Located 19 km due east of the famous historical village of Tenterfield the working, cattle breeding, property "Mindoo" has recently opened its gates to campers. Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans. If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction. The Bend
Beautiful, tranquil and secluded place. Perfect place to getaway from the hustle and bustle. Our kids and furkids enjoyed the fresh flowing creek, there are a few creek access points only at a short walking distance away. Cattle freely roam the property and you can spot the odd kangaroo here and there. Though you do get a good work out walking up the hill to the nicely maintained composting toilet. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Twin Falls #1
So grateful to have property owners like Prue's family!... Being able to stay on such beautiful land is fantastic! The sound of the river at night while under a sky of stars was calming and just what I needed. My dog Boris had the time of his life, running and swimming. Great clean ammenities. Friendly horses. Fantastic campsites!!!... I'm relaxed the dog is exhausted and I have already recomended Mindoo to my family and friends!!

Fabulous site, unfortunately I can’t follow a map or directions and camped in the wrong area. Luckily it was not too busy. I set up beside beautiful flowing stream in a lovely shaded area a short stroll to 2 toilets. I will definitely be coming back with the family.

We loved camping at the bend! Had our 2 doggos with us and drove in with our 2WD VW transporter and it was perfect. It was by some water and was great for a hot day. Prue and Bruce has a really beautiful and well taken care of property. So much privacy and also a great toilet with running water to wash our hands. We would definitely be back!

We booked both Twin Falls 1 & 2 as we were concerned about the spacing of sites based off the listing. Twin Falls 1 is also quite close to the Cascades site. There are lots of trees between the sites so it does still feel private and you can’t really see the other campers but we were close enough to hear their music. Sites are appropriately listed for 1 car as they are small! We felt Twin Falls 2 was a slightly nicer site but it lacked the easy access to the creek that was at Twin Falls 1. Overall it was great!

'The Bend' site at Mindoo was absolutely perfect. It's incredibly private (we never saw any other campers), we had our own access to the river, close (but not too close) access to a very clean toilet, and a large flat site with a central fire pit. Mindoo is also only 15-20 minutes from Tenterfield if you need to restock. Our dog loved it, too. We cannot wait to come back!

We absolutely loved visiting Mindoo. The entire property was immaculate. The sites were so thoughtfully kept and the toilets were the cleanest toilets we’ve seen to date. The property has great driving tracks with amazing views! Bruce & Prue did a drive by & checked in with us - even going out of their way to provide firewood for us and dropping back to our site. Lovely people! We will be back!

Great campsite with amazing granite outcrops and river beds to explore. Site was easy to find and instructions provided were helpful. Was pleasantly surprised by the clean toilet avail that was a short walk from the site, saved us having to use our portable loo. Hosts were very friendly, checking in with us once we were settled. Hope to visit again sometime and will definitely recommend to friends. Thanks for opening your beautiful property for others to enjoy, a real gem to have in the Tenterfield Shire.

Had a great 2 night stay at prue’s property, very well maintained and very lovey welcoming host, came down to say hello and told us about the deep waterhole which was great, very clean toilet which was in walking distance was good, the water is perfect to have a little dip and keep cool on the hot days, will be back for sure, highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful spot! Our family of 4, including 2 young kids camped at the Crossing and we couldn't fault it. We had cows for neighbours, a flowing creek as background music and lovely hosts. Plenty of secluded space, and ability to take the kids on little adventures around the property.

Beautiful camp-sites dotted along the Cataract River. Great place to sit in a rock pool and cool down. Clean and well kept toilets are scattered around the place. Tenterfield being only 15mins or so from camp with plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas...highly recommended 👌

We absolutely loved our stay at Mindoo, camping at The Junction. It was peaceful and incredibly relaxing, with the sound of the river flowing past the campsite the whole time. Prue and Bruce were welcoming and lovely hosts. Bruce supplied firewood and was always happy to stop for a chat. Their friendly dogs popped by to say hello before heading off for a swim, which added to the charm of the place. Getting to the site involved a shallow river crossing that was easily handled with a 4WD. The campsite felt secluded, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. A perfect spot to switch off and unwind — we’d happily stay again and highly recommend it.

We Love Mindoo Station, as so beautiful 🙏 it's Kenny's Fav camping spot. It was our 2nd trip to stay & worth the x20 hour road trip. Our initial trip was on a fossicking journey in the region but we were drawn back again for the love of the land & great hosts Prue & Bruce. The Koala site is a prime water front section & the host mow the camp areas before yr arrival. Mindoo is pet friendly so our fur bebes have a ball frollicking around the green rolling hills & playing in the creek & we've taught them to Love the Cows & Kangaroos. Twin Falls #1
We camped at Twin Falls, it was so beautiful! Access to the creek with lots to explore there. Beautiful big fire pit, lovely grassy areas. We actually booked both Twin Falls 1 and 2 thinking they'd be too close together, but there is actually so much privacy between the campsites that it wasn't necessary. Very private area, and although there is a main road nearby, you cant really notice it with the sound of the cascades and running creek water. Just a walk back up the hill for perfect night sky viewing. Only one toilet in that whole area, which is a bit of a tiresome walk up the hill in summer, that's our only teensy tiny complaint. But its so clean and well looked after. Nicest composting toilet we've ever come across. Perfect getaway in nature. We'll be coming back for sure!

Stunning basecamp to explore from….

Easy and quick access from highway with rolling hills, beautiful running creeks, very well maintained grassy campsites and ever so clean composting toilets. Our hosts, Prue and Bruce, were welcoming and generous, taking time to discuss the surrounding National Parks and their property. Mindoo became our ‘basecamp’ for trips to Tenterfield and the surrounding NPs (Bald Rock National Park was stunning with a challenging walk up the face of the rock, Woollool Woolloolni, Basket Swap falls and also to Girraween) and to which we were glad to return at the end of the day to cool off with a dip in the cool rock pools and then sit around the campfire next to the creek. We have already shared our experience of Mindoo with friends and family and will be back. A really enjoyable experience. Oh, and you will also be checked out by the very friendly Daisy and Paul (dogs) to make sure pass muster 😁

Mindoo is an incredible property and the owners have done a fantastic job in developing it. It is clear a lot of thought and effort has gone into it. The camping sites are mostly positioned along the river and there is substantial privacy between each. It is a peaceful location with plenty of options to swim and explore. The rock pools are incredible. The facilities are well maintained and Prue was very friendly and checked in to make sure we were settled. Beautiful doggos 😊 We had an issue that was immediately troubleshooted by Prue which we appreciated. Overall a peaceful location, out of the way for a true digital detox getaway.

We loved our stay. The property is beautiful, and the location of the tiny home is stunning. Being so close to the water is so calming and peaceful. Just what we needed, a bit of a weekend reset.

The Bend
This is my second stay at Mindoo. Stayed at The bend campsite. Beautiful peaceful and totally private site. Cleanest pit toilet i have ever used. Looking at staying again on my way back from down south -- loved it

Koala
Koala is a B E A U T I F U L spot. If I knew I would have planned for a longer stay. Falling asleep to the river rapids was divine. The space was huge for kids to kick a ball and not hit the water or the camp. Maintained green grass. Directions spot on. A short welcome by the host. If we ever go back through Tenterfield I would stay again for sure!
