In a nutshell: you plus any sized boat plus friends divided by Norris Lake equals most fun weekend ever. Dig a little deeper into all that Norris Dam State Park has to offer and throw in some hiking to spice it up a bit. Moderate hikers should check out the 2.4 mile Lakeside Loop for a shoreline stroll and views of the striking landscape–no filter needed. In case of a rainy day check out the park’s Lenoir Museum Cultural Complex to explore Appalachian artifacts galore.

Campsites are small with little privacy but we rented a boat and stayed on the lake during the day so it didn't matter. Beautiful lake with several restaurants on the water.
