Three-thousand-acres of scenic serenity, Hueston Woods State Park is a plethora for filterless photo opportunities and outdoor activities; the paddling-savvy ilk speak highly of the six-hundred-acre Acon Lake that’s nestled within the confines of the Hueston Woods State Forest.. In the like-named campground, you’ll be able to pitch-up your tent―or even hook up your small- to medium-sized RV―and stay the night. Make sure to secure your campsite in advance; they fill-up quickly!

The biggest draw for me is that we've had relatives stay in the on-site lodge while we stayed in the campground. Everybody wins.

Great for sailing, not so much for camping. Maybe our mistake was visiting the campgrounds during Labor Day weekend. The place was packed, and there was loads of noise from other campers, dogs, music, etc. I would love to find a place that's a bit more secluded.

Bring your canoe or kayak ... or simply rent one from the lake! This park offers free launching of your person watercraft. The campground is covered in tall old growth trees creating a beautifully shaded area to relax by the fire. BEWARE of the raccoons! They will invite themselves to dinner, rummage thru your belongings, and scoff at your attempts of scaring them away.

Super wooded campground with tons of shade. Free access to the lakes launch ramp means kayak and paddle board comes along!Full moon views at night.
