Oakey Ridge – Nature, Views & Wildlife on a Pet-Friendly Farm Nestled in the scenic hills between Lismore and Nimbin on our peaceful 277-acre beef cattle farm. This is a place to unplug, unwind, and reconnect with nature. The property features a running creek, seasonal waterfalls, subtropical rainforest pockets, and open ridge lines with sweeping views. Our bushland is home to abundant wildlife – keep an eye out for wallabies, native birds, and if you’re lucky, a koala drinking from our treetop water stations. 🐾 Pet-Friendly: We love dogs, and they love it here too! Many of our guests bring their furry friends along for the adventure. There’s plenty of space to explore, just keep them supervised and under control around livestock and wildlife. 🌿 Nature & Adventure: Explore our designated nature corridor, take a peaceful walk, or hike up to one of our lookouts. For those with a 4WD, parts of the property offer even more to discover. 🚗 2WD Access: No 4WD? No worries! All main campsites are 2WD accessible and well spaced for privacy and comfort. 🛁 Clean Facilities: We provide simple, clean, and well-maintained amenities to make your stay comfortable. 🌱 Regeneration in Progress: We’re proud to be actively involved in land regeneration and sustainable farming practices, working to support biodiversity and a healthy future for the land. Oakey Ridge is nestled in the hills between Lismore and Nimbin. This 270ac property with a running creek, dry rainforest pockets, nature corridors, views, seasonal waterfalls and abundant wildlife running as a quiet beef cattle farm. 
Our main camping area stretches 900m along a ridge line that captures views from every direction. It is 2WD accessible and have many designated sites to choose from or create your own site if you wish. Within minutes walking distance to the bathroom and camp kitchen while still offering privacy and views of the property. If your 4WD & camping enthusiast and want that remote isolated camp spot We have many tracks around the property to find areas from private creek frontage, shaded valleys or elevated hilltops with views for kilometers. Our 4wd tracks are weather dependent if wanting to remote 4WD camp message first so can get an idea of your requirements and make some suggestions and prepare a site. 
We endeavour to make all our sites as private and where we can, out of view of other campers, whether its a late night stargaze around the fire or an early start to enjoy the sunrise, its like having the farm to yourself. From scenic high ridge lines to peaceful valleys there are many options to choose from. Finding that perfect spot is only limited by your imagination, and in some cases , access to a 4WD
Disconnect from every day life and enjoy the outdoors, Connect with your friends and family around the campfire, and if you need to keep in touch with the bustle, we have good Telstra mobile reception over most of the property and offer free wifi around camp kitchen Our bathroom has 2 flushing toilets and hot shower. We also have a camp kitchen with hot water, kettle, fridge and BBQ We take group bookings that offer large camp sites, powered areas and tailored camping options. Groups of 15 can have exclusive areas of the property Message me for information regarding your group. 
Lots to do in the local area, we are located 25 mins to both Nimbin & Lismore and 1 hour to Byron Bay.

Our camping trip to Oakey Ridge was fantastic! The views were absolutely spectacular, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. It was very muddy due to the recent rainfall, but Greg and his helper made everything so easy that we were able to thoroughly enjoy our stay. When we arrived, my car wasn't able to get through the mud, so they used their buggy to transport all of our belongings to our campsite. They even gave the kids rides in the buggy and put up a hammock for them to play in, which they absolutely loved. Every day they checked in to see if we needed anything else, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Their friendliness, generosity, and willingness to help made all the difference. We can't wait to come back!

Perfect campsite for anyone

I had an amazing time camping for 3 nights on this property recently. Greg and Shane were the best hosts anyone could ask for. They helped out when anything went wrong and were great people to have a chat with. The neighbouring campers were friendly and respectful. Overall great property that has great adventures and a perfect stay.

We absolutely loved Oakey Ridge—what an incredible spot! We stayed at the Waterfall campsite and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The property is huge, peaceful, and yess you can go walk the waterfall track. Greg was an absolute legend. He took the time to show us around the property, and we had a great yarn along the way. We'll definitely be back. Without a doubt, this is our favourite Hipcamp we've stayed at so far!

Loved the peace and quiet of Oakey Ridge. Great country views. The site was private with other campers a good distance from us. Especially loved the visits from the cows. Greg was very accommodating, nothing seemed too much trouble.

Greg is really friendly, picturesque and plenty of options to explore. Facilities were basic but clean and all you really need when camping. We'll be back to stay at one of the more secluded locations

The land is absolutely breathtaking, from the cows to the rolling hills. Greg is a super responsive host and was there to ensure that everything was great, offering multiple times for wood and just in general checking in and providing advice of good views and sunsets. Would highly recommend, and we will absolutely be returning.

Wow, what a weekend! We had a very wonderful stay at Oakey Ridge (although it was a little muddy). Greg was a fantastic host. Nothing was ever too much too ask. He really went above and beyond to make sure the kids and us all had a ball. The view is fantastic. The safari sunset was beautiful and the kids had so much fun chasing the cows. We will definitely be back. Thanks again Greg.

greg was super friendly and accomodating, gave us a tour around in the buggy on arrival and helped us choose a spot. the land is beautiful, and even though we were unlucky with lots of rain we still had a great time. the showers are hot and the bathroom is clean, overall a great stay ;)

Had a great place on the ridge line looking out onto the hinterlands. The sunset and stars here are phenomenal. There are some shared facilities a short walk from the campsite which makes things more comfortable. The team working with Greg when I was there were friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful views and great sites albeit a little hilly. Flushing toilet near entrance not really walkable if you are at the top of the hill so self contained is the best.

Great to stumbled across this peice of paradise. Was just a stop in but stayed an extra night! Great host, got taken up to watch an amazing sunset. Firewood provided for good price. Definitely a spot for rest and recovery within nature. Will 100% be back again!

We had such a lovely time on our weekend at Oakey Campsite! Greg was ever so lovely and helped us pick the best spot, checking in on us throughout our stay also and offering to get us dry firewood after we had some rain. The farm is beautiful, the cows were adorable, the amenities were perfect, our dog had the time of his life. We would definitely be coming back hopefully the weather will be on our side next time!
