Originally settled in 1889 "Bobs Grant" this lovely property and the surrounding land was originally used for farming but is now mostly turf farms. Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river. Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are loving welcoming back our guests. Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not. Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney. We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice! We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water. Fires are only permitted when allowed, in the designated areas only.

Blue CornerStone Campsite – Oakville, Hawkesbury Welcome to Blue CornerStone, a simple, private 5-acre property in Oakville, just 1 hour northwest of Sydney and only minutes from the historic town of Windsor. This is not a large commercial campground – it’s our home, and we open it up to guests who enjoy the relaxed, down-to-earth feel of camping on private land. On the Central Coast just 1.5 hours from Sydney is this relaxing peaceful escape suitable for a few families or a group of friends. This place has a truly fascinating history. The huge backyard previously hosted an annual gypsy festival to celebrate International Romani day. The backyard is really the highlight - from the moment you step into it you will feel like you have escaped into your own little paradise. The house itself has 3 bedrooms, with 1 bathroom inside and 1 bathroom outside. Inside the house, which can sleep up to 8 people. In addition to the main house, there are 3 hand-made gypsy style caravans on site. The largest (brown) caravan at the front of the property has a double bed and 2 small single beds - so can sleep up to 4 people. It is suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids. The smallest caravan (green) has 2 single beds in it - please note that these beds are narrower than a standard single bed - see photos. Bed linen and Towels are provided only for the main house occupants - you must bring your own linen and towels when staying in the caravans. The medium caravan (blue) is in the backyard and can be used as a cubby house/chill out area or workspace. The house itself has recently been renovated, with care taken to retain its gorgeous vintage fixtures and furniture. There are coloured stained glass windows and lighting pendants throughout the house. This is our family holiday house so we have set it up with everything that you and your family will need to feel comfortable and at home. It’s an absolute paradise for kids with the trampoline, jetty, gypsy cubby house, kayaks and fishing opportunities. A quick 15 minute drive into Picton where you can find our local club and shops. Short drive to Nattai lookout overlooking Warragamba water catchment. Spectacular view. Also Thirlmere Lakes. Nearby Camden township restaurants, cafes, pool, bike track along Nepean River and more. We are located approximately 1 hour from Sydney airport so a day in the city is not out of the question. Shopping malls a short distance away. We have 4 horses, two dams, nice outlook, Clean tank water is available and picnic table can be provided. Please note we can no longer offer bathroom facilities. As we have horses, dogs must be on a leash. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit.

Weekend Trip to Down by the Hawkesbury - Exclusive

We just had the best weekend of camping at Down by the Hawkesbury. The site is so beautiful, and the facilities (particularly the undercover area) are excellent. The pizza oven had to change nationality for our curry night, so it could produce K & T’s amazing naan bread. Our group all had a wonderful time and we are so looking forward to our next stay at the end of the year. Thank you so much Megan and Trevor, you both made our stay so easy to arrange, and it was great when Trevor brought the dogs down to say hello. We would certainly recommend Down by the Hawkesbury to others, but please don’t book it when we want to visit!! Thanks again From our whole group.

Great little place and easy to find. Michaela (Host) was super nice, and Teddy the dog is the friendliest thing since I dont know when. This site is only 8 minutes from Windsor Beach, which is the start line of the Hawkesbury classic, marathon events, and other paddle based adventure. So it would make an extraordinary staging point to get the kayaks and canoes ready before any of these events. Loved staying here. Will stay again.

This campsite was honestly a dream. We had the whole place to ourselves and it felt like our own private getaway. Super peaceful, heaps of space, and nothing but nature around us. Nights by the fire under the stars were unreal, and mornings were just as good waking up to birds instead of alarms. It was clean, easy, and way more comfortable than we expected. Perfect mix of adventure and chill. If you’re after a camping spot that feels private and special, this is the one. Megan and Trev were very accommodating and super easy to deal with, the pups Coco pops and Millie were a pleasure to have around, Timmy on the neighbouring property was an good bloke Already planning our next trip back!

Megan and Trevor are the most amazing hosts, and their property and outlook is superb. Caravan site right on the magnificent Hawkesbury River, perfect for fishing if that is your desire or just relaxing and seeing the world go by. Surprisingly a shower and toilet was also available plus a private shelter with dining tables and chairs, fireplace and party lights! The outside fire pit was also a bonus. Their rascally sausage dogs were a delight! An amazing place and beautiful hosts - what more could you ask for? Thanks Megan and Trevor.

Great spot that isn't a million miles fr9m Sydney, yet it is far enough away to make you forget the stresses of the week. Lyndall was a lovely host, site was neat and tidy and firewood was a major bonus. Suitable if your set up / rig is large. Mobile reception is sketchy but it does exist.

This was our second visit, having loved it so much the first, and if at all possible, it was even better. Megan & Trevor are fantastic hosts who really want to make your stay enjoyable. We were very fortunate to have exceptional weather for our winter camp. Having multiple options to have a fire (either in the open, or in the brick fire place) also was a blessing. The pizza fire oven was also a hit! An added bonus was cuddles from the dogs & puppies they had on the farm. So much open space for the kids to run and play and also try their luck at fishing. Throw in a flushable toilet, electricity, a fridge / freezer, and a BBQ - there is not more you could want. The additions of the wood bar around the gazebo was equally beautiful, and was lovely sitting at in the morning having a cup of tea watching the river. Highly recommended.

1 night at Melon Green at Oakdale

What a wonderfully quiet and relaxing part of NSW. So close to the city yet you wouldn’t know it by the peace and quiet of Lyndall’s property. Whilst we experienced an unusually windy night, we still enjoyed the relaxing stay. Lyndall was most welcoming on our arrival and we’d certainly recommend the place.

Spent the weekend with my parents, brother and husband over the weekend and we had the best time! The gazebo was the best place to hang with the family and spend some quality time, we made good use of the pizza oven, fire place, fire pit & fridge! Everything was tidy and clean and Megan's communication through the days leading up to it was amazing! The place is private, however the neighbouring rental(?) spots is very quite close by and so on the first night, the neighbours who seem to have built in entertainment systems and speakers were playing music very loudly up until 1am which made it a pretty rough night for us. Also I may have missed this during the booking process, but there is also 4 dogs, which visit the site often :)
