Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900. Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty. Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s. You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

We are also a 10-minute drive from the Severn River, home of the mighty Murray Cod. When you book a site with us, you get exclusive use of that entire section of the property. This means you won’t be bothered by other guests and will have the opportunity to truly relax and reset. If you are our only guests at the time, you will have access to the majority of the property. Camp Site One is at the top of our beautiful mountain and offers a very rare and special camping experience. Surrounded by pristine Australian bush and incredible rock formations, Camp Site One is a true gem that very few people have had the chance to experience—until now! Camp Site One is currently only accessible on foot or by horse. However, over half the climb can be done by 4WD. The second half of the climb takes you past amazing natural formations with many photo opportunities. The climb has been achieved by people in their 70s, though a reasonable level of fitness, appropriate clothing (including sturdy footwear), and sun protection is advisable. Camp Site One is one of the most peaceful places to camp, with a truly healing energy. Camp Site Two offers an awesome site with a mountain view. It is suitable for dirt bikes, horses, 4WDing, hiking, and much more. To access Site Two, a 4WD vehicle is preferable; however, it can be accessed by 2WD with sufficient clearance in dry weather. Camp Site Three is accessible by 4WD trail only. Site Three is a real gem, a large area at the back of the mountain accessible by one trail in and out. It is suitable for dirt bikes, 4WDs, horses, hiking, exploring, and much more. We also have unpowered sites for caravans and RVs. If you wish to camp on a site that requires 4WD access but do not have a 4WD, we can assist and drive you in and out for a small fee of $10 each way. All sites have mobile phone coverage. No sites currently provide amenities and are strictly "bring it in, carry it out."

Harper Farms is a fourth generation, family owned cattle property out of the small township of Cangai; just 50 minutes west of Grafton. Located along the Mann River, just one kilometre off the Gwydir Highway, campers will find easy access to our riverfront site. The property is bordered by the Dandahra Creek and the Mann River, and boasts a variety of native bird and wildlife; peacocks, platypus, ducks and the occasional pelican to name a few. The Mann River is open to fishing November - July; and is a local favourite as a kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming destination. Beef cattle and stock horses have been run continuously on the property since the early 1900s, and our friendly horses and cows will often pay a visit to the campsite. Along with our working dogs, we also run a small breeding kennel of Golden Retrievers and Border Collies. Dogs are always welcome on the farm, and we simply ask that camp visitors keep them under their control during their stay. A small shop with basic amenities (groceries, camp supplies, fishing bait, fuel) is located at Jackadgery; a 15 minutes drive east on the Gwydir Highway. To the west of Harper Farms lies the Gibraltar Range which hosts Washpool National Park with walking trails, waterfalls, rainforest and swimming areas. Away from the city lights, the Cangai area offers exceptional stargazing and is popular with keen astronomers and photographers. The host Susannah is extremely helpful and is there if you need her but otherwise your privacy is respected. This is only my second time using Hipcamp and I was impressed with camping at Fernlee Station

Fernlee has a series of beautiful campsites along the Severn River. They are private, well maintained and absolutely beautiful. It’s a bird watchers dream with at least 20 different species we saw. The river was running when we were there and it was great paddling and swimming

Absolutely incredible off-grid spot. The host is exceptionally friendly, and we even had a few horse and cow visitors wander by, which made the stay feel extra special. The property is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and far removed from the usual hustle and bustle. A truly stunning place to switch off and unwind — you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing views and swimming, flat cleared camping areas with plenty of firewood, plenty of wildlife. a few nice touches with the solar lights, fire pits and even rakes and shovels provided around the area. Adrian was a great bloke to meet for a chat. Will definitely be back 10/10.

We absolutely loved our 3 nights at Camp Cangai! Directions were spot on & very easy access for our 20’ van. We camped right on the river & the water was perfect for swimming every day. The site has plenty of room for groups (Mick said there was a group of 25 following us) but we had the place to ourselves. A nice, clean drop toilet is provided & has fantastic views! We also ordered firewood from Mick & he provided heaps! We took a drive over the bridge one day & ended up doing a big loop back to camp - really nice scenery. If you’re in the mood, it’s only 18kms to the Mann River cafe for a burger for lunch. They also sell fuel, alcohol, food & drinks. All in all, a spectacular way to spend time chilling out & totally relaxing. We sure did!

Weekend Trip to Binghi Station

We were lucky enough to arrive just after some pretty severe storms went through & were the only ones there. We had the entire 4,000 acres to ourselves! We took our electric mountain bikes & loved riding or walking to Sandy Falls, or even Secret Gorge, which was a little more challenging. Jump’n Rock is about 1/2 an hour by 4WD & absolutely worth the effort. All three sites are absolutely spectacular! Plenty of good camp sites at Shearing Shed Campground but as Adrian says, be prepared as none of them are level. We were OK as we have airbag suspension. Adrian, Oratai & their 5 year old twins were perfect hosts & couldn’t do enough for us. Such a lovely family, they deserve to do well. Worth mentioning the track in. Adrian is careful to state that the track is 4WD only & be aware that whatever you are towing needs plenty of ground clearance also. We have a Ford Ranger & towed a 20’ extreme off road van. The track is very well compacted, so we were never going to get bogged but some of the hills were quite rutted & rocky & we had our hearts in our mouths on the way out, with all 4 wheels spinning! Adrian tells me he has a D6 bulldozer booked in the next month or so, so that should make a huge difference. All in all, we just loved our experience at Binghi Station. Highly recommended!

This Hipcamp honestly took our breath away. The view alone is incredible, and the beautiful white flowers around the property made the whole place feel extra special the moment we arrived. It was really easy to find and access, and the location itself was peaceful and quiet — exactly what we were hoping for. When we pulled in, we saw a little kid feeding the horses and it was honestly the cutest, most wholesome welcome ever. The horses were gorgeous, and the amenities were spotless. The hot shower was perfect, and having a laundry available felt like such a luxury while camping. Our dog had the best time exploring the space, and we’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a calm, scenic getaway. Would absolutely stay again.

We loved our stay at Binghi Station and the hosts really make the effort to make your stay the best they can. Though we originally booked the Jump'n Rock site, the owners gave us insight of other sites that would be better for us with our two toddlers.. luckily we listened! We stayed at Sandy falls campsite and it was perfect for the kids.. and we did a day trip to the other sites anyway. There can be a few flies depending on the weather but bring your Bushman's Repellant like we did and you'll be fine! There's lots to explore and the rock landscapes are beautiful.. definitely one to remember. Very impressed by all the sites and our hosts!

3 nights at Binghi Station

Wow! Go. Just go! If you have a high clearance 4wd and love the outdoors - just do it. Adrian's property is gorgeous! Well maintained and Adrian himself is very personable, accommodating and helpful. The Shearers Shed Campground is spacious, lovely farm views, orange trees, toilets and a shower space to hang your portable shower and the sheep are friendly. Plenty of open space for the kids to run and play and there are various trees to provide some relief from the sun - and only a short walk to the Falls. The Gorge Campground was my fave! Good amenities including a shower setup. Campsites were beautiful next to the Gorge and the Gorge itself had a lovely swing and was a great swimming hole. Serenity plus! The falls.... Wow... Heaven... The falls were running - albeit not grand in flow or height, but it did not matter. This place has its own special magic that has to be experienced to be understood. Jumping Rock Campground was a beautiful spot if you like a good view and a more remote spot. It IS stunning. For me, I like to swim alot. So it wasn't my preferred campground just for this reason as the water wasn't flowing well and access to swimming in the water holes was a little more challenging. BUT, if you are there for the serenity and the views and love elevated gorges - this is for you. Overall - MAGIC. And I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone that is a nature lover. Adrian... Thank YOU. You are one lucky man!!!
