Sugarloafers is located on a portion of the old Ocoee Outdoors Zipline. It is nestled along the lower Ocoee river with great views of Sugarloaf and Big Frog Mountains. This is an excellent gateway to Parksville Lake and the Cherokee National Forest and all the activities it affords including whitewater rafting on the Hiwasee and Ocoee Rivers, mountain biking, kayaking, lazy river tubing/floating, fishing, and so much more! Our property is one of nine - 5 acre tracts along the river. As of Fall of 2024, the adjacent lots have houses on them. So while this campsite is some distance from the houses, it is currently within view. Although the campsite is back from the highway, road noise can be an issue especially on the weekends. Highway 64 is one of three major roads in the county. Unfortunatley, tents don't block the sounds of Harleys racing down the road at 2 a.m. Consider bringing earplugs or muffs if you are a light sleeper! Within a mile from the end of the driveway there is: Food - Subway Sandwich Shop and the Gondoler restaraunt. Whitewater Outfitters - Ocoee Outdoors, NOC Ocoee Outpost, ACE Ocoee Adventures Myrtles Cafe is now two miles east next to the Firefly Market. Please consider visiting these local business, they provide excellent service. Other - Rock Creek Oufitters Ocoee Store, Ocoee Express Gas Station and Convenience Store, Sugarloaf River Park and Parksville Dam and the entrance to the Cherokee National Forest! Dollar General & Foodcity - 4.2 miles back towards Cleveland (because someone forgot their phone charging cable and you want a 6 pack of beer). Middle Ocoee Private boater takeout is only a 10 minute drive east on Hwy 64. Consider a hike to beautiful Benton Falls - drive to the top of Chilhowee Mountain and it's a 3 mile round trip hike. !!!ALSO!!! Due to the massive damage caused by hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024 - especially to I-40 through the mountains - Highway 64 is now one of the primary routes into NC from TN. Expect traffic along this route to be busier than normal.

Weekend Trip to Sugarloafers on the Lower Ocoee

This place was the best of both worlds! Close enough to basic things you may need like a gas station right down the road, coffee shop, and ice cream shop right across the street. But secluded enough to feel away from the world. Cars passed by down the road all night of course but we had our sound machine and ear plugs so there were no issues there. The neighbors dog was left out all night one night and did bark for hours, which of course is no fault of Brian’s. The next night the dog wasn’t left outside so much better sleep! Just be mindful if you do have reactive dogs, Brian was kind enough to warn us before we came and we had no issues since the neighbors dogs all stay on their own property. We cherished our time here and will absolutely be booking again soon!!

We really loved this place!!! Only complaint would be the dog that’s tied up to the towers next door at the white house barked the entire night so being a tent camper… 😬 but if you don’t mind that it really is a place I would recommend!

Hey everyone, Just wanted to share our awesome experience at Riverside Tent & RV! My friend and I took our campers there for four nights, and it was perfect. The location is super convenient – right in the middle of everything, so we could easily hit up all the cool spots nearby. We spent a bunch of time fishing in the Ocoee River – such a relaxing way to spend a day! And of course, we did some sightseeing too. Brian, our host, was fantastic – so helpful and gave us tons of great tips on things to do. Seriously, if you're planning a fun-filled weekend with river rafting, fishing, or just exploring the area, you HAVE to check out Riverside Tent & RV. We had a blast!

Brian’s land is a hidden treat within close proximity to the mountains, hiking and the river! The amenities were nice and we loved being on the water! We hiked the area close by and while it rained during our stay, we also snuck into Blue Ridge to do some indoor activities. Small note that the neighbor’s dog barked at us most of the time from far away, it was not a big deal for us but just a heads up in case you have reactive dogs.

Weekend Trip to Talking Rock Motorcoach Resort

Great find! Brand new campsite, paved sites, full hookups and views of the surrounding mountains. Very nice clubhouse and amenities. Pickle ball courts, the list goes on!! My parents are headed there this weekend. Boxcar Grille and Brewery 5 minutes away. Haunted house nearby too!! Will definitely be back. Scooter and bicycle friendly.

Wonderfully shaded site with access to the river. They have a grill and a table with umbrella as well as a porta potty they keep clean and maintained. Close to Sugarloaf park which has bathrooms, playground and water access as well. No electric and no water, but totally worth it!

Weekend Trip to Mac Farms

The camping area was perfect! The field behind the owner's house drops in elevation so there's a hill between the house and the camping area. No houses to be seen anywhere when camping, leaving perfect privacy! It was great to let the dogs roam without worry as well. Would love to come back for a longer stay soon!
