(Add the one free bag under extra's. ) All campsites are well spaced apart and feature a huge view, fire pit, swing, chairs, bench, and a campsite cooker. Mushroom Trail featuring full size DoDo birds and giant connect 4 game is now open and free to all guests. Our private roads are in great shape. We are located 10 minutes from the interstate and Winterplace Ski Resort and just 20 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. Corn hole boards, swings, campsite cookers and chairs are provided. Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. Google link, trail map, and campsite location map will be emailed the day before arrival. The onsite Porta John is cleaned every month. Prior to the first family inhabiting this gravel road it was used as a bird sanctuary. To this day, the entire road maintains one of the most diverse displays of Appalachian aviary wildlife. Brand new professionally built home with absolutely amazing views. Sleeps eight. Two bedroom one bath new construction now ready for guests. We are located just 19 miles from New River Gorge Park and only 5 minutes from Weathered Ground Brewery. Great cell phone reception. The large upstairs bedroom features a California king bed with a view you will never forget. The downstairs bedroom sleeps two and has a queen bed and TV. The living room has two sleeper sofa white leather couches and a big screen TV and a gas fireplace. Kitchen has all necessary items and all new black stainless appliances. The bathroom has a shower and a bath and provides all necessary linens provided in the bathroom and the bedrooms. The outside features some of the best views you could ask for. Pictures don’t do this view Justice. Very close to New River Gorge National Park. Wal-mart does deliver here. We do have security cameras on site mainly for theft. We are located just 15 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. The mushroom trail is now open and free to all guests. It features over 60 different giant mushrooms, giant flowers, and a large natural sandbox to give your little ones something to do. Great stay! Sites are first come first serve with some spots better than others. Great views and nice privacy. There are no showers on site for the camp sites. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place and would stay again!

This is an outstanding place to Basecamp for New River Gorge NP. The sites have amazing views and the property is gorgeous. We will be back to this site very soon. Also, Tony was an excellent host.

The view was gorgeous. I will caution other people who book, that since it is first come first serve, there are some significantly smaller camp sites on the property with less of a view, so it could be somewhat disappointing spending the same amount of money if you don’t get lucky on the spot you want. There was a bench, four chairs, a fire pit and two loungers at our site which was awesome. There is a trashcan right at the site. Depending on where you pick, it can be a little bit of a walk to the porta john. It’s not as clean as we had expected it to be and the hand sanitizer inside of it is empty, so bring your own. The little mushroom trial is really cute and a short little stroll to enjoy. Watching the sunrise and sunset on the mountain top was incredible! The sites were not as private as expected. You will hear other campers and depending on the spot you’re at, they will walk through and/or past you to use the bathroom/get firewood. Lots of greenery around, saw a few bunnies and lots of pretty butterflies and tons of grasshoppers. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would camp here again on a weekend I’d assume it to be slow given the first come first serve rule.

We loved this place. Our only regret is that we only had one night. We were at site 104 and it was so peaceful and quiet. We didn’t even know there were other campers nearby because the sites were well spread out. We had a beautiful view of the stars and even saw the Milky Way. The site was well maintained and we were happy to see there were chairs provided. I can tell even more improvements are being made as well. We would absolutely stay here again!

My husband, dog, and I enjoyed our weekend at this campsite. It felt very private but close to a lot of hikes and activities. We enjoyed watching the sunrise and star gazing. I would recommend for anyone coming to the area!

The porter potty was not in great shape, but served its intended purpose. Tony was help getting us to the campground though! The mushroom trail was great for the kids, and they loved being able to roam about and catch the grasshoppers

Well kept camp. You can see the work that has been put into it. The view is beautiful . Mushroom trail is a cute stroll. We just didn’t feel that it was private enough for us. We were always primitive tent campers and not campgrounds campers. The cabins on the hill are very beautiful but the decks overlook the campsites. We just need something more secluded. I think this is a good site for families.

We had a fantastic stay at site 7, plenty of space for our 22 ft travel trailer. Great views, super friendly and responsive host, firewood available (although we didn’t get round to using it!), would definitely stay again. We filled our fresh water at Beckley travel plaza on the way and used the dump site at Camp Creek state park on the way out. Convenient for this off grid location.

One highly recommended Hipcamp in West Virginia that offers stunning mountain views and great hosts. This spot provides breathtaking panoramic views, especially at sunrise and sunset. We enjoyed our week stay very much and highly recommended this beautiful property.

I had a fantastic time at Site 104 on Tony’s mountaintop retreat. The views were absolutely everything and truly breathtaking. They stood out as the highlight of my entire stay. The campsite was very well maintained with a nice fire pit and chairs, a pleasant little trail right on site, drinking water, and a portajohn on the property. Tony was an excellent host and very responsive and helpful with any questions I had. It is a little far from the New River Gorge Bridge, but it is still a wonderful and peaceful spot that is totally worth it. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic, tranquil views! The owners have done a great job of developing the campsites. Sites are spread out, so privacy isn’t an issue. There are also a good number of camping related amenities which saves you from toting along some of your own items. The booking and site access process were super easy as well. Tony was easy to work with and guest oriented. Mountaintop Retreat has fantastic potential for the future in addition to the thoughtful work completed so far. Worth a stay for sure!

Amazing views from all the campsites. We loved being able to purchase wood on site and not have to worry about carrying any. The swings, bench, fire pit and picnic table were also a great plus for a family with kids like us. We will definitely be back!

Second year in a row, last year it snowed a lot. This year did not disappoint, clear skies, wonderful stars and views all around! Easier to get there with daylight to find a spot but sites have signs and lights which helps.

Beautiful location! We chose #106 which is very private with a beautiful view. Tony was very responsive when we the firewood location was empty and brought some to our site. We will definitely visit again!
