What a beautiful little part of the world! The Sunset camp site at the Joadja Gorge Camping Retreat is situated out of the way in private with such a good little lookout into the wilderness below. Beautiful big campfire site which is great for relaxing around or cooking up a storm and plenty of firewood too. A nice amount of room for a small family or plenty of room for a couple to relax. Dog friendly and the pups that are on the property are so lovely! A short walk through nature to the area toilet and outdoor shower, which a so clean and well maintained. Access to pre-prepared platters or grazing plates and beautiful wine that’s all supplied by local businesses from the area. The seafood platter in particular is so yummy and paired with a white wine from Artemis winery. Awesome bush walks around the property and into an incredible gorge with running water well below. Cannot wait to come back and relax in such a beautiful place away from all the hustle and bustle.

Amazing stay! Loved the campsite, very private and has a lot of equipment to make things a little easier. Perfect for a weekend out of the city without too much hassle/planning when packing. Polly the dog was also lovely company, super friendly and the sweeter temperament. David is a great host, would definitely recommend a stay here!

We loved our weekend at Wombat Hollow. The peace, open space, wild life and fresh air certainly recharged our batteries! I loved that the sites were so spread out, it gave us a real sense of being alone. Just what we needed. Vallances instructions were super helpful and we were able to safely navigate our way in with our 9m van.

Our group had such a lovely weekend at the billabong camp. A lovely secluded space! We swam in the creek, which was very refreshing and played on the tennis court up on the hill. There is a lovely winery not a far drive from the camp as well called lyrebird winery which we visited on the second day. Highly recommend staying here for a weekend.

Had a great weekend at Dharawal. Saw some Kookaburras and Possum's right near camp. The cabin was a nice luxury with power and a great drop toilet so close to camp. Would definitely recommend. There was some noise coming from nearby roads but it was few and far between.

Such a lovely property situated in a slice of heaven. I stayed at Sunset and had some trouble with tent pegs following heavy rain the night before and rocky terrain but I adapted and made it work. Leanne was really helpful and I found it was a nice touch, as a solo female traveler, having her son check in on me the first morning of my stay. Awesome to have a flushing clean toilet on site, it is an uphill walk but not far. I have no words to describe the gorge it was too epic. Loved waking up to the lyrebirds too. If you're undecided about booking, just do it you won't regret it. Thank you again Leanne :)

We had such a wonderful relaxing time at David's place amongst the trees and surrounded by nature. It was exactly what we needed to unwind. 100 acres of secluded paradise with a kilometer of free flowing pebbled creek. Bound on two sides by the craggy escarpments of the Budgong and Morton National Parks there is ample grassland to give a feeling of space yet an abundance of trees to wander through as you engage with the tame wildlife and magnificent birdlife. Bring your mountain bike, fishing rod, swimmers, hiking boots, tennis racket, basketball (a hoop on the tennis court) or climbing gear and leave the kids in the play area while you sit by the creek and listen to the water tumbling through the rocks. If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider. We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available. Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers. With the secluded bush surroundings and the quiet, it's hard to believe you're only an hour away from Sydney. You might even see a Koala There is strictly no accomodation in the Cabin. The camp features a camping toilet and bathing facilities, gas bbq, a kitchen washing area, a recreation space and dining table when the weather is bad. All you need to do is roll out your swag. Campers are encouraged to take their rubbish with them. There is access to power for campervans/caravans. Warm your toes at the outdoor fireplace whilst you chat with friends. (Please bring own firewood). You will be a 10 minute drive from the beautiful Dharawal National Park which has wonderful swimming holes and bush walks. The site is 15 minutes drive from Campbelltown, which offers all amenities of a large metropolitan city.

Welcome! Lovely to see you here. Our property is located in Arcadia, just 45 minutes from Sydney CBD. The campsite is located on the high side of the property that looks over into the valley & has stunning views of the Berowra National Park. There is a multitude of walking, hiking and mountain bike trails. There are also many nearby horse riding trails. The property backs on to Calabash Creek which is like a rain Forrest once you get down to the valley floor. Berowra waters is near by, whereby many fishing, canoeing, boating activities are available, coupled with some great cafes/restaurants. Campfires are allowed as long as there are no restrictions in place and they are supervised. Pets are welcome and can be off leash, however are the responsibility of their human parents. The property has ample room to accommodate larger groups that might want to hold milestone celebrations such as Birthday parties, whereby all sites will be closed to accommodate such events. Recently Calabash Haven hosted a party of 50 people for 50th Bday celebration. Feel free to inquire to see if we can accommodate your needs. Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and take all waste with them on departure.
