The River

If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 88 acres 10 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply pulled up our laneway at our house and follow the signs to the River.
We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters.
Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch .
We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy .
We have a canoe, an adult kayak and child’s kayaks included . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks.
2 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies.
We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in. Currently there is no sand at the water entry but it is in the future to be getting some.
The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 22 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more.
A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road .
If we plan it ahead of time to ensure we are home we are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point.
Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a filling and dumping station there for a small fee from the park.
Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the empire cheese factory and chocolate factory all within 10 minutes from our house .
Campbellford is full of little shops and stores.
It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen.
Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Only 1-2 pets are permitted during your stay at the Dome.
Please note that Dome guests do not have access to Marmora Retreat's Farmhouse area, pool, and waterfront dock area.
The hot tub may require up to 4 hours to reach optimal temperature, which can vary depending on the outdoor temperature.
This year, we've encountered issues with wet wood, affecting our firewood supply. To ensure you have a cozy experience, we kindly request that all guests bring their own dry firewood. While we'll still offer firewood, we regret to inform you that we cannot guarantee its dryness. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Outdoor Fires - based around the Marmora township, all fire warnings are set at the time of your visit. All outdoor fires must be small, controlled and monitored at all times, they must also be put out with water before being left.
Sound - after 10:00 pm there is a noise curfew, but even before that you must make sure you are respectful of other guests on the property who come to relax, as well as our neighbors in this quiet countryside region. In the event of any noise rule violations, such as loud music or disturbances after 10:00 PM, a $500 fee will be applied from the deposit.
Power - we are on solar energy, embracing an eco-conscious lifestyle. Our off-grid setup ensures that your stay in the Dome is in harmony with nature. The water system operates on a pump-action system. Enjoy a sustainable, peaceful retreat, leaving a lighter impact on the environment during your stay.

The 110-acre estate has been overtaken with Red Cedars at the front of the property, and also has a mature forest at the rear of the property.
It has become a sort of refuge for wildlife.
Deer, bunnies, and even Coyotes roam freely on what has over the past 20 or 30 years become a young forest.
This is a place of quiet reflection.
however, it is also a great place to reunite with loved ones over exciting conversations, music, and drinks over the flame of a campfire. However, we exercise a quiet hours policy starting at 11pm. No loud music or loud talking.
We are in close proximity to the first and most prominent vineyard in PEC.
(Wauppos Estates).
They have some of the best wine you will find here, and spectacular gardens on the lake with a south-facing dock.
Grab a glass of wine and wander the grounds.
They also have a petting zoo, ice cream, and a market where you can grab food, drinks, or some fresh local produce.
Nearby there are blueberry and strawberry fields where you can pick your own fruit.
Right around the corner from us we have our favourite wine maker at Amanda’s Winery.

Southern Heights Acres

Our land is very private and beautifully sheltered by trees all around the campsite. There is an open field as well that also has trees on the outskirts. A video is available upon request! Fenella is a small village about 7 min away that has a large convenience/ grocery/Beer store as well as gas stations and Canabis beyond belief ! Go carts, food trucks and the best Butter Tart Factory as well! Warkworth is a town east of us about 20 min and Cobourg is 20 min South of us. Many shopping experiences available. Primrose Donkey Sanctuary is down the road a few minutes which we highly suggest visiting. Look their hours up before planning a visit! We have easy access up our road about 1 km to the Northumberland Trails where you can ride your horses, cycle, ride your ATVs,walk or jog. We have goats and can provide goat walks on our own trails when requested. We raise Organically Fed Pastured Chickens available for purchase as well as Free Range eggs!
Dogs are welcome as long as they are constantly on a leash, as we have chickens that free range!
We ask that you bring your own water and hydro please.
We hosted 35-40 endurance horses and their riders in August of 2022!

Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing.
This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape and stay on the marked trails. Some are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well.
