Oakdale is a lovely rural area; you will pass cow paddocks, mountains and beautiful country vistas on your drive to the property. The area is a mix of houses, hobby farmers, homes on acreage, equestrian centres, produce growers and National Park.
There is a glorious look-out in the National Park overlooking the Warragamba dam. Some days it is swept with clouds; enveloping you into the majestic heavens. It’s an easy ten min drive away. There is local towns 15mins drive for eating out and getting coffee.

From your private campsite, enjoy direct access to your own walking track, just 20 metres from the river’s edge. Take in river views right from your tent, and explore nearby swimming holes, soft sandy banks, and sun-warmed sandstone rocks. Bushwalking trails meander along the river and through the surrounding bushland, leading to picnic spots and more secluded swimming areas. Highlights include the stunning See Thru Pools, a family-friendly favourite, and the iconic Mermaid Pools, a 25-minute walk downstream. This remarkable site features dramatic sandstone cliffs, panoramic views of the Tahmoor Canyon, and a cascading waterfall. (no swimming)
Back at Rosewood Farm, you’ll be greeted by our friendly alpacas and pygmy goats who love pats, hand-feeding, and attention. Your spacious bell tent will be fully prepared for your arrival, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for up to four guests. The campsite is thoughtfully equipped with quality bedding, a mini Weber BBQ, battery lighting, a dining seating, an open fire pit, and a shared shower and toilet (located in a separate area attached to the farmhouse)
Native wildlife adds to the magic of your visit. You may spot bush wallabies, kangaroos, echidnas, frogs, and a wide variety of lizards, especially during the calm of early mornings and late afternoons. The area is also home to an abundance of stunning birdlife, making it a birdwatcher’s delight.

Welcome to Lyrebirds Nest, a quiet bush escape.
Lyrebirds Nest cottage is situated in the bush with forest views from the balcony and rooms. The cottage is setup for glamping with an wood stove, queen bed (BYO linen), sofa, electricity, filtered water (hot and cold), hot indoor shower and composting toilet. A bar fridge and microwave is also provided. The open fire is not to be used.
The surrounding land on the property includes a lake with jetty, sauna, olive grove, orchard and chicken coup.
There are great hikes on the property or you can follow the creek and continue into the State Forest.

Lyrebird was the perfect retreat for us to recover from a stressful year. A quiet and tranquil space where we could relax with our dogs and watch the birdlife on the deck, wander through the olive grove and say hello to the horses and goats, or potter down to the lily pond where the sauna was located.
The hosts were so welcoming and helpful; creating the perfect the first Hipcamp experience for us all, including some treats for us to feed the horses who were so friendly.
The cottage contains all you need, and is full of light and birdsong. We appreciated having a hot shower and absolutely loved the deck. Did not want to leave and wished we had booked a third night. I have not slept so soundly in a long time.
We used a portable dog fence to secure our dogs on the deck while we transported items to and from the cottage, and had long leads for walks so they could have some space without bothering livestock or wildlife. There were a lot of kangaroos when we went for a walk up the road, plus birdlife and cattle.

Stayed for 2 nights on the weekend with the family, it was lovely and my girls had the best time.
The tent was spacious & clean.
The host made the space very aesthetic and cozy. And out stay comfortable
There was Double bed and 2 single bed all with beddings, pillows and duvet covers perfect for family of 4 or any group of 4.
Everything needed for camping is there, Bbq, fridge, kettle toaster, so really we only need to bring some change clothes. The host also prepared some torches for my girls, lantern and spare batteries incase we need them, very thoughtful :)
And there’s a beautiful river nearby which was lovely for water play, quick dip, or just simply enjoy the nature . There’s also some beautiful pools with waterfalls cascades that require abit of hike 15-20 mins, we chose not to go because we have a 4yo with us.
The highlights for my daughters was the farm animals, Melissa lets them join in every feeding while we were there - lots of animals feeding & patting time, it was truly an experience for them.
This place is truly gems! Only abt 1 hour from Sydney
But feels secluded & private, shops are only 5 mins drive from the property. Its the easiest most convenient camping experience you’d have! Highly recommended! We will be back for sure

We had such a lovely stay at Hope’s view cabin! Carol was very warm and sweet. She even let us picked grapefruits from her garden and gave us some eggs from her hens, which was such a thoughtful touch. Her hospitality is truly exceptional. The cabin itself is cozy, spotless, and feels like home. There’s so much to explore and do on her beautiful property, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Our family trip to riverside glamping was fantastic. In the tent everything was neat and pretty with a welcome treat, and Melissa was super helpful and made sure we had no issues. Kids loved feeding the animals, and we even explored few of the recommended places that was mentioned in the file at the tent. The view from the tent is amazing, and wake up mornings with many different bird songs.

Weekend Trip to Silky Oaks Flower Farm
Highly recommend silky oaks. I was in the retro Glamping and there was everything you needed. Bed, bbq, outdoor chairs, fridge, kettle, fan and heater if needed. Outdoor shower with hot water and toilet.
Great location close to Sydney but still peaceful and private. Lots to do wander around the farm, feed the horses (bring carrots) or explore the area.
Highly recommend. The camping site were great too by the look of it.

The tent is set up in a beautiful location with a view on the campfire and the gorge. But most of all our family loved the pygmy goats. It was so great to be able to pet, hug and play with them all day long. We really enjoyed our weekend stay at Rosewood Farm! It is a stunning spot and the hosts were very kind and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved sitting around the fire pit under the stars at night and exploring their length of the pristine Bargo river below by day. We're hoping to come back in summer!
