What an amazing opportunity to be lost in the grasslands of Wyoming, with not a soul insight other than horses, prairie dogs, antelope and deer. Hiked up the hill in the morning and surprised two doe and two bucks who stared at me from fifteen feet until they hopped off. Water and electricity as advertised with nice flat spot for camper. A short ride into Sheridan which has a wonderful Main Street, and looking out at the Big Horn Mts as the sun sets. Couldn’t ask for more. Host very responsive to any questions!

Wow. The views. The peace. The privacy. I loved this place! I was on a road trip with my little dog and wanted a place to camp for the night -- someplace away from the bustle of noisy and packed campgrounds. This place was just what I was looking for. Situated on a hillside and looking down into a valley with the Rockies standing in their glory off in the distance. The views were amazing! I took it all in as I ate dinner while the sun set, my dog wandered, and the prairie dogs chirped around us! When I got up the next morning, a bald eagle flew above as the prairie dogs and a deer watched us pack up. On the way out, a couple more deer bounced up the hill. I'd definitely stay here again!

Easy access to the northern Bighorn mountains and Chad was so gracious and accommodating - he even took the time to look over some maps of the wilderness and show me some beautiful areas to hike and camp. Brackettry Ranch offers an expansive view of the adjacent mountains in a quiet and secluded setting. The location was easy to get to and felt safe and very private. Your only visitors may be the prairie dogs and the horses in the fenced pasture close by. We travel with our bird dogs and they ran till their hearts were content. If power is needed there is a 30amp outlet but you will need 50’ to 80’ of cord, depending on where your power connection is on your camping vehicle. Water is right at the site and Daryl was very responsive with instructions to access the water to fill our tank. The water is not continuous use as you will burn out the pump, but you can easily fill your tank without a problem.
Our rig and approach to the site: 26’ bumper-pull travel trailer pulled by a 3/4 ton truck. We went just past the designated pad and backed into the site, super easy.
Pros: Quiet, scenic, safe, very communicative host, accessible, great location.
Cons: None Daryl can control, it’s a lovely place to enjoy. If traveling with dogs, just know that you’re in tick country and check your pups.
