Location great, 30mins to Penrith, 1hr 15 to blue mountains, no cows on property currently so no cow pats as mentioned by previous campers but grass is knee high as a result, Anthony was kind enough to bring us up some more firewood

What a cracking spot!!! The view is to die for, it was a pleasure staying, we had an amazing time, especially with the dogs being able to run freely at the site. Anthony was a wonderful host. Very accommodating and was all to happy to help us if needed. I couldn’t recommend Anthony and this site enough. We will definitely keep it in mind for our next trip away!

Lovely spot, with plenty of space and privacy even with another campers on site. Beautiful, picturesque views and lovely native birdsong in the mornings. Great place to watch the sunrise and star gazing at night. Great location to explore the surrounding areas. Would stay again!

What a lovely place to stay, especially with all the horses and chickens. The hosts are amazing! We based ourself here for trips into the Blue Mountains and Train Ride into the city. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Shady Acres Colo River

This was our second time coming to shady acres and will be back again. The campsite is nice and grassy with a firepit to use. The toilets and shower are modern and in good condition. The two campsites are a fair distance away so you have your own swimming area and it feels like you have the place to yourselves. The river is crystal clear and nice and shallow for kids to play around. Can recommend.

Beautiful property with direct access to the freshwater river. There are kayaks to borrow, a fire pit, lovely and well maintained bathroom and showers. Our host was sweet to come and say hello to us and her lovely dog also greeted us. There’s very limited reception here. Had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

My group very much enjoyed their stay at Shady Acres. Lisa had great communication and was a lovely host. She made sure we're all settled in and gave us tips on the area. The site and facilities were well-maintained and we had a good space between the nearest group. Definitely recommend this site to others.

It was our second time here with a large group booking and we had the best time ever. Celebrated new years there and it was honestly just such a great time, weather was on and the river was there with high tides during the day to swim around in. Back to basics site. Added bonus of a shower which we had not expected. The people we met were super friendly and totally chilled without late arrival and our late night after seeing fireworks on NYE in Sydney. Don’t forget insect repellent 🤣

We camped here on New Year’s Eve it was a brilliant view of Sydney we were able to see firework displays across the entire horizon all the way from Penrith to the city was incredible! The site itself was great with incredible views and we would definitely come back!

This property is a Pristine Riverfront property in Colo Valley. It is a tidal river with sandy shallow sandbars and 10ft deep swimming holes. There is an abundance of native animals here including kangaroos, lyre birds, lace monitors, platypus and more! Access is via a short dirt driveway to the riverfront camping area. The access is 2wd unless there has been significant rain it becomes 4wd access.We can accommodate both small and large groups with sites just steps away from the river. We have 2 water entrances, one is a large grassed area with shallow water which is great for kids & families. The other entrance is a natural sandy entry with a deeper swimming area suitable for adults. We also have a beautiful lagoon area where I can arrange additional campers. We have built some new flushing toilets (3) with a hot water shower.We are very accommodating of your pets. We welcome dogs and can host horses in one of the paddocks. Please ensure you contact the host prior to your stay if you are bringing any animals. We have canoes & floats which you can hire to paddle up the river. Additional activities here include fishing, swimming, bushwalking, canoeing & birdwatching. Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.

Please pick up after them ANYWHERE they go toilet and also they must be vaccinated. No cats allowed. A campfire during permitted times is allowed but only in the fire pits. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. All Sites have fire pits. CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. Please use bins supplied and leave no trace. * There are 4 allocated camp sites. Two are easy(2WD & Vans/trailers) access and have the direct view through the valley. Two require high wheel clearance vehicles (just small hill to drive up with some rocks), these are more private sites(cannot see the other campers) still with lovely views. Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.
