Weekend Trip to Briarfield

Julia and Robert were great hosts. Directions were clear and simple. We were looking for a crisp winter camping experience in private surrounds and we certainly got that. Had a few visits from the curious residents (cows) but otherwise we had the place to ourselves. Some great national parks not too far away too. Will definitely be coming again.

Weekend Trip to Kai Iwi Estate

My son and I loved our trip to Kai Iwi Estate. Annabelle and Dave were extremely accommodating, and we felt extremely welcomed. The site itself was fantastic, my son had plenty of space to kick his footy around. The site was flat too, so we could set up our swag anywhere and we also had access to a fire pit, which we definitely needed because it gets extremely cold there. Fire wood is available, they ask for $5 per night for the wood. I happily paid a bit more. The site also has a toilet, washing machine, clothes line and a shower. There's also a kettle too. This site was a great weekend camp spot and I'll definitely be going back.

5 nights at Briarfield

Briarfiled is one of the most beautiful spots we have visited. The views are stunning and Julia and Robert are beautiful and hardworking people. We felt privileged to stay here and and share their property and particularly loved that we could enjoy the entire space to ourselves. Felt extremely safe and appreciated access to water from the water tank and being able to collect fallen wood for the fire. It was very cold given we visited when NSW was experiencing a polar blast and we even got to experience a little snow which was just stunning to sit in our warm van and look out and watch. We will definitely be back.

3 nights at Namoi Valley Escape

Best Hipcamp that we have been to it ticked all the boxes for us. Dave and Jocelyn are the nicest people who go out of their way to make you feel welcomed, the property is beautiful with lots of wild life and where we camped on the river it was very private and relaxing. The river was flowing nice and the cod were biting so if you go don’t forget to pack a fishing rod, we released the cod that we caught so they will be there waiting for the next lucky people to enjoy this great camping spot.

Up the top and surrounded by superb country valley views, Annabelle and caretaker Dave host a wonderful camping experience. Horses, friendly dogs, camp fire and beautiful amenities including shower, toilet and a washing machine exceeded expectations. Great value for money and a pleasure all round.

I loved camping here. There was plenty of room in the area set aside for camping. It was windy but I had expected that from reading previous reviews before booking so wasn't an issue for me. The facilities were great and clean. The view was great. It was close to Glen Innes and surrounding areas which made it a great base to go out from. I also loved the birdlife that was there.

Great location, easy to get to and lovely mown grass. We only stayed one night and had a bit of rain and wind but Dave set us up with some firewood so we could cook dinner. We felt like we were a million miles away from anyone. The cherry on top was the toilet and shower! Plus you can use the power and water if you need to. We loved it!

We had a great time at crackenback. Amazing spot right on the beautiful Macleay River, surrounded by lush green mountains. Beth and Ben are lovely and checked in daily to make sure everything was alright. Great amenities too. Highly recommend.

2 nights at Kai Iwi Estate

Nice, well kept and peaceful campground with a beautiful outlook. Dave was super helpful. He dropped off complimentary firewood to our site and also helped us with a repair on the awning before we left. The amenities were fabulous! We also enjoyed meeting the resident dogs Elvis and Truffles. The place can get windy so make sure to check the weather forecast and bring tie down ropes.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at Kai Iwi Estate during our New England high country road trip. Annabelle and Dave were incredibly easygoing hosts and it was a privilage to experience the tranquility of this property. The camp area is level and well-kept, with a stunning modern bathroom within a few meters. The driveway comes up quickly on a slight bend, so keep an eye on Google Maps as you approach. Highly recommend if you’re in the Glen Innes area.

Campground was awesome, ticked all our boxes. Hosts were super friendly & helpful. They greeted us when we arrived & came & said goodbye before we left. Would stay again! Our kids loved it too & place felt safe for them.

New Valley Dreaming

This cattle and sheep property in New Valley, half an hour south of Inverell, is raw and beautiful, with New Valley Creek running through it, swimming holes, and waterfalls. Newly laid trails make exploring the property easy, from valleys to hilltops. If you are looking for a natural wonderland, where you can enjoy Australian bush camping at its absolute best, this is it. The property is so spectacular, that parts of it have even been featured on TV's Farmer Wants a Wife. The terrain is rugged and hilly, but the host has created easy access to several excellent, grassy camping sites some exclusive to one group at a time, others around the large dam but still with plenty of space. They all have good road access for even 2WD, provided they have good clearance. The creek and rocks are stunning and will provide hours of fun. Fishing tours are run on the property at an extra cost, it is strictly catch and release and must discuss it beforehand with the host. We do not permit hunting as we want our guests to have and enjoy the tranquility and space. Please note, that our Farmer Wants a Wife site has a long-drop toilet and designated fire ring, however, our other sites are for completely self-contained campers only. If you are visiting during the shearing season, you are welcome to come and check it out for an insight into farm life! Pet friendly, but only small breeds, and must be kept on a lead at all times. Please discuss bringing your dog with the host before booking. Campfires are ok provided you BYO firepit, and they are kept small and manageable. There is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect for firewood. Strictly no cutting down of trees. No campfires during fire bans, or when conditions are not favourable. Whilst fishing tours are possible on the property, you must discuss your interest with the host prior as there are important rules around this and is , it's strictly catch-and-release only. We do not allow hunting of any description so that our visitors can have a quiet and relaxing stay without interruptions. Just five minutes up the road is Green Valley Fun Park with a huge playground, jumping pillow, animal walkabout, museum and 18 hole mini putt. So plenty to keep kids entertained both on and off the property!

We only take one booking/group, it's all yours.There are gullies to explore full of natural rock outcrops, ferns & enormous gum trees. Lots of little tracks to follow under the canopy of our great stringy bark trees. An abundance of wildlife to share your space with, kangaroos, wallabies, echidna & if you are lucky koalas! We back onto the start of the Wollomombi River, where we would suggest that you camp, but there are many beautiful spots.Please bring your own camp toilet. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome. Located just outside of Bendemeer, our property features 21 peaceful acres with frontage to the beautiful McDonald River and a nice flat shaded area for camping. This is the perfect getaway spot to relax, complete with platypus, wombats and amazing bird life, fishing for trout and yellow belly. Lots of kayaking and swimming in summer, and plenty in winter too if you're brave!). We're around 30 mins from Tamworth where you can find all the supermarkets and supply stores to meet your camping gear needs, and there's lots of great cafes and restaurants too. Power is available if required but not next to the river. Camp next to the river (4WD access only) with your tent or rooftop set up or park uphill overlooking the river with your caravan or motor home, it's only a little further away (100 metres) with power available. Campfires allowed at both locations ( fire season permitting) you will need to bring your own wood. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/ shower. Rain water is available for campers and caravans as required, and there is access to rubbish facilities. Your well behaved pet is welcome to camp with you.

Campers must be self sufficient, with their own toilet and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
