This is the perfect glamping experience! We loved our teepee-it was more than we expected it to be. The hosts are the absolute best, Al gave us a cool road trip for our jeep and it did not disappoint. Our teepee was clean, nice queen size bed, an electric heater, a fan/ac, couch and still roomy! The restroom is not far from the teepees, we had a cute fire pit, and the showers at the pavilion were clean. We went for walks with our pets on a leash, we were able to go to Boerne for a fun day. I promise you will want to stay here again and again. I know we will!

Only spent 1 night at Al’s Hideaway but we were very pleased. Clean grounds and Gordon was very helpful. We would definitely return.
I did not have any serious expectations at first seeing as I quite literally downloaded the app this very month and chose this place as my first experience. I wanted to find something that was pet friendly so my dog and I could enjoy a quiet weekend away from the city.
When we got there, the directions where incredibly easy to follow. The host at check-in was very friendly and accommodating. They actually take the time to drive with you to your site (in my case, I slept in the teepee) and let you know all about the utilities inside and outside your camping ground. There is a clean bathroom as well as showers, a common area with a pool, plenty of spaces for parking, and a very open field where I was able to take my dog out to do his business, walk, and play.
Nighttime was gorgeous because there’s limited light pollution and so the sky looks amazing! The only caveat I have, and this is for any future campers that have dogs, my nine month old puppy did have to sleep with his harness and his leash on the entire night because the teepee albeit sturdy (canvas covering) is not impossible to sneak out of by simply using their snouts to push through the entrance. Although this area is relatively remote, I would not say it is a safe place for a dog to be wandering around off leash at any time. Luckily inside the tent there are two little chairs, one that is long enough to use to place in front of the area where the teepee opens and can help deter any accidents. Other than that, the teepee was incredibly comfortable— there is a queen sized bed inside, as well as one fan that once it gets going, within an hour or so starts cooling the tent. At night the fan works wonders since it is easier to cool, but be prepared for humidity and warmth during the day until the fan kicks in.
Nearby, you can go to Medina River or Bandera City Park, both places I decided to take my puppy to as a means to exercise and explore. Overall this is a decent no frills getaway into the Hill Country for downtime and quiet.
For a first time experience, I would say this was great.
We had an absolutely phenomenal stay. The wigwam teepee was very comfortable for our stay and it was easy to get to activities from the site. Would highly recommend checking out the Cave Without a Name during your stay.
Absolutely gorgeous piece of land nestled in the TX hill country. The tee pee experience was magical, with the stars overhead and the cool breeze we couldn’t have had a better experience. Our host’s Gordon & Jennifer were very attentive and are as genuine as the come. Can’t wait to go back!
Al and his wife were able to accommodate me and my friends in a teepe. They were very welcoming and helpful. The site is fully equiped with restrooms, and everything is very clean and well maintained. Teepes have plug in cords to charge phones and A/C inside. I loved the experience and I'm coming back with my friends.
Coming from Houston to visit the hill country, we first visited the natural bridge caverns prior to our arrival. The tee-pee was much bigger than we expected, and the comfy bed plus a/c kept us cozy. Waking up to realize we had just slept in a tee-pee was definitely a unique experience!
Al was extremely nice, and provided great tips and inside information to continue on our journey! He has great vision for his wonderful property , and truly enjoyed our conversations! My girlfriend and I would definitely recommend Al’s Hideaway, and hope to visit soon in the near future!
