This cattle and sheep property in New Valley, half an hour south of Inverell, is raw and beautiful, with New Valley Creek running through it, swimming holes, and waterfalls. Newly laid trails make exploring the property easy, from valleys to hilltops. If you are looking for a natural wonderland, where you can enjoy Australian bush camping at its absolute best, this is it. The property is so spectacular, that parts of it have even been featured on TV's Farmer Wants a Wife. The terrain is rugged and hilly, but the host has created easy access to several excellent, grassy camping sites some exclusive to one group at a time, others around the large dam but still with plenty of space. They all have good road access for even 2WD, provided they have good clearance. The creek and rocks are stunning and will provide hours of fun. Fishing tours are run on the property at an extra cost, it is strictly catch and release and must discuss it beforehand with the host. We do not permit hunting as we want our guests to have and enjoy the tranquility and space. Please note, that our Farmer Wants a Wife site has a long-drop toilet and designated fire ring, however, our other sites are for completely self-contained campers only. If you are visiting during the shearing season, you are welcome to come and check it out for an insight into farm life! Pet friendly, but only small breeds, and must be kept on a lead at all times. Please discuss bringing your dog with the host before booking. Campfires are ok provided you BYO firepit, and they are kept small and manageable. There is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect for firewood. Strictly no cutting down of trees. No campfires during fire bans, or when conditions are not favourable. Whilst fishing tours are possible on the property, you must discuss your interest with the host prior as there are important rules around this and is , it's strictly catch-and-release only. Bimbivale is a working farm located half way between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway. We grow superfine wool, sheep and beef cattle, and we enjoy working with our Australian Stock Horses, Welsh Mountain Ponies and various working dogs on farm. There are critically endangered White Box - Yellow Box - Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodlands located across the property, making it a beautiful place to experience the great Aussie outdoors. Being granite country, the property offers some special rocky outcrops and features. You may get to see some rare or even endangered species here. At 1100 m elevation, the winters are cold (with occasional snow), and the summers are divine, with daytime maximums reaching a top of around 28-30 degrees. Activities include bushwalking, mountain biking, fishing for trout or yellow belly in the farm dams, watching spectacular sunrises or sunsets from elevated parts of the New England landscape, watching your campfire crackle (fire season permitting), visiting the nearby Dobson's Gin Distillery or Kentucky General Store (10-12 km), or treating yourself to Uralla's many fine eateries or shopping experiences just 20 km up the highway. Our camp sites are located along a central ridge line, which is fully accessible by motorhomes, caravans, camper trailers and two wheel drive cars in dry weather conditions. Most sites have a fire pit and access to water, but we recommend you byo drinking water. We can top up drinking water if required. Currently we prefer visitors who have their own ensuite/toilet facilities, although we will soon offer a toilet on-site. Sometimes we can offer eggs and fruit or vegetables from our orchard and garden. We are happy for your well-behaved dog to visit with you, as long as it remains confined or on a leash at all times. It was so beautiful, we had site to ourselves and it was lovely and quiet. Its dog friendly it was good to be able to have them off lead. Water was nice, took a bit of getting ised to clamouring over rocks and it is slippery in water so bring water shoes if you jave them. Road from Bellbrook pub to the campsite(40 min drive) is an adventure in itself going to single lane in places with stunning views to valley floor.. met one clown speeding around a corner so be careful .

We didn’t actually get to stay long at Briarfield as something came up and we had to leave early but I can say that it is an awesome place and Robert and Julia are great hosts who were more than understanding when our circumstances changed and we had to leave early and they actually refunded our money which we didn’t ask for or expect but it was much appreciated and it just shows the type of people that they are. We can’t wait to get back and enjoy their awesome property. The views from the campsites are amazing.

Loved our stay at this beautiful campsite. We had a spot just above the river. Short steep access to river. Suited for smaller setups. Heaps of room next level up. Water temp lovely for a swim. Clean practical toilets and showers. Would highly recommend staying here. Hope to be back one day.

Amazing experience camping at New Valley, Kay was so helpful to arrange the stay for our group of 3 families, tent, swags and a caravan. Freedom to pretty much do what we wanted, collect wood, fire, music etc. grassy area made it easy for camping especially with a baby. Kay and her husband were happy to show us around and let us explore the waterfall and rock pools on the property too. Would stay again for sure.

The dam site is nice a good view down the valley. We were serenaded by the frogs (but they cut out by bedtime) we saw wallabys black and pretty faced, kangaroos a couple of deer and lots of birds. There was plenty of camp fire wood also . It's in the property a bit but a good gravel track . Kay met us on the road and lead us there nice hosts.

We had a great time at Cracknback Riverside campground. There was plenty of space for our group of 12 to set up right next to the banks of the river. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and they had kayaks available for use scattered across the property which kept everyone entertained. The property has flushing toilets and solar powered hot showers a short walk away from the sites and plenty of fire pits available. Thank you Ben for being an amazing host!

Great spot! Great amenities! And great people! Highly recommend this spot! Only thing: don’t come in from dorrigo / Armidale way. Go through Kempsey / Belbrook. The road from dorrigo way was dangerous, scary, and slow due to the tight and soft turns.

Get in early for a riverside spot on a long weekend. Paddocks are well maintained with simple but nice amenities. Beautiful sunsets and friendly hosts.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Gets very windy in the evenings so prepared with you camping setup. Host are so friendly and made us feel welcome. Hot showers and toilets are great. Will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to New Valley Dreaming

This spot was perfect for us. Kay and Steve were absolutely amazing with communication and ensured everything was okay for our stay. The river was great to spend time by and loved just watching the wild goats traversing the rocky ravines. The stay was thoroughly relaxing and peaceful to just be out in hills with nature and escape everyday busy life for a while. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves the solitude when camping or even as a group that just wants a private space to spend together. We certainly plan to return.

1 night at New Valley Dreaming

A love warm welcome by Kay, and a heap of interaction before arrival, to ensure a successful check in. We got an upgrade to a beautifully stunning and very secluded spot, and Kay gave us a personal escort to the site. Definitely recommend a 4WD and off road trailer to get the the farmer wants a wife site if your booking there (the dam site, not quite as essential). So very worth it, though and sad to only have it as a stopover on the way to our final destination. Highly recommend if you are keen to get completely off the grid, away from any human noise and get back to nature.
