3 Jewels Peace Garden

13. 3 Jewels Peace Garden

26mi from Fort Campbell North · 5 sites · Tents, RVs, Lodging · Cadiz, KY
Meditation practice onsite, including Buddhist daily practice and ce-5 on new moon Saturday. Guest cabin with 2 beds, linens, water jug, device charging, electric; Buddhist shrine with 4 soft Japanese tatami floor beds, electric, device charging, water jug; limited level tent camping with large group fire ring, 1 small rv (<24ft) allowed with no electric. Camp toilet on site. Composter available for vegetarian food waste. 7 gallon water jugs available for handwashing and pan washing, just use biodegradable soap. Although there are no showers available to campers/guests, on request I will take folks for a pool, sauna and steam spa day at Lake Barkley resort where I am a member, $10 cover per guest. Plenty of hiking is available at LBL, just 8 miles away. I can provide intel on good fishing and backcountry spots. There is fantastic antiquing and thrifting in Cadiz and Murray, and I can introduce you to the Amish market for the most affordable groceries you've ever bought in your life. Sometimes I cook for people especially if it's a group. It'll usually be vegan chili con carne and skillet cornbread, Korean chajangmen, or some tasty variety of Asian seasoned vegetable soup with homemade bread. I am 90% ovo-lacto vegetarian except in cases of hunting guests offering their own catfish, bass, venison, boar or turkey, in which case I fire up the bbq and get busy, because hunters are essential for environmental preservation. The fire ring is available for traditional cast iron cooking. Dogs under 50 lbs are welcome if they're trained, you clean up after them, keep them leashed around guests and kenneled at night. I have 2 small dogs and I can kennel them on request.

Hickory Hollow Treehouse

15. Hickory Hollow Treehouse

45mi from Fort Campbell North · 1 site · Lodging · Pegram, TN
Connect with nature at this unforgettable escape in Nashville’s backyard. Nestled in a Tennessee hardwood forest, this treehouse sits in a quiet hollow—just 20 minutes from the city, yet a world away. It’s not a tree fort, but a tiny house in the trees, perched above a spring-fed creek. Private and peaceful, all the windows face the forest, giving you the joy of childhood adventure with the comforts of home: toilet, A/C, electric fireplace, heater, and a three-season heated outdoor shower. The treehouse is located about 50 yards down a trail from the main house. Stone steps lead up the hillside to the porch entrance. Inside, large windows bring in forest views while maintaining your privacy. The main room features two comfy chairs, a kitchenette with glasses, cups, plates, a mini fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker for cozy mornings. The “outhouse” is eco-friendly—a composting toilet located on the front deck. On the back deck, you can relax to the sound of a trickling spring, or enjoy the heated outdoor shower (available March–November; rates are discounted 20% during the off-season). For indoor washing, a five-gallon glass pitcher with a bowl serves as a rustic sink. Sleeping is in the loft, up a steep staircase ladder, with a queen bed and lush linens. While not ADA-accessible and not suited for those needing special assistance, the setup is perfect for adventurous, able-bodied guests seeking a unique stay. There are two other homes on the property, both occupied, but everyone respects each other’s privacy. No one will come to the treehouse during your stay. The owners live onsite in the main house and are available if you need anything, but will otherwise give you complete space. The path to the treehouse is lit at night, but it can get very dark on the road—so bring a flashlight just in case. Message us through the app if you need help. Traci monitors messages closely, and Todd is usually around if you need a hand.

Nestled on a sprawling 40 acre farm just 15 miles from downtown Nashville, this cozy cabin is a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature's beauty. At the front of the property you will find horses in the paddocks as well as chickens, mini donkeys, a sheep, a pig, mini Highland cows, and dwarf Nigerian goats, all within the barnyard. A spring fed creek runs along the front of the property by the road and there is a stocked one acre pond near the main home. Also near the main home is treehouse "cabin" complete with a swinging bridge. Feel free to bring fishing poles, feed and pet the animals, and gather eggs early in the morning. Tucked in the hollow of the surrounding ridges, the rustic cabin sits on the hillside with a small pond at the foot. A wide front deck with rocking chairs and a double glider overlooks the pond, offering a perfect spot to have coffee at sunrise or unwind beneath the stars.
