Fantastic property amazing hosts
Wonderful property and hosts! This was our first Hipcamp experience and all others will have a lot to live up to. The spaciousness and privacy of our site (#4) was great, There is a natural stream the borders much of the property and we could hear it, so relaxing. Lots to do and explore in the area. We also enjoyed talking with the hosts and getting to see Chris’s awesome VW Bus restoration and also the classic Sero Scotty campers they have- all in all a great camping experience and we hope to return.
Super warm and comfortable stay!
We had a very comfortable evening at Chris and jackie's. They are such warm and kind hosts. In addition to coming out and warmly greeting us, they saw to it that we had everything we needed. We forgot oil for the grill, and they were kind enough to give us a pint of oil, saving us a trip to the store. I would definitely go back there, and highly recommend this listing to anyone.
Friendly owners and beautiful area
The owner of the site came out and greeted us upon arrival, and gave us some details about what to do around the area during the day. Chris was very personable and gave us all the details we needed without being intrusive of our privacy. The camping area is a large open, flat yard, so it's very easy to set up a tent. We had our own grill and fire pit in our portion of the yard, as well as a picnic table. There was only 1 other group of people there at the same time as us; we were far enough away to not hear each other during the quiet night by the fire, but close enough to still give a friendly wave. The sky at night was beautiful; during the clear night I saw 3 shooting stars in a matter of a few hours outside. Rickets Glen park was about 20 minutes away, so very accessable, along with some other fun things to do such as the cider/winery. The area you stay at is very secluded, with nothing other than houses around the surrounding areas, but once you make it to the main roads in town after about 10-15 minutes, you'll find any shop you would need to grab things at. The flea market was also a fun stop, although that was farther away from the other areas we visited (I recommend going as you're leaving, if you're heading that direction, and getting there before noon as some vendors pack up early). Overall, the whole experience was great and I would definitely recommend this camping site to others.
Chris and Jackie were warm, welcoming hosts who were easy to communicate with. Their land is great for little groups and we were grateful for clean port-o-potties and a dish-washing station with running water! We purchased wood and eggs from them too, providing a lovely campfire and breakfast.
Great place for great times
The space was great! A beautiful wide open space with great amenities and in a great area. The hosts we're helpful and kind and I will definitely be coming back with my family in the future. Absolutely recommend.
