We had an amazing camping experience! The campsite was incredibly private and secluded, surrounded by beautiful trees that made us feel like we had our own little piece of nature. It was peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to relax and disconnect. One of the highlights of our stay was spending the evening looking up at the beautiful night sky. It was such a special experience and gave us the opportunity to create wonderful memories together as a family. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in nature, we highly recommend this campground!

Sound Ground was a very good experience, the place was clean and they give you a bundle of firewood for free when you get there, I would go back to camp again.

Tent camped at Sotol Primitive Site, Jul 2026.

    Recommends

I was extremely happy with my stay at Sound Ground. I stayed on Sotol and rented both a tent and a mat for comfort. The tent and mat rental saved me a ton of money!! I suggest bringing a 2.5 gallon water bottle for showering as there is not a shower on site (but this is my favorite way to bathe in the woods anyway). The people that live on the property are super cool and were very hospitable the entire time. I can happily say I made amazing friends and had the most beautifully cleansing experience immerse in total solitude amongst huge cedars and Texas oak trees.
