Windy Point × Palm Springs: Private Off-Grid Desert Parcel Raw, off-grid camping in Palm Springs' aptly named Windy Point area, set against a dramatic mountain face. Stunning views, easy drive to town, built for self-sufficient campers and vehicles. THE SITE Secure 7,500 sq ft parcel, fully enclosed by a 5' chain-link fence and lockable gate (16' opening). The fence keeps your vehicle, gear, and pets secure from coyotes. A quiet, secluded-feeling spot on the edge of town, though the fence is open chain-link and a public road runs alongside, so expect occasional passing traffic. To enter, clear a standard 6" curb (no cut-out), slowly, especially on the way out. On-site parking inside the fence, plus street parking. A streetlight keeps the site from going pitch-black, helping with safety at night. Picnic table included. Pets welcome (supervise, clean up, keep the gate closed). OFF-GRID, FULLY SELF-CONTAINED Completely off-grid: no water, power, toilets, showers, or trash service. Bring your own water, power, and portable toilet. Leave No Trace, pack out all trash and waste (no cleaning fees!). RV dump stations roughly 15 miles off-site (Morongo Casino area, Pilot, Flying J). Had a great time at the Boondock! A good, straightforward base camp for traveling around Palm Springs and the high desert nearby. Very windy as mentioned, but that's worth it for the beautiful views of the mountain and the calm of the area.

Good, secure site not far from North Palm Springs. There is a picnic table. There is also a bright light nearby that you have to face away from if you're in a tent, but it wasn't a problem. Alexander communicated perfectly, and the checking was super easy with the padlock.

A nice spot. The mountains behind the property are beautiful. Be aware the wind can really pick up. I'm traveling in an RV so it didn't make much difference to me. I think a tent camper might not have as comfortable of an experience. The area is fenced which is nice. I suggest keeping the gates closed. A couple of times several loose dogs wandered around the outside of the fence. I think they smelled my dogs so I was glad they weren't able to enter.

Site exactly as described: a fenced in lot in Palm Springs. It’s in a safe neighborhood and the mountains and sunsets were lovely. Our Starlink had great service. The wind warnings are valid - we luckily hit a very quiet week, but they did pick up toward the end and it was obvious they can get intense. Alexander communicated with us promptly and was great host. Would definitely stay again.

Exactly what the description is, although was extremely windy the night I stayed there, and I suspect that area is normally windy. The one thing that wasn't mentioned, was that you need to hop the curb into the property. It's not extremely high, but it is a normal curb, so be prepared to carefully get up and especially down it.

This was an adequate overnight parking space with plenty of easily accessible trails nearby. Having a fenced area was nice as I could let my dog out in the morning without having to keep a sharp eye out for coyotes or loose/feral dogs, which is common in the desert.

Was perfectly described with no exaggeration. Very honest assessment and the place worked out perfectly for me! I stayed there because I needed to do so cheaply and it was during the holidays when things are at the most expensive. I had no problems and it was pretty at night. Coyotes howling at night. I liked that.
