The Schellraiser music fest offers a variety of seasonal camping options at our 80-acre private campground in the cool high desert of Eastern Nevada's Steptoe Valley, near the small town of McGill.
Our Lotus Belle-brand bell tents are solar powered and fully furnished, with king, queen and twin beds; organic Avocado-brand mattresses; rugs; loveseats; floor lamps; charging ports and wi-fi service.
Car-camping and pitch-your-own-tent sites without power are also available.
Our campground features several tiny homes; we've converted the biggest one into our clubhouse that is now open to all guests from Thursday through Sunday nights. The clubhouse has a small kitchen area for cooking simple meals.
We're also gearing up to reopen our coffee bar on weekends in late spring 2025; our menu features hot and cold espresso drinks, organic teas and organic chocolate bars.
A heated six-unit restroom/shower trailer is on site.

We are an OFF-GRID campground, in a very remote part of rural Eastern Nevada. To reach our campground, you must drive eight-tenths of a mile off the main highway, on a rocky DIRT ROAD that is susceptible to flooding from April to mid-July in wet years. Drivers with Teslas, Audis and low-clearance vehicles are STRONGLY ADVISED to look elsewhere for lodging.

ABOUT THE AREA: Schellraiser is just minutes away from the High Schells and Bristlecone wilderness areas, and within an hour's drive of Nevada's wildest high-mountain and high-desert scenery.
Subalpine peaks, rugged canyons, wild rock formations, natural hot springs and ghost towns are all around us, and the surrounding area is teeming with wildlife, including Nevada's biggest elk herd.
ABOUT US: We're the founders of the annual Schellraiser micro-fest, which brought bands like Ladytron, Mercury Rev, The Raveonettes, Blonde Redhead, Asleep At The Wheel, We Are Scientists, The Joy Formidable, Blitzen Trapper, Old 97's, Houndmouth, Shannon Shaw and BRONCHO to the nearby McGill Pool Park each spring. The fest will return to a new venue (not in McGill) in 2026.

I really enjoyed my stay. I was lucky enough to have the whole place to myself. The Tent Campers section, and the Yurts(?) is away from the RV Campers Section. I liked that. You can see Traffic(and Life) rolling by on hwy 93. It's far away. And the Lights of McGill and Ely. I do plan on a return visit.

Solid camp in the middle of the high plains. The road in is a little bumpy but the whole camp is really well graded and the showers/bath were very nice. The host was really nice and greeted me and escorted me to a bunch of site options. Great place for a mid trip stay over.

My stay was beyond wonderful … met by Brian (camp host) who text me in the morning of my stay welcoming me and letting me know he would be looking for me … what a relief !! He was informative, personable and professional. The grounds were well kept and the facilities pristine. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I would recommend it to anyone passing through.! Plus great metal sculptures !!!

I had never thought of myself before as someone to love time spent in the desert, but Schellraiser is someplace extraordinary! The campground is run by such a kind soul of a man, and it is so quiet here you can really only hear the wind blowing through the brushes (thank god during the day). I love how vast the skies are here and yet how private my experience was. And, it does cool down at night!

Serene. I dry camped here in my truck and horse trailer. Stars were bright and the sunset was beautiful. The bath and showers were pristine. In fact, the whole property was meticulous. Brian, the grounds host was extremely helpful.

Have camped there several times. The fishing is usually very good, the hiking is excellent and the camp grounds are very well maintained a very nice group of rangers. also the surrounding area has a lot of interesting things to see and do.
