Weekend Trip to The Branch River Retreat

Peaceful spot alongside the river, we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to visit again. Pros: welcoming host, private and peaceful campsite, easy river access for a SUP or fishing or a rinse, safe from any major hazards for our toddler. Cons: toilet far away from site, lots of mosquitos early morning and evening, river is very dark so was a bit off putting to swim in but still refreshing, tent site on a bit of an incline which would be ideal to flatten further.

5 nights at Willow's Retreat

Willow's Wilderness was a great spot. Lots of birds, rock wallabies (or small kangaroos), there is a resident wombat who we heard at night and heard koalas. The spot we camped overlooked a valley and got some nice sun each day and was extremely peaceful. If staying when hot bringing some shade would be a good plan. There was also plenty of firewood and a long drop a short walk from camp. There are also plenty of trails about if you like bushwalking. The hosts, Phil & Lyndel, were great in making us feel welcome and provided clear directions and information. The extras on offer are also worth checking out. The mid-stay shower was gold! Couldn't ask for better hosts.

3 nights at Willow's Retreat

I absolutely love the Glossy Heights Location and both Phil and Lyndel were amazing about showing us where the set up is. Absolutely stunning grounds and beautiful night sky. There were some other people with us and they were super, super quiet and I felt like we had everything all to ourselves. Would 10/10 recommend this beautiful place to visit!

Loved camping here! It was peaceful and private. The river was beautiful. We camped near site #3. Debora met us at the gate to help us find our site as it was dark when we arrived. If you are by the river make sure to bring some mosquito repellent. We didn't see any dolphins this time but saw lots of other wildlife like crabs, possums, and kangaroos.

What a fantastic place! I almost don't want to write a review so that other people don't know about this hidden gem! Matt is lovely, the sites are big and well kept, short walk to the water for a dip, showers and toilets are great... what more can I say... we will be returning soon!

Lovely campsite with so much space and individual campfires. Bathrooms and showers were hot and very clean each day. We bought fire wood from the hosts which was handy but we would suggest having the logs cut a little smaller in future. Only for we had our own hatchet we would have struggled to get the fire going as we needed to chop smaller pieces before using the logs we bought. Lovely cafe and bar in the local village. We would definitely choose this campsite again. .

We offer camping and indoor accommodation. Our property is located on a relaxed 5 acres at the gateway to the Hunter Valley. Enjoy the lush forests and views of the mountain nearby. There's a number of great lookouts nearby if you're up for a walk. The Barn accommodation is great for groups who enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy your outdoor adventure with open living and eco tourism at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. Wildlife and bush tucker walks available. Firewood provided for your indoor fireplace. You will have access to a camp oven and rotating grill, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. There are toilet and shower amenities, and access to drinking water. There is phone reception in certain spots and limited wifi. There is no TV. The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym. You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks. Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam. There is access to toilets, showers, drinking water and rubbish facilities. Your furry friend is welcome to holiday with you.

Day trip in 4WD to South end of Barrington Tops Forest - I can take up to 3 people on a day trip to Barrington Tops Forest. Approximately 1 hour drive each way, 4 hours in the forest. Cost is $ 199.00 Tennis - The local tennis courts are 1 Km away and can be hired for $10 per hour. I have some balls and racquets but you may wish to bring your own rackets as mine are not very new.

The largest (brown) caravan at the front of the property has a double bed and 2 small single beds - so can sleep up to 4 people. It is suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids. The smallest caravan (green) has 2 single beds in it - please note that these beds are narrower than a standard single bed - see photos. Bed linen and Towels are provided only for the main house occupants - you must bring your own linen and towels when staying in the caravans. The medium caravan (blue) is in the backyard and can be used as a cubby house/chill out area or workspace. The house itself has recently been renovated, with care taken to retain its gorgeous vintage fixtures and furniture. There are coloured stained glass windows and lighting pendants throughout the house. This is our family holiday house so we have set it up with everything that you and your family will need to feel comfortable and at home. It’s an absolute paradise for kids with the trampoline, jetty, gypsy cubby house, kayaks and fishing opportunities. CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles. CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush. CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends. CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.
