site were great too by the look of it.

We absolutely loved our weekend away to the cabin! It was extremely cold, but the fire pit and the indoor fireplace definitely helped. It’s a lovely location, beautiful night sky, and you feel completely isolated. We had a few issues with our car and the hosts were extremely helpful, Even coming to tow us out of trouble! Very friendly people and extremely helpful. I recommend this stay to anyone looking for a little escape, Just be prepared to collect a lot of firewood if you come during winter 😁

The Hideaway is absolutely beautiful and Annabelle is so lovely and helpful. The cabin is warm and cosy and you have absolutely everything you need to have an unplugged trip. Oberon is a 15 minute drive away and a wonderful town to visit with plenty of quality local businesses to support. We'll definitely be back!
