Holcomb Valley Ranch invites you to kick back and relax on our private, 400+ acre ranch in the San Bernardino Mountains. Centered around a 100+ acre meadow, filled with horses in summer months and surrounded by thousands of acres of mountainous National Forest.
Just 15 minutes from Big Bear Lake - a large recreational, fresh-water lake for summer swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and other super fun water activities.
The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails.
Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s).
The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents.
From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails.
After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow.
The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance.

Please note:
OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. It is strictly forbidden to ride your vehicles through the forest, meadow or off any established roads on or off property. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on. Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes.
Horses: The horses which may be roaming the meadow during your stay are not property of Holcomb Valley Ranch. When horses are present, guests and their pets are prohibited from entering the meadow. Please do not approach, interact, feed or touch the horses. This is for your safety and the safety of the horses. Do, however, take lots of photos! They make a perfect backdrop:)

Welcome to Scenic Cedars our campground in the small town of Scenic. It’s situated next to the Iron Goat Trailhead. We have two campsites for people to stay at and each has their own picnic tables. We plan on getting more amenities in the future and for now the toilets will be used at the trailhead which is a 2 minute walk. Parking can also be found there but there is also usually a spot open across old cascade highway in the gravel parking lot. If you like hiking this is the place to be. The Iron Goat Trail cuts through the property and has a ton of hiking for anyone. There’s a flat section for beginners or if you want to do switchbacks to the tunnels and lookout that’s also nearbye as well. If you like waterfalls Deception falls is also a good hike just a few minutes drive west on highway 2. Steven’s Pass is just under a 10 minutes drive east so if you like downhill biking that can be found there. I haven’t done it but across the highway are some nice hot springs you can hike up to. We have many exciting changes for our guests this year! Along with the geodesic dome, RV sites, wood-fires sauna, store, and cafe added last season, this year we will have 3 stargazer tents! Brand new tents at sites 1, 2, and 6- all Stargazers. Spend the night looking at the stars from the comfort of your own bed.
We will also be adding more DIY tent spots as the season progresses, so keep an eye out for those as well.

Waterfall Sanctuary is a hidden gem on 17 acres, bordered on two sides by the Gifford Pinchot N F. In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington. It's home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River with a swimming hole, & a short distance further to the Pacific Crest Trail.
A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River.
Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property.
Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, a container of water for each site.

Local activities such as hiking and visiting historic Julian, a short drive to Anza Borrego are all in the area. We are located on the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation, make either a left or right from Hwy 79 onto Camino San Ignacio in Warner Springs, CA, keep to the left at the loop and drive out about 5 miles . When you reach the Ranger Station at the stop sign, make the first left at the sign located at 1600 Camino San Ignacio and drive all the way out to the back. The Happy Camper is located on the left.

In addition to camping and educational tours, we host private and community events, grow and sell produce and eggs, hatch and sell chicks, rescue ratites, and support the local bee population (which gives us RAW honey to sell), and are working to open a private U-pick-by-appointment orchard. I learned to ski here when there was an old ski hill and tow ropes! Lots of mountain trails to hit right out the front door! My Father and Grandfather both spent time here and nothing has changed! It is single story with all open beam ceilings, wood floors throughout and hiking right out the door to miles and miles of trails! Stunning sunsets, a cute town with lots of live music quaint coffee shop. Explore snow shoeing, San epic sled hill, stargazing, off roading, hiking, kayaking, fishing, cross country skiiing, and our local downloading and skiiing mountains! 🏔️ You will fall in Love with Green Valley Lake!
