The surrounding bush is a haven for wildlife and you’re bound to see eastern greys, wallabies and perhaps even a wallaroo. Reptiles such as lace monitors, eastern water dragons and blue tongue lizards are often seen nearby.

Binghi Station Located approximately 4.5hours from Brisbane, Queensland, or 1.5 hour drive west of Tenterfield, New South Wales. Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900. Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty. Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s. You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

Located 19 km due east of the famous historical village of Tenterfield the working, cattle breeding, property "Mindoo" has recently opened its gates to campers. Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans. If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction. The Timbarra or Rocky River is an area of great beauty southeast of Tenterfield with soaring mountains cradling the river flats and undulating hills below and is a renowned cattle breeding region. The Petrie family have been in Tenterfield since 1860 and have owned properties in the valley for over 100 years. Tim’s great-grandfather was known as Rocky Jack because of his extensive holdings. Cattle are still walked up to the Timbarra Plateau property from the river properties ‘Man From Snowy River’ style. The Plateau can be seen rising above the valley to the north from the confluence of Demon Creek and the Timbarra/Rocky River. These flow along the Demon Fault which is clearly visible on a satellite map. The 3 valley properties ‘Corner Camp’, ‘Boundary’ and ‘’Pavels’ combined with ‘Timbarra Plateau’ total over 25000 acres. The whole valley was part of 2 earlier large selections averaging 100000 acres which gradually became broken up in the late 1800s/early 1990s. There is a proud timber history in the valley and the surrounding forested mountains with large sections of State Forest now transferred to Washpool National Park which abuts both the eastern and western boundaries of ‘Boundary’ (which takes its name from Boundary Creek). The National Park and Forestland State Forest can be accessed to the west via the Billirimba Fire Trail. The eastern section of Washpool stretches across to the Clarence River, the largest eastern river in NSW. Washpool is where the Cedar King went missing and was never located. The Timbarra/Rocky River flows into the Clarence at Tabulam and then on to Grafton and out to sea at Yamba. The headwaters of the Rocky are all the way south to the Glen Innes Grafton road so the river can rise quickly if there is a downpour upstream. Interestingly when the Chinese gold miners left the Timbarra Plateau they came down with rickshaws into the Timbarra Valley then scaled the mountains to the west, near Boundary Creek, looking for their next gold diggings towards Glen Innes. The Boundary campsites at Boundary Riverside, The Cockatoo, The China Wall, and the Caves are all suitable for caravans, RVs, Camping trailers, tents and swags as is Timbarra Plateau. Corner Camp and Pavels are suitable for camping trailers, tents and swags. Boundary campsites access are all unaffected if the river rises however we will not take bookings at Corner Camp or Pavels in the likelihood of the river rising as we are committed to safety and avoiding inconvenience for guests. The Rocky is a very special place and we have campers who first came as children and are now bringing their grandchildren. We expect our guests to treat the area respectfully, and only leave footprints and tyre tracks. The valley provides wonderful scenery and settings for bushwalking, birdwatching, photography, painting, bicycle riding, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing, or just kicking back relaxing by the river, listening to the soothing sounds of the water, birds, and the turtles and platypus splashing, or being amazed at the mirror like images on the waters surface on a still day or the flickering light of a campfire at night and the stars above.

Do you like private river swimming. You will need 4WD. ? Our property is in Dundurrabin which is inland from Coffs Harbour. Perfect for those seeking a spot 'off the beaten track.' You will need 4WD car, caravan/camper. There is no 2WD access. 4WD only. We offer beautiful river camping. Enjoy the company of platypus, turtles extensive bird life, reptiles, native flora and fauna. Spend your time swimming, river exploring & bush walking - all in total privacy. There is a pit toilet but you're welcome to bring your own amenities. Pets are welcome. Phone reception is limited. There is no Telstra signal, only Optus. Campsites are not allocated, you can choose wherever you would like to set up. We have 60 acres with the Blicks river running along the bottom end of the property. (our home is at the opposite end of the acreage so you will have your own space). We invite you to come and enjoy our property, groups and families welcome. Our only requirement is that you respect the river and the environment - no washing in the river (shampoo, dishwashing liquid etc). Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions!

Find us on a large property on the banks of the Timbarra River, located 20 km / 30 min south of Drake Village (an old gold mining community). We share the property with lots of wildlife, and with our resident cows. There is currently only one camping site accessible by car (the River Block), but if you're up for a trek we can point you to the back hills where you'll find a whole other world. Your hosts live further back on the property so you can find us if you need help. Please note there is no mobile reception, so it is a great way to get away from it all. There are no bins here... please remove all your rubbish on departure. Campfires are welcome (when no fire ban). You can bring your own firewood, or gather what fallen timber you can find. There is currently no toilet, shower or drinking water so please bring your supplies. Pets possible on request. We love having furry friends visiting, but we also love our local wildlife and our lawnmower cows, and we like to keep their camper experience stress-free too.
