Incredible central and private location, set back off the Snow Road in Oxley, Northeast Victoria, boasting natural riverplain terrain with diverse ecology, lagoons and rivers onsite. There is plenty to do in the area from wineries to walking tracks, snow fields to breweries, not to mention renowned Brown Brothers Winery and the Milawa Cheese Factory, just down the road.
There are tracks from your campsite that link to the sealed bike path which joins Wangaratta, Oxley and Milawa townships together. Then only a short walk, bike or scooter ride and you are at Miranda Winery, King River Cafe or Oxley Park (with playground and BBQ). There is also a communal swimming hole (King River) at the Stan Allen Reserve just before the Oxley Park. This is particularly great for the campsites that, although are perched on the banks of the King River, don’t have their own designated swimming hole. Also a key feature is, the irrigation during summer months keeping campsites green all year round as well as the natural lagoons to paddle in with the kayak.
If you are a keen fisherman, the King River is known for Cod and if you have booked one of the southern most sites you will be able to paddle up the river in a kayak fishing, (kayak not supplied).
There are no toilets available onsite and campers must be self-contained keeping in mind, there are toilet facilities at the Oxley Park. Pets are welcome but, must be contained within your site as there are livestock and other campers to consider.

Locally you are in the middle of the two famous valleys which offer some amazing gourmet experiences. You are within minutes from the King valley or the ovens Valley. And 50mins from Bright with all the beautiful towns and attractions on the way. You're spoilt for choice in this location for wineries, restaurants, berry farms. Famous town of Beechworth is only 30mins. Ideal location if you feel like leaving the magic camp ground that will provide you with a real sense of peace and relaxation with not a building in sight.

Really enjoyed the privacy of the spot and the space. Was clean and loved having the cattle roaming in the nearby fields. Would be perfect space in cooler weather as there isn’t any shade. King river is a 5-10min drive and perfect for swimming!

We had a great time at Willow Wood. Camp Site 1 has great access to a safe swimming section of the river. . We all had fun in the water - kids to grandparents! Plenty of shade and all grass. The beautiful Angus cows are a bonus.our second summer here.

We had a fantastic time at High Country Paradise once again (Third time camping there). Loretta is a great host, very friendly. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We enjoyed the water and seeing so many beautiful birds. The kids had so much fun playing in the water and there is so much space to run and ride bikes and play without disturbing anyone else. I love how the camp sites are far away from each other so we don't disturb each other. We will definitely be back again.

We had a fantastic time at our first ever Hipcamp stay. The location was amazing. We had camp site 3 which had a beautiful creek and stunning views. The location is secluded, we had plenty of room on the site and lots of space between other sites which was great. Overall such a wonderful experience and stay for our little family.

Lovely spot right infront of the dam where we spent a couple of the afternoons fishing after it cooled down. Walking distance to a lovely little winery. No shade from trees so make sure your own as it can get very hot.
